If that wasn't a trolling account, did the woman never say her baby's name OUT LOUD... much less before putting it on the birth certificate and saddling her kid with that monstrosity of a name for at least the next 18yrs?! Does she hate her baby? She obviously wasn't bullied as a child, as she apparently has no concept of how cruel children can be! I'm not the bullying type, but damn even I would have a hard time not laughing at that poor, put upon child's NAME! 😮😮
I’m a cake decorator, these names just kill me. And then the audacity to get pissed when you spell it wrong! “Well if you don’t want anyone to spell it wrong, don’t name your kid something stupid!”
That's why you write it down. People spell my daughter's and husbands name wrong all the time. Neither are "stupid." They are both French. Yves and Yvonne are very traditional names. With French names you want the first name to mesh well with the last name. Yves and Yvonne means Yew. This is a kind of tree in France. My last name Sapin means Christmas tree. Both first and last names are trees. Now there's me that wasn't named in a way for first and last name to mesh well. My name means wealthy Christmas tree. If you're in the US you are in a country of immigrants (we all had family that were immigrants unless Native American).
@@Aelffwynnmy mother in law still misspells my name. I’ve been married to her son for 10.5 years now. I’ve given up on correcting her, and I’ve learned to not expect her to ever spell it right. It’s willful ignorance on her part. She could learn, but she refuses.
There was a Dhokota or Dakhota or Dakotah (can’t remember which, just that it was Dakota with an H, and that it was stupid) in my graduating class and her dad threw a massive bitch fit that her name was spelled “incorrectly” in the NHS phamplet. They were painfully WASPy too.
Here in the UK we dont do the birth cert at the hospital, probably for the best that you actually go home and sleep on it before making that kind of decision that will affect baby for the rest of their life 😂
I just gave birth to my first 9 days ago. The post partum nurses saved my sanity, I was in hospital for 4 days. They did and taught me so much more than their jobs require them to. It was hard to leave bc I was afraid of doing this without all their help. Things are going good now though.
Congratulations! ❤️ It's a beautiful and wonderful experience, but there will be some challenges along the way. But it's so worth it. Good luck on your new adventure!
I’m sure everybody is throwing advice at you, but I have to tell you something that I learned the hard way. People used to tell me “enjoy it, they grow up so fast.” I didn’t give that advice another thought. In three weeks, my daughter turns 12 years old, and I’m telling you her childhood passed in the blink of an eye. She’s a teenager, using teen slang and she’s in women’s sizes. She’ll never be a baby again. Cherish every moment you have with your baby as a little one. Because they grow up so fast. Now that she’s older she’s my favorite human and my dearest friend: I still can’t believe that I made her! (I do good work!) So much love to you and your new tiny family member!
Hold that baby! Love on that baby! Sleep when she does, cry when she does, too. My first is a girl and when she was that little, she would only nap if lying on me. Regardless of items available to help you move while holding the baby, just nap. They are infants for only 1 year and it is the fastest year. So soak up each and every smile, and messy diaper. Make lots of memories, songs help the memories stick with you. Congratulations!
My husband’s mom spelled his name wrong on his birth certificate. Should be Aaron, but she spelled it Arron. She had it legally changed before enrolling him in kindergarten . 😅
Back in the 90’s - when I was in University - I named my cat Beileigh (because Bailey was too easy). Thank God he was just a cat 🐈⬛. Every time I had to spell it for a Vet or licensing I cringed. Thankfully it later became a good password for my computer for years - but I thank GOD I never did something like that to a kid.
@ Rosecat is a beautiful name! We just got 2 cats - one black one that was already named Celeste. We gave her the official name of Marie Celeste (after the historical ship) - but highly considered Celestial Skye. It’s kind of fun to give cats the weird names - but after having to spell Beileigh for vets for 14 years, I learned my lesson not to give a kid a weird name. 😜

@@alazaelongI have a friend who gave her 3 kids pretty unique names (I’ve never seen or heard them anywhere else) but they’re all good names and she spelled them in such a way that they can be read phonetically.
@@Jaylia1992 I can definitely understand that. My mom found the inspiration for my name which is Alazae on a TV show it was an actress's name but the actress had it spelled differently but pronounced the same way. And apparently a drink has the name two but not too many people know of the drink. I had to grow into my name and after some years I learned to love it even though people usually don't know how to pronounce it but that doesn't bother me much anymore because it has happened so much. You also have to sound mine out by what you see to speak it. I bet your friends kids have beautiful names even if they are unique!
