Yeh man, the discussion should be about who is your favourite not who is GOAT. The discussion is so stupid. It’s not comparable. It’s literally different leagues
TheChunlilover I don't even like LeBron like that. He only bringing up ONE stat, like, LeBron has worst stats this year he can bring up. But the same one every single time? Especially one like plus/minus, a stat that doesn't account for the production of players on the court at the time.
DH It's always an interesting subject because it's an arguable one and can go either way because it's a matter of opinion and personal perspective. Choose one, there are a bunch of supporting points for it, choose the other, and there are a bunch of supporting points for it. This is always an interesting topic and will be for the next many years. Almost every single sports fan has an opinion on this topic, and it just truly shows us how great these two guys were and are.
Jordan is the GOAT for a ton of reasons. One reason is that while Lebron is supposedly the "greatest all around player in nba history" Michael Jordan has the most complete resume in NBA history. Jordan has the stats unlike Russell. He has the rings unlike Wilt. He was the best player in all his rings unlike Kareem, Kobe or Shaq. He took the game globally unlike Bird & Magic who took the game nationally. He dominated the league unlike Lebron who only dominated the conference
You ain't never seen Michael Jordan score 8 pts in the Finals, Shannon. You ain't never seen MJ shoot 13 shots in a Finals game, Shannon. You ain't never seen MJ disappear in the Finals! I think that's enough said. There's a lot of great players. LeBron is amazing. But the "little" things make the difference, greatness is in those "little" things. A 2011 Finals perfomance like that - it's one of those little things that makes it impossible to call LBJ the GOAT. PS You talkin about Jordan playing with an all-star ? LeBron went to Miami to play with Wade and Bosh......... Are you serious ?
addivt obviously the celtics were known for the big 3. Kg 35, Allen 35, PP 33...and yet pistons are considered old with Thomas and rodman 30, laimbeer 33, dumars is actually younger than mj.

Jordan would never have asked Magic,Bird,Barkley or any great player of his time to team up to win championships. That's why he is and will always be the GOAT !
The reason Lebron will never be seen as better than MJ is because of Phil Jackson. Spoelstra was a great coach but he's no Phil Jackson and Tyron Lue, at times, looks like he has no idea what he was doing. Lebron has had to continually lead his team basically by himself to the finals where the other teams are way better than any team MJ ever faced. The Warriors and the Spurs are two of the best teams ever. The Spurs won four championships together and (without even counting the one Duncan won in 99) and the warriors own the best record of all time, before they even got Durant, who will end up being, at least, at top 20 player of all time and is probably a better scorer than MJ. Lebron has had to deal with better team than MJ ever had to face and it's because Jordan had a good coach and a good organization where Lebron has had pretty bad ones. If Pat Riley had coached the heat instead of Spoelstra, not only would Lebron still be there, but I have no doubt he would have seven straight finals and be considered the best player of all time.
Arjan Ang Oh your right...MJ just beat Magics Lakers the bad boy Pistons Regies pacers Malone and Stoctons Jazz Shawn Kemp's sonics ect.. MJ was soo god damn good he left basketball it was just too easy no challenge left. Then he comes back and STILL dominated. Lets all admit her would have won 8 finals if he never retired.

People forgot that when MJ was drafted by Chicago their franchise was one of the wrost in the league. Same as Cleveland nobody wanted to play with the Bulls so for the first 3 peat they had to build their core through the draft. Leaving can't be used as an excuse.
The thing is LeBron carried them so much that they never got good draft picks. They constantly placed top 5 so they never got the good picks. The bulls tanked.
^^^ yep. The Bulls in Jordan's first 3 seasons didn't reach over 40 wins, and I think way too many people forget about MJ not doing anything before he had Phil Jackson coaching him. LeBron was leading a 50 win team in his 3rd year.

