I could be way off here but I think the L/R switch on the bottom is for if the wheels start to become unaligned over time, you can toggle the switch to whatever direction it requires to align them again. I remember old RC cars from the 80's had that issue. Especially if you bump them into stuff too much while driving. Wheels would get unaligned easily.

I wonder how it does outside? I have the Spin master Batmoble it's not very fast and cant go over curbs or even uphill very good but t looks cool and I think the ejector seat is pretty neat.
they should make the REMOTE CONTROL w/ internal batteries rechargeble too !!! 4:58 that batteries is outdated !!! Besides the car it's too small but even so, i would like to have this rc car.

You're exactly right. Even high end rc cars have alignment adjusting only instead of it being on the bottom of the car, it's built into the radio.
They missed an opportunity to make the controller look like Doc Browns in the 1st movie lol
