Sue Foley...Canada's Blues Queen! About '88, we 1st met in Edmonton, when she was fronting her own band, in her late teens, including another male guitarist. She stated he was into Chicago blues, though she prefered Texas style, herself. A few years later, Clifford Antone, himself, invites her down to Austin to both record and live. We saw her play at Antone's in April '93, during Jimmie Vaughan's first official gig, since Stevie's tragic passing. Later that summer, we caught Jimmie at the Gorge, in George, WA, with B.B. Kings Blues Fest, with a 12 year old, Joe Bonamassa, sitting in with "B", for a few numbers.
@CMR Lizard I say and hope the man is as laid back as he portrays in his music and videos.. to me he is the epitome of a laid back blues/rock musician.
Then Sue Foley is a goddess! Denny Freeman said she was the only guitarist that scared him,she was so good. I've seen her several times and she is a badass! But very nice offstage!
wow if I was in a band and Billy walked up on stage and told me to play Thunderbird and he would sing my head would explode, I would be no good for nothing for a year. hey Billy, there you go, some lyrics for you "no good for nothing for a year"
