I have 6 kids and my wife works part time. I am a teacher--salary is decent but not high. We live in a single wide on 3 acres that looks better than when I bought it. I drive a 15 year old truck. It runs perfectly because it has to--I fix most everything and build the rest. I have 2 kids that went through braces (orthodontia), 2 about to finish with braces, and one that will start soon. I have 2 kids in college and one going to college next fall. None of us have any debt. We get along as a family. We work, we play, we pray. We LIVE. You have no idea how wonderful my life is. I would never trade with anyone because I honestly don't think I could have it any better.
People like you give the rest of us that r struggling to make ends meet hope, u have to work hard in this world and thats no joke. Goals never seem realistic unless you work hard for them
Wow. I'm a huge country fan and just heard this for the first time. Great song, so true. I gotta remember this song when "Life" happens. Man I've been through hell and back but I got a pretty good life.
Looking for good old country u probably never heard of . Look up" wild wood weed, Harper valley pta, and prop me up by the jukebox when I die. Injoy if u haven't heard these and decide to give them a listen . Tip my hat to a fellow country music lover
His face turned read and he shook his head and you don't understand. 3 kids and a wife depend on me and I'm just one man. Great reality there, feel it a lot
I start to cry every time he gets to the part about Sarah being late and Daryl kicks in with "Set'em up! We need to celebrate!" That's the way God meant it! It's a precious gift even in the worst of circumstances. :)
Nearing the end of 2024. Bills piling up. 2 kids. Job on the rocks. And just learned wife is pregnant. First song that came to mind and only one on repeat 😅
This is slowly becoming my all-time favorite County song, and it's honest and so inspiring. This motivates me when the shit gets too crazy in my life. In my case my Water Heater is broke, my truck is falling apart and I take care of my Mom. All this while working full-time, paying bills, and trying to carve out time for myself. This let's me know that I can do it, I can get thru it and I ain't the only one. I listen to this song when things are piling up on my list and I need a jolt. Awesome song.
You aren't alone. Just recently my wife and I bought a house. Only been living it in for a few months and the water heater went out,a/c went out and to top it off we used our life savings to put down for the house. Life will get better just have to hold your head high and keep moving forward. God bless
Well hell I can put in a new heater for you. $200 + parts, I've already got the pipe cutters, tape, pipe dope, soldering kit, and the experience You could also DIY pretty easily and save $ if you don't wanna hire me :'(
Hey all, This is just one country song that is great there are thousands more!!!! I lost my 10yr old son, and 5 days after we buried him my husband decides to leave me for another women. So with everyday life stuff I have my share of the tragic stuff too. Prayers, my other children, Love, and Country Music got me through it. So this song is Great to listen too when things are getting you down. Listen to more country, Pray and God will be with you. Be Strong All and God Bless!!!!
I loved this song the first time I heard it. We all could use a shot of "suck it up" and "just hold on and enjoy the ride" now and then, when we get to feeling sorry for ourselves or overwhelmed by events in our life. thanks, Darryl for giving it to us in such an enjoyable way.
I loved this song, along with Awful Beautiful Life, & A Good Day To Run. I still listen to these songs on my MP3 when I walk my dogs or whatever I'm outside doing something. In my opinion, Darryl Worley was underrated & never got the recognition that he deserved...he should STILL be on the radio with hit songs after hit songs!!! Much love from Mobile Alabama.
University student here that has to work full time. Bills, books, tuition, and no financial aid this semester. Been tough but holding on. It's the journey that matters, not the end result. I've made things work in ways I never thought I could before.
There are no lyric writers like country western writers. Their solutions to problems are so down-to-earth and life-changing. Did you guys catch it? The singer walked off a left his truck for his friend. What an awesome song and video.
Four year old comment, so not trying to be "that guy". The singer drove Johnny Ray back home in Johnny's truck. Johnny had been drinking all afternoon and was probably too drunk to drive home by himself. But yes - this is a good song and one to keep in the back pocket for when life eventually comes back to say hello. :)
Well here I am. Smiling thinking of my dad. He recently passed and always had something good to say. He sent me this song when it came out. 😂 Thanks Dad love ya man
something else we need on country music.....you know i think we should wright to our favorite country music stations and put a list of songs we need back on the radio like and comment if you agree
I find my husband listening to this song a lot. Especially when bills pile up and shit get tough. I think it helps him. Thank you Darryl for this song.
Quintessential country, down-to-earth philosophy delivered with appealing lyrics and music. This is one of my favorite go-to songs when life starts to weigh me down. Thanks, Daryl!
I love this song. It is so true. It's hard times. My family has had to accept that there's not gonna be much money for Christmas and we've gotta work through it. Times are hard but we've all gotta keep trying and help others however we can.
I love the way and what Darryl sings about. He is very real and very on top of life...All your fan's love and not just cause your cute cause lord knows you must have a woman who loves you!!!
This is a great pick me up song. I was driving to work to one morning in the traffic not felling so well this song came on. I started thinking my life could be so much worse. I have a great marriage, good health, a great job a great life. This song made me think positive thoughts and picked me right up. Thank you!
A lot of this song sounds like me about 10 years ago. When my wife found out we had unexpected number 4 coming. Here we are 10 years later. Four healthy and happy kids, doing the best we have ever done.
My husband works with some of his kin at GoodYear Tire & Rubber Plant in Union City, TN. Darryl is from Savannah, TN, only about 1 1/2 hours from where I live. Every year the Tennesse River Run is held there. Daryll is about as down to earth & real as they come in my opinion and his songs are all heartfelt and about reality & life that people can relate to. Keep doing what your doing Daryll! Keep it real! Much luv & respect!
