    I learned recently that plugging your nose while cutting onions prevents the crying. It sounds impossible but IT WORKS!

      Mary's Test Kitchen // Vegan Cooking I wonder if it would work by breathing through your mouth instead of nose. Since you can’t really plug your nose while cutting. Kinda like how wasabi works. If you don’t breath through your nose you’re ok. :)

    • @marystestkitchen
      @marystestkitchen 6 років тому +2

      Yes! That's what I really mean; breathe through your mouth. :-)
      I didn't know that about wasabi though. Good tip. I'll try it next time I overload on wasabi. Thanks!

      Mary's Test Kitchen // Vegan Cooking What tip I learned about onions is to cut the ends off under cool water. Then take it to the cutting board. Been doing that and it works great.👌💦

    Both meals looked great...so awesome to see the little ones getting involved. I REALLY like your technique of cutting all the veg in small pieces and mixing them together before putting on the pizza!!😊

    You got your prove right here that it is yummy. Kids will tell ya if it's not to their liking. It looked so yummy and indeed no oils or salt. Prefect. When I use my own tomato sauce I also use onion powder. I use that a lot and it also gives good flavor. Would love to see more of this. Thanks for sharing Chris. And once again good luck Jay. 😉😁

    I'm getting my first instant pot today. Very excited. I really love what you did with throwing various things in to make a huge batch. Do I need to get caught up on how must water goes in when it's that much food? I see you used 3 cups of water and basically filled the food up to the max line so I'll try that and hope for the best lol.

    13:57 AHH! Metal blades on non-stick cookware. Shame, shame! But no really, I've been vegan for two years and most recipes I see are frustratingly complex to make, so I end up making bland food that I don't enjoy eating. Everything shown here is something I can do, so I'm going to try these out!

      The Vegan Zombie I think that idea is amazing and totally inspiring. I've often put vegetables in with my rice in my rice cooker but I never thought to expand it to so many different kinds of vegetables. Sounds like a wonderful idea, I wonder if that would work in a rice cooker also because I don't have a pressure cooker not sure if sweet potatoes would cook all the way through. Looks absolutely delicious. This is a really great example to show people how easy it is to make something incredibly nutritious and easy.

    I'm curious about the quinoa, so many sources say to rinse it first, so I'm surprised that you didn't rinse it!

    • @TheVeganZombie
      @TheVeganZombie  6 років тому

      Sometimes I do and even heat it up on a skillet for a bit. That brings out the most flavor. If you don't rinse it, it kinda colors the rest of the food sometimes. it won't hurt you though.

    • @carolynkren7961
      @carolynkren7961 6 років тому

      The Vegan Zombie I thought the reason you were supposed to rinse was because of some kind of toxin in the coating. It has made me paranoid, so I always rinse it just in case! 😉

    • @TheVeganZombie
      @TheVeganZombie  6 років тому

      Yeah, I got lazy with that pretty quick. I used to rinse and by all means do it if you want to. But I've eaten many many batches without doing so. I probably should, but I'm fine.

    • @TheVeganZombie
      @TheVeganZombie  6 років тому

      It's not toxic, it could just make it taste a bit bitter. A lot of quinoa is pre-rinsed. although some is not.

    Hi! Sorry to bother, but I have a question. Have you read the plant paradox? Are you like me getting tired about hearing things like gluten, lectin, etc attacking our bodies? I understand if you have been diagnosed with specific diseases/genetic vulnerabilities that this is a problem, but for the general population I think we need to take a step back once in awhile and breathe. I appreciate that you show us unique healthy diets and would like your take on this; if you have time. I am a healthcare professional and hate the fact that everyday I am told something different (media) needs to change in order for me to live a healthier life lol. I do try, but am growing tired of chasing the dragon. Medical data (used in practice) is eons behind, only because cold hard data is required to make it legal to make these recommendations from an institution. Just wondering your take on this ongoing battle of media vs science?? Thanks!!

    Why do you title your diet "no oil"? You don't eat avocados or nuts either right? You should probably just say "low fat" because no oil is misleading and makes it sound like you just...don't eat oil lol, which a lot of vegans don't, but I've never heard of anyone saying whole nuts or avocados = oil haha
