I buy California Ranch 100 percent organic 100 percent California grown bur a California blend. Many yrs ago I tasted Corto Olive Oil and was impressed.
Thanks for sharing!
A really interesting video evaluation; thank you!
My pleasure! Thank you!
Thanks for the concise yet comprehensive content.
Thanks for the kindness. Appreciate it. All the best!
Excellent content George! This was a spectacular video and educational. I thoroughly enjoyed it :)
Many thanks! Appreciate your kindness Ted! All the best!
Too bad you did not extended your visit to Yolo Co and Butte Co. You might have been surprise at the quality of the oil and cured olives found there. Like so much of tourist who comes to Ca , they go to Napa and the stop, missing out of the other great wine and olive producing counties.
Thanks for the recommendation because I do plan on returning! All the best!
I really enjoyed your California olive oil review! Awesome information and insights for my next purchase! 🥰
Glad it was helpful! I loved them. Nice to know we have great olive oil in CA. Cheers!
I've been watching videos in this channel for the past few days and the information in here is amazing. By the way, I just subscribed to your channel. Amazing videos in here. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
Thank you! I appreciate you. Welcome! Feel free to suggest a video. All the best!
I asked California olive ranch what happened to the COOC stamp on their oil - it was missing. Here is the reply: Hello Richard,
Thank you for reaching out!
Our 100% California, 100% California Reserve Collection, , Global Blends, and Lucini EVOOs all feature a certification seal from Applied Sensory LLC, an independent, third-party sensory panel and certifying body. Applied Sensory certifies extra virgin olive oils from all over the world to the OOCC (Olive Oil Council of California) standard. You can be assured there are no other oils mixed with our extra virgin olive oils; no adulteration. All product ingredients are listed on the back label. Please note, to be certified "Extra Virgin" the oil undergoes both a chemical and sensory analysis. Both of these areas of testing are required to give olive oil the highest quality grade of Extra Virgin.
We are no longer associated with the COOC. They certificate oils that are exclusively from California origin olives.
We have hand selected and thoroughly vetted both our international and domestic farmers. We visit ranches frequently throughout the year, conduct audits and observe their production to ensure they uphold the California quality standards, the strictest standards in the world. We are not buying olives on the open market, but through developed and maintained partnerships. Further we have strict testing procedures and rigorous quality control measures in place from the time we select the oils to the time it arrives here in California where it is expertly maintained under our strict quality control parameters. We have control and are proactive through the entire life cycle of our extra virgin olive oils.
The Applied Sensory LLC certification seal is located on the back label of our oils. The exact placement of the certification seal on the back label can vary per family of oil.
Yeah. Any brand of really quality oil needs to provide this information if they offer a quality olive oil. Cheers and thank you for sharing. ua-cam.com/video/OnUY6iHYHyY/v-deo.htmlsi=4fUOHhiUaWzv7miG
WoW! Thank you for posting.
I love making bread dipping sauce; it is very healthy and delicious!
I just ordered a Husary to try just based on your list. Now that I've heard your review on it I'm really excited to get it. I didn't know all good olive oils don't have that peppery taste.
It is truly outstanding
@Kathleen67. So did you get the Husary EVO? If so how is it?
thank you for this review
My pleasure!
At my Minnesota grocery store California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil is labeled as [Global Blend].
This video was spectacular!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I don't know what else to say!
Bravo George!
I always get excited about olive oil 🫒
Thanks!! You’re surrounded by the best oil!
@@AwareHouseChef For sure, Greek olive oil is unmatched 🙂

I'm enjoying the increase in production value. Way to go!
Much appreciated! Thank you !!
I love the Mc Evoy as i like very peppery olive oils ! I will defiantly try the other top three ! thanks!
My pleasure
Great video, Thank you
My pleasure! Thanks for the encouragement!
I am trying to learn about olive oil for health reasons. I just received a bottle of California Ranch. My plan is to at least take two tablespoons a day. I am not a connoisseur, I just hope I will get the health benefits of extra virgin olive oil. I hope that I will with what I bought. I just want to watch my health I don't care if it tastes, good or bad as long as I receive the health benefits.
Thank you for reaching out! Here is a video that I put together with enough information to get you on the right path. All the best! ua-cam.com/video/OnUY6iHYHyY/v-deo.htmlsi=78jvDARsHGuNVRPM
Thank you, I had heart surgery 10 years ago. Lately, I have been suffering from angina. Not a good thing. I have medicine from my doctor. Somedays it works somedays it doesn't. The research I have done suggests EVOO will help clear my arteries. Effectiveness is my concern.@@AwareHouseChef
Love the video George and so much great information! A couple questions on your favorite olive oil, how do I purchase the Husary olive oil and would you recommend cooking with it?
