Me and my dad were so excited to hear about this project. My dad died 10 years ago and i'm now watching the progress with my son. Thank you to everyone involved.
In our excitement let's not forget Ian Warhurst, the UK businessman who saved the Bloodhound project when it ran out of money last December. I'm so happy to see this awesome machine finally doing its thing. I can't wait to see it when Andy gets to really open the taps. Thank you Ian, and the whole Bloodhound team!
Bravo Ian Warhurst.....Pity the BBC pay dome much homage to brexit on tv and projects like this have to beg for publicity......quite frankly I’d rather my licence fee paid for documentary’s rather than the biased rubbish we get fed daily
@@stevedavis68 - don't pay it then simples! If we all stopped paying the beeb would royally screwed. They've not seen any of my money for over a decade.

Great to see the car running at last. Hats off to Ian Warhurst for rescuing the project, this shows the best of what Britain can do in these times when we're often looking frankly ridiculous on the international stage. Finally please don't add loud music, we come here to see and hear the car and learn the technical details of this fascinating project. We can go to Hollywood for over-produced films. Still, well done guys, been following this project for many years and great to see the thing GO!
Awesome! All your hard work is awarding you success! Hope the testing continues to go well and looking forward to breaking the record next year!!! Thank you for all the updates and thanks to Ian Warhurst for continuing this project!
This is just awesome guys and gals. Congratulations on running Bloodhound under her own power over the race track. The excitement is building beautifully. Keep up all of the hard work and look forward to seeing the throttles pushed further soon.
Fantastic stuff. An International effort in aid of science and progress. THIS is what Britain is all about. I can actually feel proud of my country again, and proud to have my name on that fin! Been with you all since Thrust 2, this is EPIC!!
I’ve been following this from the start all those years ago with a lecture from the great Richard Noble . I’m so glad the project was saved and kept British. Gods speed to Andy and the team.
It must be so rewarding to turn an animated vision from years ago into reality. I am so happy for you! I wish you all the success, safety and fun for the coming days! On a side note: I personally do not need the generic "epic" music. For me the engine and Andy's voice is epic enough for me.
It is exciting following these daily updates. I'm cheering for you guys from here in Texas. Great to see you working methodically. Like my racing instructors have said, "Slow is Fast."
am so excited, I know this project wasn't going to be rushed as it was a fundamental drive to bring on British engineers . Thank you to Andy ,very much a team player to say it's us and not I lol .they a lot of us hanging on in anticipation for the big runs , and each and every video is like a soap opera cliff hanger ,your dying to hear the announcement we going for the record again . Well done team to get it this far ,soon we can see your efforts come to valour
Hi guys This is so exciting. Congratulations for the first test run, wow! Loving it. Can't wait for the next tests, when Bloodhound stretches her legs and goes faster. All the best and God bless you all.
Its getting real now. Great work guys. So excited. Any kind of a timeline for testing/a run? Also to the editors, please don't be afraid to release long videos that are without dramatic music and with any data on screen that you can get. You do good work but let's be honest, if you're here and are interested in the project you're probably here for raw feeds and analytical data.
Congrats on a successful first run. Oh how I wish this was happening at Black rock Nevada. I was there in October 1997 to whiteness the breaking of the sound barrier. Sadly burningman has made a mess of the playa. I camped there three weeks ago, so bad I could not even use my landsailer. Looking forward to more run videos, Thanks.
Bloodhound looking very good out there. Please listen to comments. We all want to be part of this and a bit of 'reality' goes along way. Less gloss please! But very well done for the last second rescue and great to see the car moving across the flats.
Well done the team a d Andy. As an Irish person, I just want to say that the work you all are doing breaks borders in the face of borders our governments are intent on creating.
fantastic to see how slow 100mph looks....can't wait until it looks fast too.....well done everyone, thanks for sharing all the test run build-up after a very long gestation...
Took them long enough... I was in elementary school when this project started in 2008 and now I'm in collage😂😂😂 I took them this long just to get the thing rolling. lmao! But I respect them for not letting this project die.
Great to see Bloodhound trundling across Hakskeenpan after such a long wait. Can’t wait to see what speed she’ll manage in her current jet-only configuration. Is anyone in the team actually READING these comments? You asked for questions and I don’t think there have been any answers forthcoming.
Thrust SSC the cameras were a bit roapy but the audio was clear. Bloodhound Comms makes Andy sound like he is using a speak and spell to talk. Can't wait to see the faster runs. Good Luck!
Now its got a body one and painted. It dies just look like you've bolted very large pram wheels to a jet fighter, takenoff the wings & landing gear. Looking forward to the full throttle runs.
Guys when ssv did the world speed they reported that the wheels dug in at the speed but also it hopped when passing 450mph onwards which stopped it going much faster than they did given the speed your planning to break I hope you keep this in mind and keep the pilot save, good luck on further testing I know with improvements with technology you guys can do it
I was a member of the Mach 1 club that provided some of the funding when Thrust SSC broke the sound barrier in 1997 but was so underwhelmed by Andy Green's response to it all that it completely put me off any more attempts in the future and I have no interest in any of this now! Come on Andy Green, show a little pride in your achievement!

Here, hold my bear... This will be awesome, can't wait for a full speed run! Oh... And I see you got some norwegian stuff at the back there, Nammo. That's cool :-D
Congratulations, great to see the Bloodhound running in RSA. Question please - will the minimal rear wheel spats stay for the record runs or will they change to the original with spikes on as per the graphic? Thanks
Fantastic to see these runs, especially as I was lucky enough to see the test runs at Newquay as well. Although, are all of your supporters names still on the tail? The primary school I help run STEM projects for had their name on the original livery.
When it says a really slow test speed is 100mph, then you know it won't disappoint. Can you sort out the frame rate on your cockpit camera so we can see the telemetry clearly though... 😁
Given the short track width for the rear wheels, it would be interesting to know what the stability margin is for roll-over due to lateral forces from the vertical stabilizer in a side-slip condition. I have no doubt that yaw-stability is driving the large surface size, but to the uninitiated (i.e. me) tip-vs-slip in the roll axis is a concern. Maybe the low coefficient of friction means the car is more apt to slide laterally than roll? Man I wish I knew more about this!
Daylight digital... if you divide the slip stop by the diameter of the stop, drop and roll quotient.... and then multiply the flux capacitor ratio... it tells me...uhh...nuttin, but it was fun to act like I knew what I was talking about by using intelligent sounding words.
Hi guys, how long are you planning to be in SA for? Also, are members of the public allowed to come and view the runs? I'd love to see it in real life. Thanks!
It's a lot uglier than Thrust SSC. Surprised it doesn't seem to have much in the way of aerodynamics - would've expected some for stability as it's so narrow it looks like a small eccentricity would send the thing hurtling. Width and weight of 'Thrust' gave a more stable appearance. So good luck to Andy Green - already has the record, still wants more. The sign of a champion, or a nutter.

Don't OVER-produce these videos by smothering them with loud music. We come here to see & hear Bloodhound, we can go anywhere else to get music!
I often immediately dislike and stop watching with irrelevant music over the real sound.

"background" music far too loud I couldn't hear the car.