When I was naming my son, I thought about him walking into a board room and introducing himself or handing out a business card. I don't know if these things ever happen to him, but his name is normal and spelled normal because of this. Also, my mother named me something I have to spell all the time because she thought it was unique.
My ex fiancés mother told me that one of her patients mom named her daughter gonorrhea because she thought it sounded beautiful. The little girl was 8 at the time. Apparently the mom didn’t know it was a venereal disease. 🤣🤣🤣
I get wanting unique names but we went with names that fit both heard of but not super common. So far we only have two girls but their names are Evelyn and Aurora. Not super common, but everyone knows how to say and spell them
I'm Mexican and those two names are actually very common in Hispanic families, I personally know a few of all different ages. I have a friend who is 29 and her name's Evelyn spelled exactly like that! Also know 3 more age 10, 15 and mid 30s... I also have a 70 year old Aunt named Aurora...
I remember in junior high, a friend called my house using his mom's phone, so her name "Aurora" showed up. I was so surprised that was actually her name and thought it was beautiful
@carmeltabby I would definitely not pronounce it Amelia. That was my grandmother's name and my daughters middle name...i would pronounce that uh male e uh. Like it's spelled. Or uh mall e uh. My cousin named her daughter Taylor but spelled it taylior. ..I call her tay Lee or....cause that's how it looks like. I will never understand just because someone spells something weirdly doesn't mean it's pronounced how they think. One letter out of place can change a prouniunciation.
@@kaitlew906 nope, it doesn't. And she has no real reason why she did it. I told her the proper way to spell Amelia while she was pregnant and she said she just liked that spelling better. Years later, I found out it's the Spanish form of Amelia and told her that, she claimed she knew and that was why they had spelled it that way. We are the most European you can possibly be, not a trace of Hispanic blood in our family tree, which I have traced back at least 6 generations on both sides. Her husband has no Spanish relatives either and they live in Alberta, Canada. Wtf!?!?!
What a nightmare 🤯. My name is Toni, and I have to correct people to not spell it with a 'y' or 'ie'. I couldn't imagine the trauma of that poor child.
I will never forget being nine years old and hearing my aunt and uncle argue over how to spell my cousin's name the day she was born. Her mom wanted to name her "Rylee," "Riley," or "Rylie," but my uncle wanted to go with "Wryleigh." Thankfully they settled on "Rylee." I don't know what he thought he was doing there. I thought he was joking, and I said, "good one. That would be so funny." He was not joking. He got mad at me, too. I don't think my cousin knows that she was almost named "Wryleigh." And it's not just white Americans who do the weird, original spelling thing. I'm Indian, and my parents almost named me Anjali. Except they wanted to spell it with an -ie or even worse, -leigh to make it more unique. I'm glad they didn't do that. "Anjaleigh" is even more cursed than "Wryleigh."

All of our children have extremely normal, classic names with traditional spellings, minus one who got a non-English but still traditional spelling because it was a grandparent’s name
Yeaaaaaah.... as a teacher gotta love all those special names for kids whose parents never learned to spell.... there are some painfully impressive ones :(
At least the beginning of his name is spelled “tough”… which is fitting because that’s exactly what his life will be starting with learning to spell in in kindergarten.
In the early 90’s there was a twin set named “opium “ and “morphine”. When the mom was asked why, she said “ I read they are the durative of the wild poppy. Well their Poppy is as wild as they come” 😂
This is why i chose my own name Mason, a simple vintage name, easy to spell, i get mistaken for a Jason at times but thats easily corrected, i love my name and i advocate for those to have a chosen name even if they like their given name.
😂😂😂😂 it's really like this. I have a friend that I adore and told her girl why you doin this to your baby girl.. Ambrosia (that old timey pudding dessert) is her name.. spelled Ambroja. Yall I wish I was kidding. 😂
Well the traditional meaning of that word is “nectar of the gods” from Greek myth and later “fine perfume” in reference to that. But yeah I bet a lot of people will think of the weird “salad”…
@silvernblack21 yeah exactly! And the comment above is very true about the Greek mythology and uts beautiful to think she was named after such lovely stories.. but she was literally named after the dessert cuz my friend ate that shit every day for 5 months..lol!!
