Be careful. Your false cord screams and fry screams both sound overly squeezed and incorrect. You need to relax more and get rid of that squeeze before you try combining them and teaching others how to do it.
The difficulty for me is that I can't see inside my throat to tell what's moving and how it's moving. I have no idea if I'm screaming correctly at any given time
@@Nyvallhen Yeah, it's hard to get a grasp on how to control muscles I cannot see. Of course, some people have figured it out without the need for visuals, but somehow no one has explained the process well enough so that I can understand how to actuate the correct muscles
I think there's kind of a secret to learning screaming vocals which most people don't think about or talk about because it has nothing to do with technique and unfortunately has a pay wall...its headphones and a proper mic setup. The transition into using an interface and mic with headphones for me was huge. The reason I think this is, is because without these things you're not just hearing your scream when you practice. You're hearing the echo of your screams against the walls. The other thing is you know how people don't tend to know how they "really sound" speaking unless they hear a recording and they're like "IS THAT HOW I REALLY SOUND??". This is because you create vibration and sounds in your own head from speaking which influences what you think you sound like. And screaming is no different. Why the mic setup is important is because you can monitor your sound in real time rather than having to record and listen back. This let's you adjust your sound and technique in the moment making it alot easier to develop the muscle memory around what you want to sound like. Pop on my channel and you'll hear I'm a fairly okay screamer and I use very cheap products for this compared to what alot of people use. A basic sm58 and any interface you want and you should be golden 💜
@@CrustaceousB Great input. Well worth a try. Still though, it's hard to know if I'm doing it well and effectively. It's less about how it sounds for me in my early stages than it is about fundamentals and technique. I wonder if there's a way to tell, more or less, what's going on in the throat without having to see it
@@MikeF031 if it hurts you’re doing it wrong, I recommend watching extreme vocal institute and watching their videos fully, it goes really in deep and it helped me unlock my screams, it’s likely you will feel uncomfortable, because it’s something that you’re not used to, but when it genuinely hurts you’re doing it wrong, like I said check them out and watch his videos they go more in depth
Fun video man! My highs are hybrids and they confused me and many others for a long time. Lol I met with a screaming coach a few years ago and he broke it down for me. My lows are a weird form of false cord which is very compressed to the point the function of them is alot more like a fry, where as my highs are a mix of both fry and false cord.
I think I already do this haha. Well used to, I’m trying to unlock it all again. Used to have a band long stroy life got in the way and now I’m starting up again haha. Your videos are great!
I sused to this all the time but i simply have not in me anymore. (Edit) I did it by yelling really loud. While fry screaming kinda lile fusing a shout growl with fry
🎤 Book a free Screaming Consultation with me! (I’ll critique your scream!)

Yo dude, you’re awesome! You and extreme vocal academy have helped me immensely with my fry screams.
This video dropped literally right when I had the thought to combine the two screams
Me: I can growl
Also me: I can't fry :')

This is so helpful. ❤️🥰🤟 I just started recording my performances
I think a lot of metalcore vocalists nowadays mix the two, such as Jake from ABR and Tim from AILD

either i can't do this
or
i learnt how to hybrid scream instead of fry scream
i just can't tell xD
2:11 kind of sounds like Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation
My shortcut method, imagine you are vomiting, that sound you make when you vomit is the perfect way to start this hybrid scream.
good job bro🍻🍻👊👊😎😎🤘🏻🤘🏻
Funny, I figured out how to hybrid scream before being able to isolate both. I’m now working on isolation but I find it really difficult
Me who does hybrid scream unconsciously believing those are false chords until my friend point's it out😂
this glorious fun house of information xD So tricky !! :'D
I sused to this all the time but i simply have not in me anymore.

I did it by yelling really loud. While fry screaming kinda lile fusing a shout growl with fry
Hybrid scream sounds like Fat Albert lol.
Oh i thought I was just doing a normal mid scream I'm dumb
Yahuuu
Jostin Bonitz from Tallah do this
Yay I'm first
