This song takes back to late 1976 when "Howzat" made it into the charts here in the UK. This Aussie band knocked out song great songs, as anyone who bought their first two albums will see. The first album entitled "Howzat" and their second "Photoplay" are both excellent albums. They had a unique musical style, and for those of you out there, who have not heard them, they are definitely worth a listen.
My dad loved this song , was nearly 9 when it came out but remember it well . Did they ask Brits to emigrate down under in the 70's for 100 quid , more people should have taken the chance , 70's Australia was the ultimate destination .
No it was 'ten quid' .... My parents were 'ten pound poms' ... Migrant hostels were like refugee camps... In fact the one my parents were in became just that ... Think it's gone now though.

Been putting this on the jukebox in the pub for the past year. Even the youngsters have grown to love it - it's become the pub's anthem!