I remember when I was in elementary school I would play CMT in the morning when I was getting ready and I vividly remember hearing this song all the time. Completely forgot about it and it just brought back a wave of memories. This era of country music is what my childhood consisted of and I miss it so much.
Its 2021 and as the years continue this song hits home more and more. Husband and father of 3 and when it seems like everything is goin wrong this song always seems to pop up and remind me that it will all be just fine
Country is great because it tells the story like it happened--the emotions, the facts, and all the rest. It doesn't sugarcoat things or try to pass pain off as less than it is; country songs show viewpoints, what real people thought, felt, experienced or saw while they went through a situation. And country helps us laugh through the tears and the heartache; what other music has that much heart?
Darryl Worley is one tall drink of water. Just absolutely adore him. Seen him in concert a few times over the years. Cowboy butts drive me nuts and Darryl has a great one. Give me a man in cowboy boots and jeans any day of the week.
Life isn't all lollipops and rainbows... But the rough patches make the smooth parts that much smoother. Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of our blessings and get caught up in our own personal pity party. It is then, just as the big picture is out of sight, when you have to sit back and remember just how lucky and blessed you really are. This song helps me do exactly that.
Great song and great message. Songs like this are why I'm listening to a lot more country these days. I often feel like I need some hope, I listen to a song like this and it brings me back to what is important.
i love this song he hit the nail on the head with it..everyone thinks they got it so damn bad well wake up and smell the kibble hun its like that everywhere not just in your house...
This summer has been hell. I moved, my dog died, my friend in Michigan got stage four cancer, my friends were slandered by the on-line equivalent of the national inquire, and I'm always broke. This song reminds me that I'm not homeless or dead.
Awesome song, reminds me of tough times, makes me want to keep working hard. I had the dryer and had lost my job when I found this song, I cried like no tomorrow...
my car blew up today with me and my four year old in it , our washers leaking so bad I have to put two towels under it to wash one load. my husband's working 16 hours a day in a mine. I needed this today. ❤
Any time I knew I needed a friend to tell me to suck it up but there wasn't one around I've come here to listen to this again. This is the FIRST time I noticed the part where they buy a round to celebrate the good (yet scary if you are fair) news that he also has. I already remind myself to be grateful of what I have every day, I'm shocked that I never "heard" that part of the song before. I Love this song, Sounds Like Life to Me..
Ya agree with everyone i love this song because life isn't perfect no matter how hard we try, we just need to get over....suck it up and forget it. don't let the simplest things hold you down. Move on in your life and just be grateful for what you have and just be happy and positive. :)
Everytime there is a problem in life either in my life or a friend I listen to this or recommend this song to a friend it reminds me that there is no such thing as perfect there has to be ups an downs. sometimes it has to get bad before it could get good
Love this song, he's playing here in south korea tonight, free for millitary, it's gonna be awesome. It's about the only I'm glad I'm stationed over here:)
Thanks DW.3 yrs ago, I had a surprise pregnancy-our 5th little boy. When I was 5 mos pregnant my h suddenly told me he was leaving.A wk later, he moved 90 miles away with a woman he met on FB who has no kids.3 days after the baby was born he texted to say he'd filed for a divorce.17 yrs gone just like that! Im raising our 5 boys w/o him & it's good to hear encouragement like this.I would never trade that precious baby for a MLC man.Just bc we didnt plan the baby doesn't mean he wasnt planned :)
It doesn't always feel like "life" when we're going through the rough spots, and it's always good to have a gentle reminder that we're not alone and that we all go through the "crappy" parts of life!
Amen! I'm thankful I had a best friend by my side even when I thought I didn't have any friends left... If it wasn't for her, I know I wouldn't be here today. I wouldn't have been around to be at the hospital the day my niece came into this world... At one point, I thought things would never get any better, but thanks to her, I can say things have definitely gotten better!! Friends come and go. Good friends are hard to come by. Best friends are once in a lifetime!!
It is life it isnt easy but you find a way to make it work.I'm a single mom every day is a struggle but I know they depend on me so I will keep struggling for them.
this song helps me get thru the day ! god knows, between work, the baby, and shes starting to teath, work been slack thanks for comming up with this song for ppl out there like me
Remember when country was actually country and had meaning. A song I come back to a lot when my depression is at its lowest and I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. I miss this country so much. Country does not exist anymore
Having a kid this 2024. God bless this song. And everyone else
Ayo me to and my car for in a fender bender and the dang water heater went out
I have 6 kids and my wife works part time.
Congrats man! I’m 17 and this makes me happy :)
Hard working people is what makes this Country what it is, You and your wife is what keeps this world Spinning
idk if you'll see this just want you to know you are who i inspire to be
People like you give the rest of us that r struggling to make ends meet hope, u have to work hard in this world and thats no joke. Goals never seem realistic unless you work hard for them

This song is really about how life is.
One of the most underrated country songs of all time. A song that speaks to real people and what they’re going through. Well done.
This is my new song to remind me that when times are tough it's just life!

This is a great song. We could all do well to remember that no one promised us a pain free life.

This song delivers a well-timed kick in the pants to anyone whining about problems!
Its so great how country singers always sing about hard times and bad things, but they are rich.
This song is the main reason why I LOOOVVEE country music!! Most of the songs are about everyday life and how people cope
Life is always tuff the only thing you can do is suck it up
Excellent...1st time I've heard it
Jesus loves you and so do I
