Guessed 4/4 + 5/4, but I like the idea of making a larger phrase and just calling it 9/4! Makes it more fluid.

      Good job!
4/4 + 5/4 is more or less the correct answer since that is one of the subdivisions of this 9/4 (another one is 2+2+2+3). The reason I use 9/4 instead of 4/4 + 5/4 is that it's a bit easier for most to understand, and also when you write two time signatures it doesn't necessarily mean that they are always in that order. It's not entirely uncommon in classical music to see two time signatures but it doesn't mean that they always follow each other strictly. Check out this example by Tchaikovsky:

(Hope you can see the picture/link). There you have a 6/8 + 9/8 but there are two bars of 6/8 and then one bar of 9/8. I think this clarifies what I mean! :)
Anyway, we are into extremely small details now and that is not really the purpose of these videos. The most important thing is that you counted to 9/4 in some way!
Well done, and thanks for your comment!

@@JakeBorg thats a great example and I agree. calling it 9/4 also allows the subdivisions within itself to change fluidly. to also use Tchaikovsky as an example, in his symphony no. 6 mvt. 2, its in 5/4 and switches from 2+3 to 3+2 at times.

Have you ever come across an irrational time signature. It only exists for transitions as it can be substituted with metric modulation but I've made use of it in a piano piece

I don't think I've ever seen an irrational time signature "out in the wild" in my everyday piano gig job. Only in theory. Do you have a link? :)

@@JakeBorg by irrational it just means the denominator is something like 3 or 5. I felt I made it sound a little confusing. I've come across videos covering it but have only seen a video on instagram playing a piece with 7/12 and I made use of 4/3 in a piece. I don't think I have a link :/

Good job, you are on track. I think you have subdivided a step too much but you got the overall structure right! ;)