I knew a lady whose name was spelled “Deborah”. Pretty cut and dry. So, I called her Deborah. Little did I know till much later, her correct pronunciation was “Deb-ōr-uh”. It was spelled the same. Just pronounced differently. She was too shy to correct me. But I’m like, seriously?
I see where they were trying to make the “toe” sound with the “ough” like “dough”….but “tough” is a word. I don’t see the logic at all in “kneigh”. So this poor kid will be called “Tough-Neigh” on the first day of school for at least 12 years. And I would bet that bullies would just neigh at him.
Back when I was pregnant with my second son in 2010, we decided to name him Alex Jackson, both were family names, Alex was his great grandfather, and Jackson was my great grandfather. We had named our oldest after family as well, and of course, after deciding on his name, it seemed like every pregnant woman having a boy was naming them Jackson🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. This one particular woman asked me how I was spelling it. I was like "J-a-c-k-s-o-n" she was like "oh, ok, were spelling ours Jaxon" I was like "ok, cool spelling, but our is a traditional spelling and a family name" not that there's anything wrong with that spelling, but that Tony is a bit much 🤣🤣🤣
I remember when I named my oldest son in 2003 Corbin and everyone was like you named him after Bruce Willis's character in the Fifth Element Korbyn Dallas? Or when I named my second son Gavin in 2006 and everyone thought I named him after Bush's leader singer Gavin Rossdale. But actually my sons were named after their grandfather's (mine and my husbands)

My daughter's name is very unique, and the correct way of spelling it is with an accent over the É; her name is Éowyn, & it's pronounced Ay-Oh-Wyn. Since most Americans don't pay attention to accent marks, I thought that spelling it differently would make it easier for people to read/say; I tried, just A (Aowyn), AE (Aeowyn), AY (Ayowin), some combination of those, but none of the spellings felt right or looked as pretty as the OG...so, Éowyn it was! In the 1960s when my grandma had my dad and wanted to name him Jerry Dean after Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, popular actors for the time, the doctor told her she couldn't name him Jerry because it was a nickname and not a proper first name, so he was named Jerald Dean. I think doctors and nurses should say no more often especially nowadays to save these kids from having to learn to spell these ridiculously stupid names.
My parents wanted to name me Cèilidh (5th generation Canadian) but we're both teachers and realised that I would be called SeeLid my whole life. I personally love the name but Alex is easier (there were 3 of us in one of my classes and I ended up with "girl Alex" for a while)

My sense of how to spell common names has been ruined by working in healthcare... l've seen those spellings of Jaxson so many times I forgot Jackson is how it's spelled. Lol
"He looks kind of like a potato..." 😂🤣
I'm just sat here with my 3 week old baby sleeping on me and laughing so hard because it's true. Well, in his case, I call him a little dumpling. 🥟👀
😂
I miss the potato phase
Baby got tough knees 😂 kids will be calling him/her tough knees tony throughout school.
😂😂😂😂
That's what I read too 😂
Lmao 😂😂😂I’m dwad
Tough knees Tony sounds like a gay mobster
If I saw that name, I would think it was “tough 💪-k-neigh🐴”, Tony would be the furthest thing from my mind. 🤣🤣
Don’t forget the lady on TikTok who named her baby Kuntley!
I died. Dead.
😂
Not as bad as the one's that name their son's Mike Hunt. 😂
😅that is cruel😅
If that wasn't a trolling account, did the woman never say her baby's name OUT LOUD... much less before putting it on the birth certificate and saddling her kid with that monstrosity of a name for at least the next 18yrs?! Does she hate her baby? She obviously wasn't bullied as a child, as she apparently has no concept of how cruel children can be! I'm not the bullying type, but damn even I would have a hard time not laughing at that poor, put upon child's NAME! 😮😮
Oh noooo please tell me that was satire! 😅
Happens all the time!
I’m a cake decorator, these names just kill me. And then the audacity to get pissed when you spell it wrong! “Well if you don’t want anyone to spell it wrong, don’t name your kid something stupid!”
You don’t have them write it down for you?? Or at least have them spell it out while you write it down and then repeat back??
