It's wonderful that you continue this beautiful tradition Derek. You can place a traditional stainless theme onto a "Modern" Bauhaus white minimalistic space. This way, it creates a sublime frame for the artwork. It will elevate the mundane corporate environment. The juxtaposition of new and old can be innovative.
Totally agree with you Janice! Good quality public art is one of the greatest ways to elivate an environment, and turn a space into a place!
Derek has his finger on the pulse of stained glass as a function and expression of high art. His knowledge, advise and talents are world class. It doesn't get any better. We are lucky to have global access to such a great teacher. Thank you Derek.
Much appreciated Jason, and thank you for your feedback 🙂
Beautiful brother.. I began in 1987 in Leicester with total masters.. stay blessed.

Exciting possibilities - if a little intimidating for a shed hobbyist. But thanks Mr Hunt - always a pleasure.
Hi Rex, glad you found it helpful. From little acorns grow big trees 🌲! 😀
That was inspiring, thanks.
So pleased you found value in it ! :)
Couple questions Derek. I didn't catch the surname of Derek ......, the guy who Airbrushes onto glass? That looked like a lot of fun, especially working on large pieces! Also with the Totem, was it a mixture of Glass pieces & Acrylic pieces? It's really beautiful! As was all the work u discussed, very inspirational!
On the subject of bonding with glue. What would b ur choice of glue 4 large or small pieces?
Thank u.
Hi Fiona, the screen printing people are called Proto Studios and they are based in Pewsey, UK. Totem was a mix of antique coloured glass and toughened glass bonded together with a special glue that was heated up and sealed in a vacuum - needs a bit of specialist equipment to do that part.
@@DerekHuntArtist Thank u Derek, very helpful. Really enjoy seeing ur creations & that of other glass artists u introduce us 2 on ur You tube sessions, & great 2 b able 2 ask questions & receive a reply so promptly. I do appreciate ur taking time 2 answer as I can see u r kept very busy with ur work.
I enjoyed your video. I want to incorporate glass art in to my home for decorative and lighting purposes. I wonder if you know of any techniques or materials that are particularly cost effective and doable for an advanced DIY project?
I want to go big! That might be 600 ft^2 of glass with outdoor scenes and RGB backlights that change with the time to make it more dynamic and maintain a circadian rhythm even when it's 116° outside and I'm hiding from the sun.
I'm on a limited budget but not so much that I'll make my home a plain box. I will be building it myself with rare exceptions when I need a bigger crew, that includes the interior finishes. Instead of building walls, applying an interior finish and then making art and hanging it, I think I can save money by combining the art and interior finish. I also have sensitive eyes and hate direct light from point sources so glass art will give me the ability to build diffused light and shift some of my lighting budget to my art budget.
I want to make my future and mash up materials, techniques and aesthetics to create something fantastic and unique without blowing my budget. Hopefully that's my future of stained glass.
Hi Joe, thanks for your comments. Regarding how to get images onto a large area while still being able to change what is seen, the only thing I can suggest is a short throw projector. Here’s a quick link ua-cam.com/video/kNI4pBYGPj8/v-deo.html You may be able to find a way to make that work. Good luck with your building project !🙂
