You nailed it! I keep telling people the 1991 Pistons were not old. If they were, the 1998 Championship Bulls were "ancient" since Rodman was 37, Jordan-35, Harper-34, Pippen & Kerr-32.
They weren't old they had been in the ecf and finals for like four years straight, and were in the finals the previous year when Kobe beat him but nobody said they were old then.

The 80s and 90s were a much tougher time in basketball. I’ve been watching NBA since the Lakers and Celtics we’re battling against each other. Kobe was the closest thing to MJ we’ve seen, but he’s not MJ. I certainly wouldn’t mind having a LeBron Janes on my team, but if I have a choice then it’s going to be Jordan every time. There are several factors involved that makes me feel this way.

LeBron jumping from one team thats still trying to get better AND please LeBron at the same time to a team where everyone is between the ages of 19 to 25 years old does not work against teams like the Spurs, Rockets and Golden State. Is not only about absolute numbers but also about relative numbers. Jordan has much better results in the playoffs, which means he does not put all the engines running in the regular seasons. What differentiates MJ from anybody else is that he can influence the game more when it was necessary. He can score at will.

With that said, he was still highly effective and did what most great players do and have done as they age, play the game with a more cerebral approach. That season he put up 19.4ppg, 12.5ass/g, 7rb/g while leading the Lakers to a 58-24 record. That was the 3rd best record in the NBA behind only Portland and Chicago. And he was ahead of D. Robinson, C. Barkley, K. Malone and C. Drexler in MVP voting and those guys were 6, 4, 4, and 3 years younger than him that season.

Wosile Yes, but I was mentioning the last 3 games bc games 5-7 resulted in Cavaliers wins, and without Bogut or Draymond in game 5, Cavs easily won. They won game 6 at home, and game 7 still without Bogut and Curry choking to end the game, we know it would’ve been a different series had Bogut and Draymond been able to play every game