LeBron is LeBron & MJ is MJ. Mj had a great career & LeBron career still going at the end of the day MJ fans will see him as the GOAT & LeBron fans will see LeBron as the GOAT that just the way it is
It's really that simple. I mean, this whole MJ vs LeBron is silly. Silly might not be an apt word to describe it, but you get my point. LeBron's LeBron. Okay, he might not surpass MJ in terms of rings, but his career should be highly appreciated. His longevity, outspokenness, pass-first mannerism, is another realm. Plus, with that much scrutiny, he lived up to the expectation. We will have to wait for years to have this kind of talent.
O you mean losing in 95 and recruiting rodman after? No Rodman no Jordan...well no pippen no Jordan either....Jordan was losing in the first round and getting swept before he got pippen
The mentality of MJ is to win! He made his team mates look better! He didn't complain about getting other great players. Confidence gave him all the titles...Beat that!!!

Jordan won 3 in a row then his Dad was murdered. He took 2 years off. Then came back and won 3 more in a row. He would’ve won 8 in a row. Yes, would’ve blown out Hakeem. 8 in a row. EASY Edit: I need to add THIS. Not only would he have won 8 in a ROW, if stupid Jerry Krause (well I shouldn’t call him stupid, he’s dead), but if less than intelligent at the time Jerry Krause had not allowed the great Dynasty to be broken up, Jordan and Co. would’ve won 10+ in a ROW. It's also debatable, that if MJ had played that full season and been in basketball shape they'd have won. The next year they went 72-10. It's all speculation but it sure feels like if MJ didnt take the years off the Bulls wouldn't have lost.
You forgot when he returned and was good enough to score 45 in the garden but got beat by Orlando in the playoffs and then went and begged Rodman to join

@@victordelacruz4449 miami got chris bosh and lebron to win twice and lakers got AD and Lebron. Lebron alone didnt make those teams better. lebron didnt even reach finals without AD
Agree with Rapaport's analysis. But the one thing I wish he had mentioned was Jordan's obsessive drive to win with the hand he was dealt. With the exception of only 4 starter players (Rodman, Longley Cartwright and Harper) on both 3 peat teams, everyone was home grown. And of those free agent/received starters, with the exception of Rodman, no one was an All-Star or exceptional at their position. Most were drafted by the Bulls. He didn't hop around looking for a super team. He took what he got and made every single player on his roster better. He didn't just make the team better with some arbitrary stat. He made every player on the roster pick up more than they could carry by scrimmaging with them, teaching them and testing them to be the best that they could be. James has never done that. His championships were won with made men: Wade, Bosh, Irving, Love and now with Davis. Bottomline: James finds (or receives) the pieces to win championships. Jordan grooms his pieces to win championships. Jordan= The GOAT
I also wish they would have mentioned the Bulls in 94-95 were 34-31 before MJ came back and finished strong with him at 13-4 and snuck into the 5 seed. They were struggling terribly in season 2 without him and wound up winning 72 games and another title the following yr with him, as well as the next 2, including playing without Pippen for 38 games in 97-98 and still winning 62 games and the title.

If someone were to win more championships, accolades and become better in most major statistical categories, would you still call MJ the goat? Please give me your honest opinion
@@ccbgaming6994 Yes indeed, I would still call MJ the GOAT. You need to put conditions of the individual performances to the reality of that period and circumstances. Even if a player would not win a single championship but his individual performance is the best ever that person would potentially still be the GOAT. The issue here is he was way better than the best of his era, he was and still is the most creative player ever and I do not believe there will be a more creative player ever. Wembanyama can and most probably will beat everyone in statistics at the end of his career, but put a Kenny lofton JR against him, he will struggle. That was not the case with MJ they threw everything possible at him in his era he still outclassed them all by a mile.
@baybarshan2500 So you’re saying that someone could win 10 chips, 10 mvps, 10 fmvp, 5 dpoy, more all-star selections, average 35 pts, 10 ast, 15 trb, 60% fg, 45% fg3, 90% fr, break the scoring record, play against the toughest teams ever with an unstacked team himself, and you would still call MJ the goat?
@@ccbgaming6994 Yes, Lebron doesn't have the creativity and resilience as MJ ! To be the GOAT only stats are NOT enough MJ had close stats too but he had more than that and Lebron doesn't have that !
@baybarshan2500 First of all, ARE YOU ON DRUGS?! Let’s make it clear that I’m talking about a hypothetical player in the future, not Lebron, not any current player, not any prospective player. How is it that you can look at that list and say MJ would still be the goat. This hypothetical player would have to have even more creativity and resilience to accomplish what they did. You’re either an MJ d-rider or done gone overdosed.
Only reason MJ never came back from a 3-1 deficit in the finals, is that he never let the other team win more than 2 games. They should stop giving Lebron credit for that, because to com back from 3-1 you first have to lose 3 games. Which Michael never did in a finals series.
That probably speaks to the level of competition he played. It’s not that MJ never let the series go 7. It’s that the other teams couldn’t go 7 cause they were not talented enough.