Thanks Rick! Husary link is in the description and I would not go high temp with it. Keep it below 300F. All the best!
Glad to see you back! You're really going above and beyond to make interesting and informative content.
Thank you Dustin! I look forward to a regular schedule again. All the best !
I just watched all this to learn about California olive oil
little did I know you make the best lemonade, in the world?
used to live in Mattituck would go there just for the lemonade at first!
nice review thanks for taking the time!
Small world! Thank you. You made my day. Hope you stop in and visit some time. Cheers!
I used to buy bariani olive oil and their balsamic vinegar a number of years ago. I originally bought it because they used a old huge stone grinding wheel to cold press their olives. It was the first high quality olive oil that I had bought and it was delicious compared to the lower end olive oil at the supermarket (which was probably a blend of oils if we are being honest.)
I took a look at their website a couple of months ago and saw they no longer have that deep description of their process anymore. I'm just sure if they have just updated their website or perhaps modernized their extraction process and didn't want to show that. I don't know, but I am looking forward to this video. Right now I'm just using Costco's olive oil as my main, but it would be nice to have a little variety especially over a salad, etc.
Thank you for sharing!! Let me know what you add to your arsenal. Cheers!
Great video. What is some greek olive oil that you would recommend
Thank you for your kindness! My go to brands are Iliada and Messinia. Unfortunately, there’s been a blight in Greece, and they have suffered olive oil production so olive oil is very expensive right now. All the best! amzn.to/3IkshNu
Early harvest unfiltered olive oil is the best, the olive oil color is greeny 😋 very good with some warm baguette 🥖
Thanks for sharing!
Great video. I always buy Colavita. There is a world of olive oils out there in California.
You know it! Just released… cheers! ua-cam.com/video/Gf6raj8Yu9Y/v-deo.html
Just Ordered the Husary. Don't know if I've ever had a truly great olive oil. thanks for the Recommendation!
I love it and use it often. No affiliate link to me or a commission. Cheers
@NawlinstoVegas. So did you get the Husary EVO? If so how was it?
McElvoy ranch offers a couple of different oils. I found the organic EVOO I bought from an earlier harvest to be mild, and would have enjoyed knowing what kind was tested here.
So many wonderful olive oils from CA. Thanks for sharing that one!
I watched this video and also "This Is What Makes An Olive Oil The Best!" I learned a lot, so thanks! I'll probably buy a couple bottles of the Husary EVOO, based on your recommendation. In the meantime, I've got to use up the last of my 2-liter bottle of bland Kirkland Italian EVOO.
So Husary released their 2023 olive oil. He sent me a couple of bottles. Very complex, very delicious. Very good in salads. Very good for dipping. But different than the 2022, which is fine you can’t expect every year’s harvest to be identical. Nonetheless, it is really good, I hope you enjoy it!
Oh, so not 10/10 this year? Could you venture a rating?@@AwareHouseChef
Have you tried Bariani olive oil? I just bought some and am looking forward to trying it.
Not yet! Will keep an eye out for it
Curious what your thoughts are on Cobram Estate EVOO. I’ve tried the California Select and Australia Select. I think both are good with an edge given to the Australian oil.
Thank you for reaching out. I have not tasted it. I will see if I can source it. All the best
Walmart believe it or not! @@AwareHouseChef
I ordered some Husary today based on your review.
So good.
At 7:45!!! Wow! Thanks!
My pleasure
I tried the California Olive Ranch once and thought it was quote good. From Canada and we don't get much olive oil from the US at all.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Do a video on the Georgia olive groves plus some in Florida..Fresh Press Farns has their evoo in markets..
See if there’s enough info to put one together. Thanks for the suggestion!
Try Bari olive oil, central california family farmed, great price and COOC listed.
Thanks!
I only see Enzo in US. You mention Greek olive oil. Where did you get that green can?
So iliiada is a very nice organic olive oil that you can purchase on Amazon in a 3L tin. amzn.to/3s4Omes
I'm an old guy living in a small Kansas town. I have been cooking with Cobram Estate certified EVOO. In spite of my diminished taste buds, I like it. I also use it on salads. I am intrigued by the story and the taste test of the Husary Olive Oil. Would I be correct to assume that this would be used on salads and bread, as a drizzle, but not to cook with? Thanks for your great videos. I always learn a lot when I watch them!
Yes! Thanks for asking and sharing. The olive oils here are finishing oils and are not suitable for high temperatures. All the best!
