Video inside animated device frame in Camtasia | Comprehensive Tutorial

- How to add a video inside a device screen but also animate it so that the video stays inside the screen at all times? This is a Camtasia tutorial to create an animated device frame, placing a video inside another video of a laptop or moving device frame and making sure the video is properly masked, tracked, animated, resized and distorted.
In this Camtasia tutorial, we look at adding a video on top of another video, we create an animated frame, we frame our video in that, we track the frame, each side independently and we also use it as a mask with the Media Matte effect.
Altogether, I show two methods of adding a video inside a device frame that is also a video.
This tutorial can be used to create an effect for marketing videos, tutorials, showing video playback on a real-life device.
I explain everything in detail, as to why things are the way they are and we work around Camtasia's limitations to achieve the effect we desire.
This video in device effect can be saved with the same video, and a placeholder, to be reused for other videos.

I enjoy your videos. I think they added a corner pinning mode in 2023 now, or am I mistaken?
Thank you, you are correct. 2023 has corner pin mode but I found it hard to animate and keep it on point with a moving target. Animation is harder with 4 points to track. There is still no automatic motion tracking (and I imagine there never will be).

Cristi, do you know what the keyboard combination is to do the rotation on a MAC? I've been trying to figure this out for a little while. It's a very useful thing.

Do you know any open source or free app that has good automatic object tracking so i can blur faces and it will track when they move accurately?
Yes, Shotcut is free and I think it has motion tracking. If you want to stay in Camtasia, you can do it using a similar (not automated) procedure as highlighted in this video: ua-cam.com/video/PrGg3Pd7XbE/v-deo.html
What transition did you use at the end to go from the in-device screen to the full screen video? at 55sec
It wasn’t a transition, I just animated that last part and scaled up