When lebron played with the heatles dwade made the all NBA 1st team once and Bosh none. Pippen was multiple time 1st team and rodman was the best rebounder in the game. Bosh ain't that good at rebounding the ball as rodman and while playing with lebron he was a offensive bust to me, averaging in his best heat season 18.7pts and 8reb; he ain't get more points and rebounds average then in his first season which is his best one. The problem which is hard to admit is that dwade and Bosh were already on a descending stage of their career. Matter fact LeBron won twice the MVP and the FMVP in the 2yrs they won. And idc if u say "Allen saved his legacy" the man (Allen) scored 0 points in game 7 and Bosh scored 0 either. And talking about Phil Jackson wasn't a great coach, I bet if u left Doug Collins there for more years Jordan would've had like 40ppg and still 0 chips. Jackson came there and took those guys on school of "how to be a winner Michael", because Jordan wasn't considered a winner at the time. And then, people argue LeBron had more help, tell me how many players lebron played with were in all NBA 1st/2nd team while playing with lebron, and how many were in nba 1st/2nd team while playing with Jordan huh. Bro Jordan let the bulls win the championship don't mistake my takes, Jordan is 1of1 even though I'm a lebron fan, but he had always a better team and organization than lebron has ever dreamed of, and went against weakest team than them all the time. LeBron was always the underdog for 6 time he went to the final. The only time he had the best team were in 2011/2012/2013 and with the Lakers in 2020, and guess what he won 3 out of 4, plus against the best team ever as the gws in 2016.

Shazayum he did complain, but not all the time. He , and Pippen also did something about it. They hit the weights and got physically stronger to combat the bully pistons. The bullies could no longer beat the Bulls psychologically and that’s part of the reason the Bulls eventually prevailed.
Lebron also benefits from playing in the softest era of basketball ever, where if you breathe on someone it's a foul. Jordan played against some of the toughest defenses when there wasn't such a thing as a flagrant foul any time he drove the lane and got hammered each possession.
You'd have to be stupid to think that playing in the NBA was harder than it is now. There is a MUCH higher level of competition now. People always talk about how Lebron conditions himself so well to where he can withstand the durability and longevity he does, but that doesn't just apply to him. In today's NBA you have to offer that kind of commitment to your body and health to even have a chance of playing basketball at a high level. Jordan competed against great like Stockton and Bird, who obviously did not have that same commitment and frankly don't have the skill level to come close to the NBA today. Lebron has been competing and dominating against world class athletes for 82 game stretches for 16 years!! This is while maintaining the longevity and durbality and dominating game in and game out!!! The NBA is only getting harder and more difficult as time goes by and Lebron is the standard for anyone moving forward. This makes him the GOAT imo.
detsportsfan18 this is the #1 fact the younger generation can't grasp ....When Jordan played, he hand to be a Master and have a black belt in Brazilian jujitsu because there was hand checking at that time...today you can't even touch the player. His Game Score total was a lackluster 13.7 - showing that is overall productivity throughout the series was a bit over average
I've been saying, there's just a different admiration, respect and charisma when a player wins several championship with his original team or with 1 team. MJ was good, if not great when he was a rookie, Pippen and the rest who joined MJ as a rookie wasn't as good or great when they started. They all were pushed, inspired, bullied by MJ to get better and they got better as a team. LBJ, joined an already established great champion and an already established great player in D. Wade when he won his ring, then he also joined an already established great player in Kyrie Irving. LBJ hasn't won a ring where he helped the team grow and developed as a unit. It was always enhanced through adding other great superstars. Granted, MJ's 2nd 3peat was something similar when they added Rodman, but they were aging already at that time. Remove MJ on his 1st 3peat Bulls and remove LBJ on his Miami championship team, who do you guys think would win in that series if they play against each other? I'm pretty sure most of you would pick D.Wade & Bosh's Miami, over Pip & Grant's Bulls. Point is, Wade and Bosh was already stars, Wade was already a proven champion when LBJ won with Miami, while Pip only developed into a superstar within the Bulls

