Before Figma I couldn't even imagine how much I love vector graphic. And I did use illustrator, sketch and corel draw a lot.. Seeing how web application outperforms desktop app (AI) is priceless!
Hi Bogdan! Not sure if you'll see this. I created two vectors, two half-moon shapes that I want to join in one whole moon. How do I do that? I don't want a union, I want it to be like one whole vector! When I select each of them holding shift and press J (join) - it doesn't work and the button is grayed out. Please help!
Bravo... A very comprehensive but valuable tutorial in very short time. This is the future of tutoring you already achieved. I am a pro user of figma but many of tips I learn from this video, so bundle of thanks
If I want to make my complex shape or verctor network (didn't know they are called that way) fully symmetrical I split them in half, make copy of preferred half, flip and join back to original.
Hey Roman, if you click the ? in the bottom right corner of Figma, you can find a handy reference for keyboard shortcuts. It even has a surprise once you've used them all 🙂
Amazing series! I have one problem though on minute 5:00: when I have the curve option on the vector (clicking Shift) then I can't go back to a straight line vector with Option. I have a Mac. Some of you have this problem? Thanks!
The problem I am facing is that the text i used in one of my frame. The font size alignment those are required for text have disappeared. I am unable to edit my text in any way possible for example: font size, change of font, alignment etc.
Btw you can still achieve 75% of shape builder tool do. For that merge all objects, enter the edit vector and use bucket tool to fill the shape you required and empty the space which not required, then holding shift , select multiple lines which you want to delete.

This is gold - keep up the great work with these tutorials!
4:43 This single tip has changed my life! Thanks so much. I really hated having to press P to switch to pen tool again, and hold ALT to remove a node.

Thanks. 2 years later, still helpful to have these videos to be remember of all these shortcuts
I was actually doing all my vector work in AI then importing the SVGs but now I think I'll give it a better go in Figma. Great vid!! :)
Yes.

Thank you so much. The value of this video is beyond words.
You can also copy and paste verctor segments from one shape to another. You just have to be in vector editing mode.
Actually still can, even in Canvas Mode. It will just make a new vector new layer
I love this capability! I wish I would have demo'd this as well!
Thanks for this cool series! Could you add an explanation of how the mirroring options works?
wow, so many interesting controls. Also, those join options for bezier shapes are what i've always dreamed of. Thank you!
Awesome series!
I've been looking for that tip with shift+del on vector nodes. Thanks!
Glad you're finding it useful!
This is so so sooo good! Vectors are far superior in Figma than in Illustrator.
Amazing
🙏
Love these videos! Thanks a lot!! Muuuuchas gracias!
Look so good !
Great as always! wondering whats that Mirroring option under vector does 🤔

thankyou sir
Why doesn't Figma have a built-in way to break apart vectors? I'd love to know.... it's one of life's mysteries!

Can you please add Shape Builder Tool to Figma?
This and I would leave illustrator altogether

@@HaniHassan1 Thanks for the tip!
This would be amazing. Shape Builder was truly a great innovation for illustrator.

I have the same Issue, how did you solve it ? (im on Windows if it changes anything)
Thank you! Great Figma tutorial! Maybe Figma needs some brushes
Add Timeline To Figma Just Like Invision Studio!
I'd love that!
this is crazy
Don't mind.. I love figma but there are too many shortcuts..

Add 3d feature to Figma like Adobe XD
what's the point of illustrator now? figma is insane