That's why you write it down. People spell my daughter's and husbands name wrong all the time. Neither are "stupid." They are both French. Yves and Yvonne are very traditional names. With French names you want the first name to mesh well with the last name. Yves and Yvonne means Yew. This is a kind of tree in France. My last name Sapin means Christmas tree. Both first and last names are trees. Now there's me that wasn't named in a way for first and last name to mesh well. My name means wealthy Christmas tree. If you're in the US you are in a country of immigrants (we all had family that were immigrants unless Native American).
I have a fairly common name that is spelled traditionally, and people still misspell it all the time. I can't imagine having a "unique" spelling.
Here in the UK we dont do the birth cert at the hospital, probably for the best that you actually go home and sleep on it before making that kind of decision that will affect baby for the rest of their life 😂
Didn't they kinda already have 9 MONTHS to sleep on it? 🤔 🤨 🧐
Oh man!!! We should do that in the US...bc my daughter wouldn't be Charlotte Guiliana 😅🫣 I was on heavy pain meds & mixed the I & U up lol
I was expecting Teauxneigh 💀 Got it half right lol
At least this one sort of makes phonetic sense😭
I just gave birth to my first 9 days ago. The post partum nurses saved my sanity, I was in hospital for 4 days. They did and taught me so much more than their jobs require them to. It was hard to leave bc I was afraid of doing this without all their help. Things are going good now though.
Congratulations! ❤️ It's a beautiful and wonderful experience, but there will be some challenges along the way. But it's so worth it. Good luck on your new adventure!
Congratulations!! You’ve got this mama!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations 🎉
(I do good work!)
So much love to you and your new tiny family member!
I named my cat Huntin Formyce 😂😂😂
My husband’s mom spelled his name wrong on his birth certificate. Should be Aaron, but she spelled it Arron. She had it legally changed before enrolling him in kindergarten . 😅
Back in the 90’s - when I was in University - I named my cat Beileigh (because Bailey was too easy). Thank God he was just a cat 🐈⬛. Every time I had to spell it for a Vet or licensing I cringed. Thankfully it later became a good password for my computer for years - but I thank GOD I never did something like that to a kid.
And here I thought I was being difficult just because my cat is called Rosecat, lol. Every vet makes it Rose Cat.
Brickleigh, for a little baby girl swaddled in pink flowers. Her nickname at home will be Bri, but at school the bullies are going to be calling her Brick and whose fault is that going to be
I love butter brickle ice cream and because I’m old and my first thought seeing Brickleigh was ice cream taunts
I work at an elementary school & they will definitely pick up the ick & run with it.🤦🏻♀️
I hope her classmates have never heard the joke about the girl named butterfly and the brother named Brick 😢
Nothing like a lifetime of having to correct everyone on how to spell their name. What a burden for that poor tyke.
The WORST
I have to do that with my name and it's not a terrible name just very unique.
And correct people who mispronounce it
@@alazaelongI have a friend who gave her 3 kids pretty unique names (I’ve never seen or heard them anywhere else) but they’re all good names and she spelled them in such a way that they can be read phonetically.
Tragic for the child. 😢
@ cool! I had no idea they were Hispanic names too! We are definitely as white as can be 😂
I remember in junior high, a friend called my house using his mom's phone, so her name "Aurora" showed up. I was so surprised that was actually her name and thought it was beautiful
Evelyn is a beautiful, classic name, so is Aurora. We used to have more Auroras back in the day, but I was born in the 80s 😂
theres a girl in my class named aurora and she is from honduras. shes the sweetest person i know
Years later...
Kid: T.o.n.y
Teacher: it says its spelled-
Kid: I know how they spell it, but it's my name!
I hope my neice Amalia (pronounced Amelia) has the courage to do this some day.
@@jamieweatherwalk2752 yeah like how tf is Taylior ok to them lol sorry but that's just dumb
@@carmeltabbyI immediately read uh-mall-ee-uh and thought it's so pretty! But Amelia? The a doesn't make sense phonetically
Wtf!?!?!
As a teacher, I feel like I don’t know how to read anymore and always mispronounce names lately! What are these people thinking?
“What a lucky baby……yeah ok fuk…..”
😂 the most outrageous name one of my nurse friends got from the new mom was “XPNSV” for her little baby girl…
😂
I bet she will be, especially now!!! lol I’m dying! 🤣🤣🤣
DAMMMMMM
Is the father Elon Musk? Lol
Noooo way omg 😂
"Anjaleigh" is even more cursed than "Wryleigh."
...and that, Friends, is why I have four kids with traditional and easily spelled names!
