I love that your whole family rides. I have a '24 KTM 300SX and a '24 YZ250, but this neighborhood I'm in is pavement locked and is hard to ride in. I'm half tempted to go pick up a '24 YZ85 small wheel which they have end of year deals on and then go goon ride on that little ripper. At least get some kind of ridin in even if I look like a goof on such a small bike. I subscribed and look forward to more videos of you guys ridin. Enjoy that YZ125. best thing to do at that age,is start them on a bike with no clutch.i have raised 5 kids and now have 3 grandkids and all started that way. Saves them one less thing to think about until they get use to a machine there riding.they move to next level of riding.
@@BensOutdoorBoys no were not super busy at all anymore. We raised are kids right and nowadays they have kids of their own and none of our kids or grandkids got hurt back then when they first started out riding. We did it right, but some parents need to learn the hard way as,they know best!!
is there any way to adjust the clutch lever, it looks like his fingers are just a tad to short at the clutch biting point making him dump it, great video, took me a solid day of this before my son got comfortable with it where he could just jump on and go
Thanks to you guys and your comments. I didn’t realize that on the small bikes they have a screw for adjusting the clutch. That made such a big difference 😀 Thank you for your comment, we really appreciate them 😁 what size bike is your son on? So fun to watch our kids grow 👍🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoys with the YZ bikes the recommended top end rebuild is around 100 hours if you are not doing enduro or racing, but i would recommend around 80 hours, 100 hours you are on a knife edge whether you just catch it in time or whether its damaged more than just your top end, these bikes are a lot more maintenance than the run of the mill TTR etc, and yeah you guys will have a lot of fun with the YZ, completely different animals
I got some tips for you, Get that lil men some ajustable levers so he can use the clutch and front brake easyer and you can play with rear suspension I'm guessing he is not going to be raceing so you can lower it a bit to help him with haveing more room to work with when starting the bike it seems like the bike is a bit bigger for him but you can lower it.
@@BensOutdoorBoys I'm glad I could help, boss. You made a great choice by going with 2-strokes over 4-strokes. As a 4-stroke owner, you and your son will have way more fun ripping 2-strokes. 4-strokes are really only good for racing, while 2-strokes are better for woods, decent on the race track, way more fun to ride around, and a lot easier and cheaper to maintain. It's really nice to see you and your family making great memories together at the same level, doing the same things. I wish you the best of luck with the bikes and can't wait to see more videos of you all enjoying them. My father and I never had the chance to ride together but we allways work on my bike together, so it's nice to see that someone is taking there time and giving there son some memories by riding together.
My old man wanted nothing to do with my MX racing. He was the kind of guy who was always making money 24/7, and because MX didn't pay, he thought it was a waste of time and money. Given the prices of the organization I raced in (NESC back in the 80's) I can't say he was wrong. Its an enormously expensive organization and when I got back into racing later in life I went with different organizations that weren't available in the eighties like the NEMX and WSP along with the Lions Club MX in New Hampshire. All of these organizations offer incredible value for your $$ (the NESC equaled to around $15 per LAP!), whereas the rest was less than a quarter of that.
Wow, super interesting! Thanks for sharing that. I would love to see my boys possibly race but will see. Just riding bikes around as a hobby is expensive 😂 Thanks agin, for watching our video and your comment ✊🏻😎

Totally! He’s just started touching it and can’t stop talking about the power! ✊🏻😆

He’s already been improving. So fun to watch him ✊🏻😎
Awesome dad!!! God is so good
Totally 💯 God is good!! 🏆❤️😎
I always wanted a RM80 when I was kid , but my parents never had the money and my mum didn’t like dirt bikes, so they bought me the next best thing a drum kit, 😂 neighbours hated me lol 😂 what a lovely family, super nice kids 👍🏻🏴

A quick tip for starting tip the bike slightly to the side on the leg that you are using to support the bike you can still get enough leverage to kick start the bike. I learned that with my dad Yamaha XT 350
Awesome, thank you for the tip! 😁✊🏻😎
Heyyyy love these videos keep them upppppp ❤ 🎉
You’re awesome 👏 thank you!!! ✊🏻😎
Thank you so much. You have inspired me. I don't have cash to buy motorcycles, so I will start with bikes
I learned a lot on a bike! I didn’t have my first motorcycle until I was 8. You’re going to love the sport!

