Everyday Château Season TWO, Episode 2. We are talking this 1980's Eco House (an "Envelope House") and turn it into a 1780's country house.
It's harder than it sounds. Especially with six children, farm animals, an essential oil business AND homeschooling.
It was a busy week around here and so we thought we'd squeeze in some bedroom sprucing up and illumination.
Chandelier repair is one of those projects that we keep putting off but it sure felt good to get two more out of storage.
And FINALLY, we aren't sleeping on the floor cause Joel put together a $48 bed frame.
There's always an abundance of "helpers" around here. Having a big family means there's always a meal to be made and little hands ready to "help" out.

You guys amaze me how you have so much to do, but it doesn't "seem" to overwhelm you and just keep plugging along with your eye on the plan. Joel is every wife's dream! So patient, accommodating and unflustered by any task you throw at him ... even with the children playing in the middle of it all. You make a great team.

Just a little upset that you have made me rethink my lifestyle! I am sooo enjoying your "french" accents of life. Ha! I sincerely appreciate and actually shared in my life the choice to be a stay at home mom who oversees every step of the home and raising and feeding the clan! My hubby is also my fix it and make it happen man! My faith got me through!

Discovered your channel during COVID, I rationed the episodes so I wouldn’t run out. Beauty is it’s own relief! Next to beauty your channel exudes resourcefulness and innovation-two of my other favorites. At the end of the day I hope you know you have pushed the envelope on all three of these essentials of our humanity-evidence of our great Creator.

After looking at a lot of you tube in French Country decor, to me you are the number 1. You don’t go out and buy at Home Goods or TJ Max and decorate in one day for that season. No, it seems to me that, everything in your home are things you have bought through out the years and they are truly things you Love and are very meaningful to you. I believe that kind of decorating comes with age a maturity. I know I went thru many styles but always came back to my original like. Many people are caught up in the trends. Find what style you like and buy things that speak to you. My rule of thumb is if I see it walk away from it but if I keep coming back to it and I can’t get it out of my mind then I buy it. Her warmth in her decorating style comes from old things repurposed things and things that have a story to tell. Beautiful home!!

You have such beautiful, eclectic treasures, very diverse but it all comes together amazingly. Your mother is a gem for finding that copper sink and your husband's willingness to pick up a hammer makes the world go around. Your baby wiping the chandelier while you fix it is such a teachable moment.
Yes haha when we moved into this house we were sleeping with the mattress on a tarp on the concrete floor and with a tarp for a door as the house was a foreclosure and had been stripped of anything that could be taken out ,Everything metal,even doors base board shelving etc .
So nice that Joel is okay with all your "pretty" ideas. Couldn't believe it when I saw your bottle of 4711. My mom wore that for years. I can still smell it. Hmmm.... maybe I should pick up a bottle for myself. I did have some many many years ago. Now I know! Was wandering how you got your bed and the window look over the bed. I looked and looked and couldn't find anything like what you did there. I was wanting to recreate that look here. I love french country. I found some of those round burner covers done n french country and was able to put one inside a wreath and it didn't look dumb like I thought it might. It looked good. And cinder blocks. Who knew! Wow!

OK, first I just want to say, you have the most gorgeous hair! Second, you have married the most patient man on earth! Love this video of you decorating your bedroom. I love your passion. I have a few French pieces mixed in with my more English decor. I adore my antique French Rooster weathervane in my kitchen and my French wooden butler and maid. They are standing ash trays from the 1920’s. The butter now holds cocktail napkins by the butlers tray, and the maid holds business cards standing by our front door. You would love them. PS. Your kids are precious beyond words.
