In addition, he suffered a huge depression after the loss of his wife. Furthermore, he was only mad at Tanjiro because he believed Tanjiro knew all about Sun Breathing from the hanafuda earrings, and in the end, he still lost his eldest son. However, when he heard Kyojuro's last words, which were for him to take care of himself, all the pain, anguish, sorrow, and depression just released all at once, because he expected Kyojuro to release any complaints about him, and thus, he broke down and couldn't even drink his pain away.

Man these ladies are so sure about Rengoku's dad being an asshole. Dude lost his wife & is a former Hashira. Rengoku almost certainly learned everything he knew from his father teaching him. Sometimes grief breaks people, it's unfortunate but it happens. Do not judge.
Exactly, sure his words were harsh and he seemed cold but when we see that glimpse of him crying thinking about his son it should have been more than enough for them to understand that his situation isn't all black and white.

I haven't even read the manga and I know that Yoriichi is not Tanjiro's father, do they not look at the context clues. Yoriichi is way older than his father's timeline
Fuck that even, his dad died and he buried him? Like it's shown in season 1 his dad was a sickly old man and inferred by ep 1 they have already laid him to rest lol
context clues suggest Yoriichi isn't Tanjiro's father, age difference in timelines.
Yeah, even when I still hadn't read the manga, I already knew he wasn't Tanjiro's father, they made it very clear Tanjuro is really gone.
I just think they left themselves believe it cause it happens in almost every shonen, where someone from the family of the main character turns out to be a villain or has something hidden, funny thing that this ain't true for Tanjiro's family, but it was for Ubuyashiki's, since Muzan was once from that family.
There's a Theory that Tanjiro's Dad was Yoriichi's Reincarnation since Yoriichi always wished for a Happy Family and Peaceful Living...

I hate how people call Akaza a coward for running. He wasnt. He literally CANT fight in the sun or he auto dies. We know damn well if it worked the same for the humans theyd only be fighting at night and running at day too. If the night had lasted literally minutes longer Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and everyone on that train would have died too.