It’s definitely a sick bike!!! 💪🏻❤️👍🏻

From what I've seen you have some pretty good riding skills!
Thank you for subscribing and the Awesome comment!!! You have some killer bikes and it’s a bummer that the neighbors won’t let you rip around on them. 🤪
We live in 80 acres and all the neighbors are super cool and we all ride in each other’s property. I’m thinking about getting the exact bike YZ85 so Michael and I will be closer in power 🇺🇸✊🏻😎
Thank again, have a killer weekend 😎

Thanks, man!! He’s already asking me when I think he’ll be big enough to ride it 🤣😎👍🏻
did you break the engines in or were they already broken in
@@duudlew3801 we broke the engines in. We ran two tanks of gas through them with a gas mixture of 24 to 1 mixture. We only fouled one spark plug on the YZ 65 and three on the Yz125. Spark plugs are $15 per plug 😱 I actually had to change my needle position, my main jet and my pilot jet to get the YZ 125 to run better. Thanks for the question 👍🏻✊🏻😎

Your a great dad and great teacher. I wish so bad my dad would have did this with me when i was a kid it would have meant the world to me. And sweet ass bikes my friend. How much was the 125 if you dont mind me asking.
Thank you so much for saying that! Means a lot! I’m super blessed to have such good kids. I paid $7000 out the door for it. Thanks for watching and your comment ✊🏻😎
best thing to do at that age,is start them on a bike with no clutch.i have raised 5 kids and now have 3 grandkids and all started that way. Saves them one less thing to think about until they get use to a machine there riding.they move to next level of riding.
Totally agree 👍🏻
Sounds like you and your wife were super busy with 5 kids! Nothing better than a big family 👍🏻 Thank you for the comment 😀
@@BensOutdoorBoys no were not super busy at all anymore. We raised are kids right and nowadays they have kids of their own and none of our kids or grandkids got hurt back then when they first started out riding. We did it right, but some parents need to learn the hard way as,they know best!!
I'm really happy for you both good luck really good dad😊

Im so jealous of that kid😂 my parents never ever let me get a bike until I turned 18😂
😆🤣😎 he’s a lucky little fart 💨
you go kid
He’s so pumped! We’ve been riding every chance we get ✊🏻✊🏻😎
is there any way to adjust the clutch lever, it looks like his fingers are just a tad to short at the clutch biting point making him dump it, great video, took me a solid day of this before my son got comfortable with it where he could just jump on and go
Thanks to you guys and your comments. I didn’t realize that on the small bikes they have a screw for adjusting the clutch. That made such a big difference 😀 Thank you for your comment, we really appreciate them 😁 what size bike is your son on? So fun to watch our kids grow 👍🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoys No problem man, every day is a learning day! and my son is on the same as yours yz85, i run the sherco 300 SE
@paddyici6629 cool 😎 This sure has been a fun season so far 👍🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoys with the YZ bikes the recommended top end rebuild is around 100 hours if you are not doing enduro or racing, but i would recommend around 80 hours, 100 hours you are on a knife edge whether you just catch it in time or whether its damaged more than just your top end, these bikes are a lot more maintenance than the run of the mill TTR etc, and yeah you guys will have a lot of fun with the YZ, completely different animals
@paddyici6629 Thank you for the info! They are definitely different than our TTR 110. When that power snaps the smile on my sons face is priceless ✊🏻😎
Good tips! Thank you very much!
Awesome tips thank you very much! Definitely important to have your son comfortable so he doesn’t get afraid! ✊🏻✊🏻😎
We’re a tight family, we pretty much do everything together. More videos to come!

@@TheJamesMalik Definitely!!! It’s the BEST!! 😀❤️😎
Just riding bikes around as a hobby is expensive 😂