Signed,
The Girl Who Never Found Her Name on a Keychain, a Magnet, a Necklace, or Literally Anything Else
I read once a couple named their baby girl Madeinusa ..... They said they saw it on a box...
Oh, so sad! Poor. Child.
I have to ask. Were they American?
@phoenixofthestars07 I think it was just a joke. I hope no one would do that.😬
@@edwardzarnowski5558 I didn’t think they named their kid that for the joke, I just wouldn’t be surprised if they were stupid enough to do it because they saw it on a box and liked it. either way, a shitty name indeed
Honest. My coworker just had a baby girl and they are both from Taiwan. They named her Mia, and that's exactly what it stands for. 😂
What happened to traditional names, I truly feel bad for the children that end up with names like that. These parents have to remember they will be adults with those names and that's a good way to set a child up to be bullied
Traditional names seem to have faded out for “unique” names
Names from the great or great great grandparents to todays parents are making a comeback.
@@mamanursetina They are some really odd names, I don't think these parents realize they will be adults with these names and depending on how "unique" they are that child might be really mad
@@dominaevillae28 That I love to see, I have my grandmother's name as my middle name which is also my mom's name, my boys all have classic names, David, Devin and Dominic
My husband and I both have what counted as weird names from the 90s and it’s been a lifetime of spelling and respelling and mispronunciations.
As a pp nurse, I just tell them to fill out the birth certificate form 😂
I asked a sonographer what the weirdest names were she ran into and she said twons named Indica and Sativa
Omg...🤦♀️ A pet sure, but not your kids! 😅
Megatha is still the one that caught me flatfooted.
In the early 90’s there was a twin set named “opium “ and “morphine”. When the mom was asked why, she said “ I read they are the durative of the wild poppy. Well their Poppy is as wild as they come” 😂
Read Indica as Indyka in polish, means Turkey lol
OH PLEASE NO!!! That is so sad!
I think that you should have to pay by the letter, and multiply that by ten for every out of place vowel or constant ! 😂
"Ma'am, you get 7 letters, and then there's a $100 STFU charge for each letter after that..." 😄
Short and sweet. Love that 😅
Hahaha
"Handsome"
"He looks kinda like a potato"
This is why i chose my own name Mason, a simple vintage name, easy to spell, i get mistaken for a Jason at times but thats easily corrected, i love my name and i advocate for those to have a chosen name even if they like their given name.
My nurse definitely seemed relieved when we gave a common name with the traditional spelling.
With the marshmallows, cool whip & canned fruit?! 😂 That's not a name I'd have suggested, but I've seen much, MUCH worse.
@silvernblack21 yeah exactly! And the comment above is very true about the Greek mythology and uts beautiful to think she was named after such lovely stories.. but she was literally named after the dessert cuz my friend ate that shit every day for 5 months..lol!!
It's like you're attempting to spell Tony in Gaelige.
Tony chestnut knows i love you, tony knows, toe knee nose 😂
I see where they were trying to make the “toe” sound with the “ough” like “dough”….but “tough” is a word.
I don’t see the logic at all in “kneigh”.
So this poor kid will be called “Tough-Neigh” on the first day of school for at least 12 years. And I would bet that bullies would just neigh at him.
I love you using the minions coloring book 😂
Here I was expecting TOEKNEE 😂
Why do so many parents want their kids to get bullied. Some of the names people have are just crazy
I recently met a little girl when I took my kids to the park whose grandmother introduced her as Heavenleigh. I felt such pity for that poor girl. 😅
Nooo that name comes straight out of the the "Utah Moms" parody videos. How sad 😂
That name is from a Virginia Andrews book.
@@malinia.20 ok but Jane is the best
Spells: tuff-nay... 😂😂😂
Tough Knee is an adorable name 🫠
lol maybe thats when I said my kid was Alice they asked how I wanted it spelled lol
Ahlyss 😂
Teacher here- if you name your child creatively, please remember to spell phonetically and that they will be adults saddled with a ridiculous name.
I noticed that trend being a teacher - people give common names but spell them differently so the kid is "original". Sucks for the kids!!
I get that you want to give your child an original name, but practicallity also seems important 😅
Nurses should get a 1x per year veto on names to save the life of an infant. 😂
My, what a strong horse uttering you have there!
Im a teacher. We should compare notes.
