Great finds congrats, the size of the plug means nothing, its how it looks when your done, I have been watching you and your dad detect for along time and you guys do a great job on cleaning up your plugs
Sweet Trifecta! You don't know me but you may know my uncle, Bob K. from Missouri. He told me he used to hunt with you when you used to live out there. Huge fan of your channel though!
Good call on that merc! Would have been nice for us to hit an old yard on our good days, then we both would have had trifectas. lol. =P That pin is some cool local history. Remember that big token looking thing I found the other day? Someone wasn't sitting right with me as I knew I've seen the design before. I cleaned it up and it's a, 1800's foreign coin, and semi-rare too. Uploading vid now.
Sweet finds! I'm having trouble with knocking doors? About 30% yes right now, it'll turn around! I did watch your vids on knocking doors and it did help me to find my first silver quarter so Preesh!
SilverHustlin13 Congrats on your first silver quarter! Some areas are worse than others for door knocking so don't get discouraged. We hit a street the other day where it was like 5/6 said no then we started getting more yeses. Some parts of town the people won't even open their door so you gotta try to talk through it which is usually a no LOL. Then again other areas are great and high yes rate. All I know is keep going and you will get more yeses and get to detect and if not you won't =)
North Texas - Hey bud can't reply to your below message because of some Google issue so I'll reply here. Of course I know Bob he played a major role in me buying my first e-trac =) Tell him he needs to put up some more videos lol Glad you like the channel GL and HH!
Congrats Rusty on the trifecta, that old pin is super cool. Man, you just can't catch a break on the electronics, I should start a Go-Fund page for you to get a new pinpointer that actually works...lol. It was really frustrating when mine was falsing, it sometimes quadruples your recovery time which can be really annoying. HH -Greg
Hillbilly fromWV Yep it's pretty frustrating lol. But the worse part is that I actually have 2 pointers. My main one quit and I had a brand new backup and it started having issues within the first week. So 2 bad pro pointers and Dad also had 2 that were bad. Borrowed one from a friend and it worked perfectly... So I sent FOUR bad pointers in to Garrett of which 2 were like new but out of warranty due to being in my truck as a backup for a year. Cost me $100 to get all of them fixed and they sent me 4 new ones. Glad I got new ones but pretty sad such a high fail rate on those. Hopefully the GArrett Carrot is better.
Wow, did you cut that barber? Congrats on the Trifecta, some excellent digs. Some cool other finds as well. Ihear ya about swinging that 17 around a few hours..work. My stock coil fizzeled last weekend and I swung the 17 all day. My arm was ready to fall off.
DetectingtheBurgh That sucks your stock coil went bad. My CTX is on the verge of quitting and hopefully it will last until the heat of summer and I'll send it in. The barber dime was cut already. GL and HH =)
Silverindahole Thanks! Ya some people just say the plugs are big but they don't realize that the camera makes them look much bigger. Plus experienced detectorists know how to clean em up even if they are big =) GL and HH!
I just purchased the Garrett Pro pointer AT. I would get rid of your black ones and get the new one..I use mine over my X-1 and its stable and a whole lot better than my old whites TRX
Duggr I sent 4 in for repair and hopefully they'll come back in working order and last a while. I've heard good things about the Garrett Carrots but I'll probably just shoe goop my old ones for now =)
Congrats on your trifecta! My uncle worked at ALCOA for years; they make aluminum, casting it into many different shapes, including giant rolls. He wore that pin on his uniform pocket. BTW, your CTX seems to be working OK now. Was it just a glitch?
ICdigger Very cool about your uncle did you grow up in TN? CTX is still having issues. Now the down button doesn't work at all. Some days it works fine other days it goes haywire or the buttons don't work. I'm hoping it will last me until the weather gets hot and I'll be in the water with the AT Pro and send this junker in.
Smells Like Silver Haven't done much testing with it yet but I did go over an area I had been to with the stock coil and pulled a few more coins so possibly so =) I'm pretty sure it will go deeper especially on larger silver.
Sounds like it might be the ticket for a few areas that I have covered also that I suspect may hold quite a few deeeeeep coins. Everything I have found there (of value) was a minimum of 10". I'm certain there are some that I just couldn't pick up with the 13" ultimate coil.
Great job man! I just got my first trifecta last weekend

yepper plum-bob...brass...i got one of those once too....mine was bigger...and hollow...yours looks to be a lot older solid brass
Yes it's for a Plum Bob you are rite .
Sweet trifecta!!!
What do you call it when you get a trifecta plus a seated?
A quad-fecta? I've never seen anyone do it...
Just a random question..
I just purchased the Garrett Pro pointer AT. I would get rid of your black ones and get the new one..I use mine over my X-1 and its stable and a whole lot better than my old whites TRX

didn't know they made 1916 barbers...overlapping the 1916 mercs...nice!
Accuracy Marked Yep pretty cool =)

He worked at the ALCOA plant near LeClaire, IA. Sounds like a good plan for dealing with your CTX issue.
ICdigger LeClaire is only a couple of hours from me. That is a beautiful area. Gorgeous river views and fall color.
Is there another brand of Pro Pointers you would recommend since you are having trouble with so many Garrett??
I had garrett pointers 3 different times and none lasted more than 30 days. Switched to whites TRX a couple of years ago. Best pointer ever.
I forgot to ask you...Did you find that you could get significant more depth with the 17" Coil?
Smells Like Silver Haven't done much testing with it yet but I did go over an area I had been to with the stock coil and pulled a few more coins so possibly so =) I'm pretty sure it will go deeper especially on larger silver.

Cutaplug Metal Detecting where did you get your shovel at man? I've been wanting a lightweight shovel like that. Good hunt by the way .
Ed at treasuremtndetectors.com is a local dealer and carries them in stock you should give him a call.
Hey thanks for the info man.
Never know what you are going to come up on.