Dominic dominic how many u got
Arjan Ang I believe he only did it once and not a different team was ever as good so that didn't happen lol
Different eras🤦🏾♂️ we live in a world where there is a lot more talent in the league in general.. Just like everything else the game is evolving.. Jordan was in a time where there was 1 superstar to a team on average, LOTS more balance then
@@gspazzthaassassin the league now is much less physical making scoring much easier. There are no physical, larger defenders like Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, Mutumbo, Mourning, Larry Johnson, Anthony Mason, Malone, Barkley... Centers now are beanstalk hanging out by the 3 point line not clogging the lane making it easy for ANY player to score very easy baskets. Look at the posterizing dunk from 20-25 yrs ago and now. The player then was jumping over or through 3-5 players or a 7 foot tree of a human trying to tackle him to stop him. Now it's over a guy just standing there trying to get a charge. Players stayed on teams or only were one per team because of loyalty to their franchises or they had pride.

Lemme tell u some, did u know that it doesn't matter if wade and Bosh were far better scorer than pippen and rodman ever dreamed of, u gotta understand that scoring is not the only way to win. LeBron had 37/12/4 but everyone give credits to ray Allen in that series because of a shot in game 6. Obviously was important but it was a shot, ppl seem like they forget what lebron did all along that series AVG 25.3/10.9/7, and 2 times dude had triple doubles including the one in game 6. But people saying Allen saved LeBron legacy, like nah bro LeBron saved his own legacy by himself having 32/11/10, u can't count out lebron for what he did because if it wasn't for him , the Spurs had their title in game 4 tho. What I'm saying is that Jordan had better player at that stage of their career, and better all around players like kukoc (HOF), like Kerr (best shooter at the time). And when Jordan won his first 3 rings w/o those guys he had Orace Grant, Paxson exc... Those teams were crazily good, matter fact pippen carried both the year Jordan wasn't there far in the PO.
Michael Rapaport is Absolutely Correct, Absolutely Right, ON POINT 👍👍👍
Lebron quits when the heat gets tough. MJ would rather die than surrender.
One year. 2011. Other than that LeBron has always gone into the heat. Even Jordan got eliminated. Learn basketball scrub
@@boiiiitellyouwat9208 Lol, 2018 finals he just straight up quit and got swept. He went on a press conference with a cast in his hand.
Jordan got eliminated but he did not quit. This is evidence
Bulls vs Pistons
88= 4-1 Pistons
89= 4-2 Pistons
90= 4-3 Pistons
91= 4-0 Bulls.
He worked hard into making that bulls team one of the Greatest team of all time.
Its a testament to MJ he never quit if this lebron he would have jumped ship in 89 already and joined probably stockton and malone.
DeciPher Twenty three the pistons were not the warriors at all
@@demonreacts5908 Still a back to back champ with a loaded squad. LBJ got to the finals only to get 8-1 in two series.
DeciPher Twenty three yeah what team was lebron on? The warriors were likely the best team of all time, and in 2018 lebron has one of his worst team since 2007. come on dude, you bring no context
2 3-peats, 6 finals MVP's, never went to a game 7 in the finals, 6 put of 6 finals. And the most aggressive competitor the world has ever seen. When you're playing basketball with the homies, you yell out "Kobe!" during a jump shot or "Jordan!" when you dunk. I've never heard peeps say "LeBron!", cause they FLOPPED on the park cement.
Luis Martinez how many times did Jordan get eliminated in the first round of the playoffs? What about LeBron?
LOL man but people do say that when people flop hahaha
What talent if his talented he will never leaved cleveland and joined two superstar.he is weak

