    Had similar experience with the CA Traverse 300 PRC. Sent it back to them (~2021), they returned it saying it was within its accuracy standards. Called Hornady and returned factory ammo (212 edl-x). Hornady sent back the ammo and said there were no issues. Finally, in Feb 2024 I sent the rifle back to CA and they inspected the barrel and stated that the barrel was the source of my accuracy issues. CA replaced my barrel with a new one. They also sent me the targets and it was shooting less than .5 MOA at 300’. I got the rifle home and now I’m consistently shooting 1-.75 MOA. I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for sharing this video and thanks to CA for making things right!!!Subscribed.

      Dude you're lucky. Got a Fierce mountain reaper in 7PRC - $3200US. They guarantee a .5MOA. If you think the groups the CA produced were bad imagine spending that much and seeing 5-6 inch groups with the Hornady outfitter CX Ammo. Went as far as mounting it the scope with separate rings and testing it on another rifle thinking the scope conked out but no... that's how it shoots the solid ammo. Shame because the whole reason i bout it was sustenance hunting without having to deal with lead in my families meat.
      Glad CA did you right, from what I am hearing about Fierce i am in for a heck of a battle.

      @@foonus406 that sucks, that was one of the reasons I chose ca over fierce, was the company seemed easier to deal with. The worst to date was Beretta, then Kimber. Both were terrible shit shows.

      We shot quite a bit over the weekend, 4 different powders and 4 different bullets. Got decent results with the CX and 168 Barnes lrx. But they are flipping picky

    I have a 300 mag Ridgeline and it was the most money ive spent on a hunting rifle to date. Ive been severely disappointed in the accuracy of this rifle. I reached out to Christensen arms and they recommended a few different loads to try, but the grouping are all over the place. Ive been shooting rifles many years and this isnt normal. You are lucky to have them take care of you. Afyer my experience i cannot recommended them to any if my hunting buddies. The rifle maybe has 3 boxes of shells shot through it.

    Was really glad to see this video. I've heard so many bad things about Christensen Arms CS and QC - seems they had some bad apples that nearly ruined what I had previously thought of as being a good brand. I was on the edge, about to pull the trigger, and buy a different rifle - but I really, really wanted the RL FFT in a 22" with bronze. It's like a fishing lure, when they're painted on top and no the bottom - and it's a top water lure, who you think they painted it for? Well, it worked - I was sold on the look of the rifle as much as I was the features - because when I shoot something, I want it's last thought to be; dang, that's a nice lookin' rifle.
    So, very glad to hear they're making an effort to restore their brand and do right by their customers, of which I am one of now as a result of seeing this video. They've got a lot of work ahead of them, though. Their brand suffered a lot degradation for a long time on forums - that's left a taste in the mouths of many and a historical record that comes up in searches and they've got to make such an effort as to overcome that when people go searching.
    That only happens, though, if people give them a chance - so here we are.

    Glad they made it right or are working to make it right. I had a 6.5 prc ridgeline & it shot very well. All the bad reviews had me not wanting to push my luck but I found a sweet 7 prc ridgeline. After the holidays I’ll call back & figure out exactly what I have. So far so good no issues with it either.

      @@hedgeapplehomestead2816 my 7 prc doesn’t show to even be a ridgeline option. It’s like it’s a scouts big brother. Tan stock , black receiver, mb , thread protector & 24”. I wish they offered a 6 creed in the ridgeline or a faster twist in 243.

    I think two amazing thing happened here. Christensen stepping up and equally, you taking the time to recognize both the positive and providing real-world assessments. I'm leaning fwd in getting one in a 6.5 PRC. You may want to look at Tract Scopes. I like the Toric 2.5 - 15 at least as much as NF

    The stocks are great along with the carbon fiber barrels, but you’re getting a mod 700 Rem action and bolt, I’ve had a few come across my bench and for the most part they’re not paying attention to detail like sharp edges that cuts up the brass coming out of the magazine, bolt locking lugs, the receiver in general.. de burring is essential for a smooth operating rifle, there is no replacement for quality so don’t put profit first.. reputation is what matters and it doesn’t take much to lose it.

    • @hedgeapplehomestead2816
      @hedgeapplehomestead2816  7 місяців тому

      That was the main problem with the first one, it had burrs all over the inside and the lugs were trash. They didn't address any of that and sent it back. The new one is night and day different. But still not awesome, the sucker shoots though. I'll probably put a tubbs spring in it to see if it helps the bolt. I still wouldn't recommend or buy another. Fingers crossed for a waypoint in 7prc as I really like the cartridge.

    I plan to send both mine back. It is the same gun in 3006. Has a short throat and will not chamber any of my LC Match I shoot in all my other guns. Also have a Scout 308 that after a bunch of range trips and 10 Factory loads will only do 2 to 3" groups. The Ruger SFAR have will out shoot it. I find if funny how many sharp edges that action has.

    • @hedgeapplehomestead2816
      @hedgeapplehomestead2816  7 місяців тому

      The burrs was a main problem with mine, it destroyed brass, and the headspace was out, among other issues, but I'd definitely give them a chance to sort it out.

    Hi Sir, I purchased a Christensen Ridgeline and have had accuracy, feeding, and bolt hang up issues. I have sent the rifle back once and when I received it back from Christensen, there was no improvement. They put a larger bolt knob on the bolt handle and told me it was fine. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks for the good content and sharing your experience.

    So I’m currently looking at rifles chambered in 7mm PRC and I was told that a CA Ridgeline was a great choice. Now after multiple videos watched and pages of forums read it seems I’ve been told a lie. Is the ridgeline really worth $2,000? If not, is there another rifle in 7 prc that you would recommend?

    • @hedgeapplehomestead2816
      @hedgeapplehomestead2816  2 місяці тому +2

      No, I'd look at the browning x bolt, even the gen 2 Ruger American when it becomes available. I'm not sure if Tikka will ever produce one.
      You could get a Ruger American, chassis, and a decent scope for what the CA Ridgeline carbon costs. But if I did it again, I'd go with the browning if I can only have one.

    I must’ve been lucky, I have a Mesa in a 300 Win Mag and it flat shoots. Is the problem with the Ridgeline?

    • @hedgeapplehomestead2816
      @hedgeapplehomestead2816  6 місяців тому

      No, the shop I go to the owners grandson had a mesa that wouldn't shoot. There 6 CA rifles between me and the guys I regularly hunt with. 2 had issues, one cracked stock on a Ridgeline, and then mine. But CA is trying to fix the issues. It's inconvenient, but at least you're not high and dry.

    Solid copper bullets don't shoot well after a barrel has been fouled with lead bullets try cleaning the barrel and try them again it will probably shoot those really well also
