Man seeing this brings back when I worked on the POA as well. But I'll be back soon enough and have to get use to being in a cabin again as I'm going through the Rehire process.
@Joshua Miller yes I do have to go through the whole thing again as my SIU papers work is over 5 years old and both my MMC and TWIC card were both expired I'm being considered a new hire again lol.
Hey! I got hired as an assistant waiter abt a month ago. What was your experience and position on the POA? I am wanting to go to college in the meantime and some people it takes 2 months and for others they’ve said it took 5?
I used to work on the POA from 2010 to 2014 and I was onboard during the dry dock of 2013 when they replaced the deck 3 carpets with that hideous design. They just use leftover from the rest of the ship and I think this was a random pattern they weren't using anymore. I used to call the curtains "clown curtains" for obvious reasons. Happy to have found your channel :)
That's amazing! They definitely tend to just move stuff around lol. And the curtains are terrible, they need to update them asap. Really ruins the vibe hahah. Thanks so much for watching! :)
Thank you so much for posting this. I just received an offer letter for working on the POA and have started working through the steps to get on board. I do have one question that I admittedly keep forgetting to ask my Onboarding rep, I'm 6'6", how long are those bunks, especially the bunk beds? They didn't look that big when you did your cabin tour.
Me and my fiance are looking to apply for pride of america. We would love a new experience, since we are hard workers. Hoping that me and my fiance will have a cabin together if we get hired. Thank you for uploading this video, and talking about your experience:)
do most people on the ship have to share a room with 2 or 3 other people? i don't mind ONE roommate but more than that?? erm.... specifically for the spa staff(which is what i'm applying for!)
Currently in the process of getting medical cleared. But I have a question about hair dryer/straightner. Can the electrical system handle the watts/amps of regular accessories or do you need certain hair dryers and or straighteners? Any help is appreciated. I’m trying to figure out what to buy.
Great video! Thanks 🙏 how can I share the cabin with my boyfriend? We are going to that cruise soon. Do we need to do some especial paperwork? Thanks a lot
I just accepted an offer as an assistant waiter onboard the POA. I was really excited until I talked to past crew members who all talked about how deplorable the working conditions and management are. I really was looking forward to coming aboard, can you shed some light, your opinion, or your experience on this?
When I was there all departments were severely understaffed which led to people working waayyy more than they normally would. The conditions definitely weren’t great in that regard. I left about a year though so I would hope things have gotten better by now. 😕 The itinerary is amazing though! Hawaii is so incredible! Hope this helps!
Hi! SO EXCITED! I’m a Realtor but I am going to be working on POA soon in the excursions dept! I have a question for you. I have several things that I’m ordering off of Amazon for my room but I’m concerned about taking those things in my luggage. Are we allowed to order from Amazon and have things shipped to the actual ship before embarkation day? If so, where can we get the address of where the items can be delivered to?
Hello!! Yay how exciting! You can definitely get packages sent to the ship. They arrive in Honolulu so you would be able to get them on saturdays. Whoever your contact is on board should be able to give you the address 🤗
@@krista.jocelyn Awesome! Thanks, Krista! Can’t wait to meet you. Entertainment would have been my first choice as I did a lot of theatre when I was younger but I can’t sing to save my life. 😂
Hey! How was your experience on POA? Are you still onboard? How long from receiving the offer to actually getting a training date or letter to get onboard? 2 months? 5 months?
@@Invicta-mj7hc unfortunately due to a family emergency I had to return home two weeks before my contract ended. That said, I went with an open mind. My experience with the kitchen staff is being discriminated against and treated as disposable. As for the officers of the ship, they always get a power trip and harass regular crew. Not my cup of tea… but it’s a job. This was my personal experience, I wish you the best of luck.
No they’re not unless you’re with your partner. And you can log onto the Wi-Fi in your room but there’s no service usually unless you have a port hole!

Have you gone onboard yet? Whats it been like? Im young and got hired as an assistant waiter. From everything I’ve seen online the turn over rate is pretty high, so I don’t wanna go if it’s that bad
@@shanessensitiveskin8091 that’s fucked up? How long ago was your last email with them? Im trying to plan the next few months of my life with college but not knowing a disembark date makes it all but impossible.
You share a room with your boyfriend so are the rooms gender-equally shared? Like they don't put men with men and women with women, it's completely random? Jeez living with 3 men sounds like hell😂😂 idk if I could do that
No they do put men with men and women with women haha but if you are in a relationship and request to be together they might do that. It depends on what your occupancy is in your contract! I would have normally had a single cabin!

POA ship is currently a disaster! NCL should not be running her cruise itinerary. Totally not ready to sail. 40% staff and capacity with 40% passenger experience. Staff at present all new and clueless. Only one restaurant, one bar, and limited excursions are offered. Ship was dirty and bathrooms smelled. Extra charges for everything. Just got off last weeks sailing. 10k vacation for a horrible experience. Will never cruise Norwegian again. Celebrity all the way!
Cruising 6/25/2022 on POA look forward to seeing your show. Great video. Good luck on POA.
Just got hired on POA and was trying to figure out what to pack! Thank you for your video so I can understand the space I will have!