Jordan complained about the pistons being dirty all the time...
Shazayum ong but people forget
Shazayum he did complain, but not all the time. He , and Pippen also did something about it. They hit the weights and got physically stronger to combat the bully pistons. The bullies could no longer beat the Bulls psychologically and that’s part of the reason the Bulls eventually prevailed.
What was there to complain about? The Pistons openly admitted their entire approach every time they played MJ.
Shazayum proof is the pistons admitting they used dirty play n i seen these games
They were dirty... look up photos.. lambier is the most dirty player of all time watch tape
The biggest thing I see between LB and MJ is, to quote Shoresy, is LB doesn't hate to lose. That is the crux of it. MJ loved to win but hated to lose.
Lebron also benefits from playing in the softest era of basketball ever, where if you breathe on someone it's a foul. Jordan played against some of the toughest defenses when there wasn't such a thing as a flagrant foul any time he drove the lane and got hammered each possession.
Exactly.
When Jordan played, he also had to have a black belt in Kong Fu if he was even thinking about driving through the lane for a layup or a dunk... Because trust me, the other players at that time did have those belts and were more than willing to show you how they got them.
I can't even watch Professional Basketball today because of how soft it is. #Facts
Jedd Seredni my man...Larry Bird would make it rain for days on Lebron with his long range shooting.
Pump those brakes chief ✋🏿✋🏿 Pump those brakes.

They always forget Jordan left 93 to 94 then came out of retirement and won 3 championships James has had to play longer to achieve what Jordan did in less time I'm sorry Jordan would have another 10000 plus points and this debate wouldn't even come up
Thats crazy
Fewer shots taken by Lebron🤷🏿♂️

Longevity is an argument for LeBron he is on top for much long then Michael could.
LeBron showing he is more durable than Jordan.
When Michael Jordan played, Basketball was the undisputed #1 Sport in America, heck it was popularized almost everywhere around the Globe, Basketball has never been at a higher point comparatively with other sports than when Michael Jordan was the Face of the NBA

Lebron can't even make Basketball the #1 Sport in the United States, NFL is the king atm, more revenue from far less games

I agree, internet has information moving too fast to really appreciate one player the way Michael Jordan was appreciate.
Damn when this topic comes on everybody mentions 2011 Mavs but didnt they sweep the lakers with Kobe before Heat and LBJ?
Nobody talks about that because it wasn’t in the finals lol
Kobe ain’t get shut down by JJ Barea and didn’t disappear!!
tony tonyt Kobe didn't have 2 other all-stars on his team and didn't score 8 points in a crucial game like ya boy LeChoke😂😂😂
Lebron wasnt coming off 3 str8 finals like Kobe was. Also...LeBron had 2 other all stars with him....Kobe didnt
Dario Jugović Kobe averaged 23 against Dallas while Lebron only averaged 17 4 straight 4th quarters with 2 points or less. 2011 NBA finals
Lebron was third on the team in scoring, committed 24 total turnovers, and only shot 60% from the free throw line.

THEN he beat Magic/Worthy/Perkins/Scott
Next year, he beat Clyde Drexler and the Trail Blazers
The next year, he beat Charles Barkley in the best year of his career (for a guy who is arguably the greatest small forward in history) who also had KJ, Majerle, Tom Chambers, Danny Ainge... and that's just the first three. OH, and by the way, this is when teams played DEFENSE... and MJ got hammered every single night...

The Bulls were 34-31 in the 1994 when MJ came back and finished 47-35. Yeah, they lost to the Magic, but this man was retired and played 17 regular season games and had this impact on his team. Then next year, return to dominance.
So baseball Jordan impact was that high to the team then let's imagine it's Basketball MJ 😂😂
95 not 94
Yeah and they won 55 games without him.
How are the 1991 Lakers old? Magic was 31, Worthy was 29 and Byron Scott was 29.....so in that case when LeBron finally BEAT the Celtics in 2011 and 2012 with Garnett 35, Pierce 36 and Allen 34 they werent old?