I was like "J-a-c-k-s-o-n" she was like "oh, ok, were spelling ours Jaxon" I was like "ok, cool spelling, but our is a traditional spelling and a family name" not that there's anything wrong with that spelling, but that Tony is a bit much 🤣🤣🤣
So this is why the nurses are always relieved with my baby names 😂
I was expecting T’oKneigh 😂
I met a patient at work who's name was Victoria, but spelled Vyctorya & idk why but it still makes me cringe to this day 😂
Lmao. This reminds me of when i graduated high-school in 2015. The teacher thanked me for having a NORMAL name 😂😂😂😂
So glad my kids names are Fred and Charlie.
I could practically hear my nurse breathe a sigh of relief when we told her "Aubrey" and not any other crazy spelling of the name. But I do think Aubreigh is cute- I just didn't want to do that to my child 🤣
How can a spelling be cute?
@@radhiadeedou8286 I know it seems odd, but I get what she's saying. Idk why, but some spellings are just more aesthetically pleasing than other's.🤷♀️
@@jessicacrider388 oh wow I actually got it right as I was reading it, yeah I just don’t think Americans really even know how accents affect the pronunciation of the letter it’s on.
@@Blue71974 See, iykyk how it sounds! But you're right, most Americans have no clue how accent marks work, and how their placement can change a name's pronouncement.
The craziest I've ever heard is La-a.
As in Ladasha because the dash isn't silent. 🤦♀️
How about Apple, North,BlueIvy?? Those poor kids!
I'm a teacher, and the craziest name I ever saw was Shehalransodeaquanita
These parents are doing their kids a huge disservice just because they want to seem ✨unique✨
Tough Kneigh. Sounds like a Dwarvish Fighter.
It's like teacher B. Dallas' vids of the crazy names of his students. My favorite is still Quart'knee. 🤣
My parents wanted to name me Cèilidh (5th generation Canadian) but we're both teachers and realised that I would be called SeeLid my whole life. I personally love the name but Alex is easier (there were 3 of us in one of my classes and I ended up with "girl Alex" for a while)
I expect the nurse to write Tony on the birth certificate
Hahaha! I named my baby something really out there… but it was my grandmas name. She raised me and we were very close.
I hope that it means something makes up for it!
Tough kneigh??? Like tuff nay. Is it a strong horse speaking??? 😂
😂 lol'd for real
Should be able to just call child services because these unique spellings should qualify as child abuse.
"This is gonna be good." 😂
I work in pharmacy. When I asked for the name and birthday, they said Kevin. I told them I couldn't find the profile. They asked if I spelled it correctly. It was all symbols.
Tough neigh. I believe the natives would just call that baby Little Strong Horse 😂
Be kind. Why create many awkward situations for your child. Love your child. Keep it simple. Or are you planning for frustrated and hurt child as you want to cute. Rather be kind.❤
I really wish I could have seen my mom’s nurse expressions when she was spelling my name!😂
I had a regular at this place I used to work and her name was Tiffany but it was spelled Typhony.
😬 Looks like Typhoid!😱
@earlgreyt123 🤣🤣🤣
Omg these spellings that don’t even sound like they’re spelled, if I saw that I would have said Tie-Fo-Knee
@Blue71974 after seeing her several times I finally asked how to pronounce it and she said, "Tiffany" and looked at me like I was slow 🤦♀️ I wanted to say, "Not my fault your parents don't know how to spell!" 😝
I would’ve done a spit-take after the “K” 😂
I named my youngest Tomas (old Irish spelling...) NOBODY spells it right, but he loves that it's different. Then there's Aidan... Yeah. I knew nobody with the name (again old Irish name)... Then everyone started naming their kids some variation of it. His name is even misspelled on his stare id and they refuse to change it. Ugh
And when that baby gets called “Tuff-Nee” in school, they better not say a word.
i named my son Atlas. he was born on the 8th :) hopefully that’s a bit better haha
That kid is going to have a tough time with all the horse jokes.
Hahahaha actually laughed out loud for this one 😂
17 years ago, i sent off for my longer birth certificate to get my 1st passport ( lost my original short one). Found out the register had spelt my name completely different in the register to how she had originally written it on my 1st birth certificate.
I now legally have to spell it the way she wrote it in the register, not the way i grew up writing it! 3 different letters on the end became a real headache and EVERYTHING had to be officially changed
