    Hi,
    FSRealistic here.
    Thank you for a great review and a professional walk-around!

    How is this different than just using the drone cam to move around?

    I have used FSRealistic from XP11 to MS2020 and it is a great addon. Just turn off the effects you don't want and tone down the ones you do.
    NOTE: The beta 'Low Altitude Turbulence' effect setting however can cause problems with the PMDG 737, so I would advise people to turn that one off.
    Otherwise it's great, and always love a real thump and shake when those tyres hit the runway on landing. 😎

    You forgot to check the windshield cleaner fluid levels, or the dip stick for the oil quantity, tire pressure, turn signals, headlights, reverse lights. My goodness, did you even check to see if there was corrosion over the battery terminals? Geez what kind of walkaround is this? 🤪 (just kidding)

      @@flightdeck2sim I presume there's no paper tick sheet to complete when you do the walkaround. Or is there? It would be a lot of reading and ticking if there is, but very easy to miss out something important if there isn't!

      Hi Chris! 👋
      There is both walk around guidance in the FCOM and tech log but neither need to be used or referenced during the walk around, it’s done by memory.
      Every single sector a visual inspection is completed by Pilot Monitoring and every night engineers complete a ramp inspection. This can be extended up to 48 hours day if you ended up having to overnight at an airport with no engineering cover.

    It would be great if you could assign the a and d keys to turn left and right instead of the mouse. The mouse constantly activates the menu, and there’s no need to sidle left and right. People just don’t walk that way.

    I must download FS Realistic. I'm also interested in one of those 'buttkicker' devices that transfers physical vibrations (flaps, landing gear, taxiing etc) to your gaming seat.

    as a ground handler its interesting to hear about different procedures for different airlines. you say at 9:37 that you usually load the front hold on the 800, this is completely opposite from the way the airlines I work with do it. We usually only load the back hold and leave the front hold for transfer baggage, or if the rear hold is full. Main reason for this I think is because they use sliding carpets in the rear so its quicker for us to load the rear

    • @flightdeck2sim
      @flightdeck2sim  Рік тому +1

      Interesting! Yes our loading policy for the -800 is as follows.
      1. 160 Bags aft of the front door and then 30 fwd of the front door.
      2. If over 190 (never seen it) the rest into the rear hold fwd of the rear hold door and then the remainder overspilling to the rear of the aft hold door.

      Not a baggage handler but when I was on the ground we usually split the baggage evenly between both holds. Interesting how different companies'SOPs are.

    Don’t often see the pilot or 1st officer do a walk around. Do you also check the “RAT” and what about checking secrete areas for smuggled goods? I mean you discovered a hidden painting..
    great add on and video.

      Hi Andrew! The 737 doesn't have a RAT and there is no need to open panels to check for smuggled goods!

      @@flightdeck2sim very interesting FD2S your completely correct, the 777 has one, as the 737-800 still has mechanical connection, I guess between the yoke / rudder pedals and the control surfaces. I just assumed the 737 had a RAT, but was wrong.
      Still looking forward to you trying out the 727 cargo full of Alpaca wool in XP12. :)

    At 7:23 what is that delta shaped inlet in the wing? Is it another ram air? What is it for? is it for cooling the flight controls or something else?

    • @gardsreng6337
      @gardsreng6337 Рік тому

      not sure myself, but might be a fuel overflow valve of some sort. If the fuelers accidentally fills all the tanks completely fuel will start draining out of this port to prevent damage to the fuel system

      That’s not from PMDG! As mentioned in the video the artefact is caused by the First Person view, an issue FSRealistic are aware of and will hopefully rectify 👌🏻

      @SpidaMez Рік тому

      @@flightdeck2sim The issue is that anything you can change (Standbye instrument, HUD, etc) are all covered by black squares before loading, and PMDG did not think that people would glitch out of the cockpit to see it, so they just put a black square there to cover the window area. I first found this out when I tried getting window views.
