    I've been pulled multiple times in my years of riding the mighty streets of Plymouth... I'd say 90% of those times has been in that exact spot!.. that paving must be an open air police station or something 😂

    People say routine checks are a waste of time. That is until an unlicensed and uninsured driver / rider is involved in an accident and kills one of their loved ones, then they cry because routine checks are not being done.

    • @mrcaboosevg6089
      @mrcaboosevg6089 6 років тому +5

      Routine checks aren't going to stop that, all we need is cameras to automatically read reg plates and see if they're insured the police can go do their thing

      unless they catch drunk people as well... and they do. I like to be safe on my bike knowing that there are routine checks from time to time

    • @GunnyUKsarge
      @GunnyUKsarge 6 років тому +4

      De Factio If your trying to say that Police routine checks are illegal? You are wrong! They have the right to stop any motorised vehicle on the highway and make sure everything is legal. The riders in this video were all legal and being stopped for a few minutes is no big deal is it? There are many out and about on our roads who are not. There are gangs stealing bikes on a grand scale at the moment and using them to further their criminal activity. So these checks are also used to look for stolen bikes. A friend got his stolen Ktm back because the scroat that nicked it tried to avoid a Police routine check and was spotted and stopped by a sharp eyed copper. Should be more routine checks imo.

    That was a great interaction. It can be extremely annoying to get stopped but you guys respected the police and they respected you, you all obviously had everything legit so thanks for giving us motocross/pit bike riders a better name. Hopefully we can educate the public and the police even that it's only a small select few crosser, pit bike and quad riders that are making us look bad by driving over fields and public foot paths etc with no tax, insurance or registration.

    When I was 18 I had a DTR 125 (16 years ago) I used to see the same coppers every week when I was coming home from work in a pub, they used to pull me over every week and accuse me of drink driving and because they could smell alcohol, after talking to the duty inspector at the local police station they made them stop and reprimanded the coppers for harassment, ask for a ticket from the police about your stop and make sure they put their number on it, that was how I got them. I got everything from tickets for illegal tyres (even though they were BS stamped as road legal which I got off with by making them write the make and model of tyre on the ticket) to being pulled for speeding because the copper had to do over the speed limit to catch me (of course dumbass, you have to go faster than me to catch me). The police will harass L plate drivers like fuck so always get the paperwork.

      The same thing happened to me, not on my Honda CB250 though, was always when I was in my Saxo. One time I was pulled over about 200 metres away from my house and they asked where I was going so I just pointed and said 'there!'. They asked if I had been drinking because I had a case of Holsten Pils (plastic case) on the passenger seat and some of the bottles were empty. I just whipped out my own breathaliser and said "take a look at this beauty" and the police officer really didn't look impressed. They always used to make a point of looking at the ignition to make sure I was using a key and that it wasn't 'hot wired' lol. I suppose it's my own fault for driving around in a car that most knobheads joyride in.

    When I was on my bike "Ls" in early 2001/2 it was fairly common to not have one on the front. The argument being that when idiots in 4 wheel tin can see Ls on the front of bikes they assume they are doing 30mph when in fact they could be doing 60+. This argument was fairly well respected among the Police (Essex) so its a shame other forces do not recognize the rider safety implications of someone pulling out in front of you.

      I was attacked and dialed 999 and it took them 1.5 hours to arrive.

    • @karenbevis8179
      @karenbevis8179 5 років тому +1

      That's true but the police stops are not random they are targeted at certain groups for extortion and they are usually the poorest in society. They can pnc the vehicle before they stop it to see if there is a history or a stolen vehicle report and they can pull someone that is legitimately driving badly so they target the right people. They just stop people they profile in the hope that they can find a reason to rob them. And when challenged they say under the road traffic act they can pull anyone just to check the legality of the vehicle and not because they think they are drunk or drugged up. And lets say they catch one person who they can extort - in that time some pedophile could rape and murder a child! I know what I want to pay police to do!

They are not supposed to randomly stop motorists without reciting their speil," you are being stopped because we suspect you are [insert specific offence here]. But the police in the UK now have powers akin to the former KGB where no longer require proof for crimes,such as a person making a complaint that a person said they don't like goat fanciers...Two people are imprisoned in the UK using just this type of policing.

And if you ever spot an "P" on any vehicle it stands for pillock as they more than lightly caused me to have to swearve to get past them , as opposed to straight lining it past them . If your ever in England look out for all my racing victories !.

When you review said references and are slightly wiser concerning laws and by laws in the motor vehicle industry i would like you to place the appropriate p plate on your vehicle that allows every body else to see your a pillock in control of your vehicle!. . At the age of 21 and older regardless of how long or not in this instance he or she has held a CBT for. The rider in question can fund a coarse and test called direct access which allows them to ride any size vehicle they dam well wish. I believe this is the A category in regard to the motorcycle classification .

    Funny how they don't put that much effort into stolen motocross bikes isnt it. You know the ones that some one has bought with hard earned cash, then the rats use the machines flying round public roads comiting crime & endangering other people. Far too easy to stop people with a license, plate & all legit!!!!

    Next time they stop you tell them you have Corona ! And then make the suspension go down don't play with the Trothell :) And don't forget you don't have insurance but you have Corona it's enough to get away .

    harassment in its purest form. The toads in uniform are to enforce the law, if you are stopped you should ask "what am being charged with, am i under arrest" if no answer or justification can be given by the filth then simply drive away