@@AwareHouseChef Thank you!
Cobram is actually for dipping and dressing more than it is used for cooking.
@@whomeverwherever You should probably tell that to Cobram. The label says "Ideal for roasting, sauteing, dressings." And it's working fine for me when I use it to cook. You do you.
I drink it from the bottle. Never felt better since I started it daily.
Just ordered the Husary Med Mix. Website states they are shipping 2023 harvest
Where can you buy the 10 1st place one here in NYC. Only good one I can get at supermarket is California Ranch extra virgin olive oil with only California olives.
There is a link to Husary Olive oil website in the description. They ship. So do the other producers.
@@AwareHouseChef Thanks, sad to say I don’t have debit or credit card.
@@cherylelinsmith743 I’m not trying to be pushy but Mousah is a super nice guy mayne you can send him a postal money order?
@@AwareHouseChef I’ll check that out, right now I’m on food stamps.
Its my second best. I drink the extra virgin olive oil from nort Africa. It has to rated the best..
Moroccan?
Very interesting! Now I'll be drinking Olive Oil! Where is the FFA number?
Each manufacturer provides is (if they do) on their website or with the oil. Cheers.
@@AwareHouseChef Thanks!
Husary olive oil is the best one
Love it!
You mentioned Enzo's being good quality, but you also said look for a harvest date. Other than their Nuovo, Enzo's does not mark their EVOO with a harvest date, only a best buy date. Can you share which Enzo's product you were comparing to?
I don’t think Enzo sells the product he had sent me oil from his fresh harvest. Enzo is not a brand it’s an individual who follows my channel.
@@AwareHouseChef Ahh, I see the confusion. There is a CA producer called Enzo's
limonato i wanna try that so bad i want the most official greek olive oil because i have greek ancestory
My husband and I love your channel. This is a special channel. @CNN You’ve found your next hit show! Trust me.
Wow, thank you! I am honored! I appreciate your kindness. All the best !
I just bought 3 Husary olive oil from Mousa
Good choice! Good guy great olive oil
What about Brightland?
Unfamiliar with the brand. Thanks for the recommendation!
An important note:
California Ranch sold in grocery stores are mixed origin olives, w little CA olives in them.
Is it possible to confirm that? Is it specified somewhere? Thank you in advance
Incorrect. They designate the import oil as GLOBAL BLEND
They sell both. You can buy mixed origin or strictly California.
Suziescornerinlove never responded.
It's almonds?
The number one California ag export is.... (drum roll please) ... ALMONDS!
Almonds is my guess.
Dairy. Cheers
Hello friend is it possible that I can purchase you a bottle of your Greece oil a bottle please let me know God bless friend!
Thank you for asking. Unfortunately it is not available for sale because it is given to me by a friend. Please consider the Husary Olive oil as it is just as delicious
I just Loved THIS! I was on Vacation...
Cotton
Dairy. Cheers!
That's my cousin moose . Best man you'll meet
We became instant friends!
He mentions "Enzo's" olive oil and says it is a 9.5 out of ten. He didn't review this brand nor does he show the label. Can someone tell me why he brought this brand up?
He explained in the video that Enzo, a viewer who was kind enough to send him olive oil that was grown in his village in Italy, happened to send him a great olive oil and he thanked him.
Wish you did Corto as it's gaining steam in the pizza making community because it's made by Stanislaus the tomato grower well known in the industry.
Wish I would have known about it! Thanks for letting me know
Wow, you skipped over Bariani
Is that Californian?
@@AwareHouseChef Zamora, CA
@jjohnson5014 unfortunately, I did. Any good?
Why does that lady wear The Mask of Fear?
IM SURE THEY ARE GOOD FOR YOU, BUT THEY ALL TASTE LIKE MOTOR TO ME AND IVE TRIED. MANY BRANDS
mmmmm - produce or almonds
Dairy!
Too bad some of these good olive oils aren't available where I live. I might not even be able to afford them. It's expensive to be healthy these days !
I think it always has been.
I bought it and it tastes sharp and has a bite to it. I won't buy it again.
You bought which brand?
Your trip was magical? Gimme a break. You didn't go to Narnia.
I don’t know redwood trees are about as close to Narnia as you can get. Better than a couch…
Don't like your oil.
Why is that?
Love the video. Very informative. What is your opinion on the brand Olive Crush from San Carlos? I received some for Christmas. Thank you.
Thank you very much. I appreciate your kindness. Unfortunately, I have not tasted that yet. I will keep an eye out for it. All the best!
Thank you.@@AwareHouseChef
