    I decided to go with a Ellipal Titan2.0 vs Keystone 3 pro because it has a native app. I guess you can say I’m somewhat new to crypto.

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  6 місяців тому

      I think that’s a good choice then. It will be easier to manage all your coins on the native app vs using multiple wallet with Keystone.

      EAL7 certified level of security.

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  4 місяці тому +5

      Why do you need EAL7? What does that even mean? Do you know what part of the device is rated EAL7?
      Because the secure element chip in Ngrave, which stores the private key, is EAL5.
      So the secure element used in a wallet like Tangem actually has a higher EAL certification (EAL6+) than the one used in Ngrave.
      The EAL7 certification in NGRAVE is achieved by the secure operating system, not the hardware.
      Does this mean NGRAVE is more secure?
      IDK. Personally, I think it’s more of a marketing strategy than anything.
      A higher EAL rating suggests a higher level of security assurance, but it's not the sole determinant of overall security.

    How does the Keystone 3 Pro manage to be 100% open source 5:40 while having THREE secure element chips, which are notoriously closed source?

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  6 місяців тому +3

      I assume it depends on the SE used.
      But the code related to the MicroChipTech SE used in Keystone is available for review on GitHub:
      Here's one example: github.com/KeystoneHQ/keystone3-firmware/blob/release/v1.2.6/src/driver/drv_atecc608b.c
      P.S. The code could simply be related to interfacing or utilizing the chip in the K3P. The ATECC608B chip itself might have its own set of specifications or proprietary technology that isn't open source.
      However examining the code that interacts with the chip can provide valuable information about how the device handles sensitive data, implements encryption, and manages communication, which are crucial factors in determining its safety and reliability.

      only the eal chips are closed source..se chips from other manufacturers are open sourced

    I wish the K3Pro still had the option to use the native app.
    They also need more added non Eth blockchain coin support .

      It is a pain to have to use multiple wallets to manage coins.
      But again, every decision made was aimed at security. Unfortunately sacrificing some user friendliness.

      I don’t really see how using 3rd party apps help improve security.
      Isn’t possible that it can sacrifice some privacy by allowing hackers to see what you own even if they can’t steal your crypto?

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  6 місяців тому

      Because we aren’t relying on a single centralized app to manage our crypto.
      And no. Hackers can see everything you have by viewing the blockchain. Doesn’t matter which wallet you use.

      Very good! However, I don’t recommend it for beginners. If you want an air gapped device and you’re a beginner, I’d probably go with Ellipal.
      If you’re willing to move away from air gap, I’d go with Tangem

    I bought Keystone 3 Pro, but considering that what matters most to me is ISO20022 coins, and Kesytone Pro does not support most of them, i.e.: XLM, HBAR, CSPR, IOTA, ALGO, LCX. For me it's more like just a stone, than Keystone - piece of brick.

    The more I dig into it and more I understand sophistication of crypto wallet "bank" robbers the more I understand why Blackrock made the move to Botcoin ETF and why most people will never truly own crupto direct. Majority will simply only think they have crypto but will not. Then huge number of bitcoin is and will be lost in dust or never ever uncooked wallets no one has access to. Bitcoin may and will still have its glory but eventually will disappear to some so far unknown future.
