Percival!! Nasty bird!!
4:20 One of the best introductions to any zone ! Meeting up with Reshad outside the Spires of Arak, seeing all the outcasts hobble from Talador into Arak with their refugee backpacks and travel sacks. Then one of the outcasts yells " The Adherents have launched another attack !" and everyone starts panicking and running. You're running with them then you see a massive sunbeam level a city ! "The Adherents have destroyed Veil Akraz ! The whole city is on fire ! ".
I loved that moment !
This curse has not broken me yet.
As soon as you arrive in the Spires and listen to this, you can feel the sorrow that surround the outcasts. Then you move some more and *see it happening*. Everything starts to make sense, and suffering becomes tangible.
I love this map over all others in Draenor.
I agree, the story here was very well done. You definitely felt attached to and cared for the characters and their plight.
Edward Lavaden I wouldn't give Blizzard *that* much credit Edward, but other than that I agree. I found the Arrakoa a boring nuisance in BC, and was expecting Arak to be an utter drag. Then I met Iskar in Talador, and yeah you know the rest! I hope we get to reclaim Skettis as a refuge, the Arrakoa don't do enough after Spires.
Edward Lavaden and please don't use the phrase 'chains of subjugation' in public
Solaxe Solaxowski The fuck has anything I said have to do with being pc, chains of subjugation is just embarrassing to say
cupandmouse It proves your not inept at the language. If you have something against or are embarrassed using complex language, then you're surrounded by fools.
The first track is so melancholy. It's like the music is crying. Absolutely gorgeous. My favourite Draenor zone,
+ParadigmZwei completely agree. Superb score.
That is so well put. I think this particular track is one of the most beautiful and memorable ones in the whole game!
It fits so well with the horrors the exiled arakkoan face.
When I came back to wow a month ago I raced to this zone, I love it too.
Amazing
Say what you want about Warlords, I'm actually warming up to it more as time passes after being away for a few months. But what I felt from the second I walked into Spires of Arak and saw the weapon firing from Skyreach and destroying one of the Veils below is that it was simply, the best zone in the game. It's dark, mysterious, weird, genuinely funny, and almost 75% focused on the mesmerizing story of the Arrakoa (the side venture to get your Salvage Yard sucks, but the Admiral Taylor Garrison foray is amazing as well). And the music (like every other track in the game) is simply spellbinding. Sure, it's a Dark Crystal knock-off, but it's a damn fine one.
+Jonathan Straka This is also my favorite zone in Draenor. As you said, it is both mysterious and funny and the landscape with forests is really beautiful.
+Jonathan Straka I agree; the spires firing on the Veil moment is crushing. The Stravinsky-esque music at 5:10! Such injustice. Oddly enough this is one of the few times in a game I've really sympathized with a whole race.
+Jonathan Straka I think anyone with the head screwed on would feel the same! I love the Dark Crystal and I love this zone. The music in the zone is the top of my list by a long way
Draenor was actually my favorite continent in the game. I've been playing since Sunwell, and of all continents, my soft spot is at Draenor.
4 years later, I still go back to this zone to take in the atmosphere, listen to the music and study the 3D models - trees mostly, I very much appreciate good tree design
Every time I hear this, I recall Reshad's voice saying "..but the Talon King came alone, and what ensued was not a war. It was a slaughter." I really, REALLY hope they add Terrok to Heroes of the Storm. Such a magical, legendary character that even after his story is told, is still steeped in mystery.
+R Mac Seáin That quest was like an old school epic poem , loved it
I loved this zone so much, the atmosphere and the music is just magical. Plus I loved how they delved deeper into the lore of the Arakkoa. Blizzard truly crafted a breathtaking immersive zone.
Sometimes i can't comprehend how the artists can sit there playing this music without losing it. It is so beautiful and touching.
Spires of Arak was by far my favorite zone in WoD and is peraphs my favorite in all WoW today. To see the Arakkoa in their highest moment, to see their fall, to see the cursed ones being chased down by the Adherents. It was a amazing zone and I learned to absolutely love the arakkoas because of it. It's the only WoD zone I really had the patience to do 100% in a whole bunch of toons.
+Sckhar Leviathan Agree with everything, Spires is by far my favorite and the Arrakoa storyline is just awesome.
This curse has not broken me yet.
What we are without the sky
0:45 oh jesus christ thats so epic ... chills evrywhere
12:05 ...that incorporation of the Arabian Dance from the Nutcracker just makes me MELT..
+Ryan James I knew I recognized more Stravinsky in this zone!
+Paul Baluk Tchaikovsky bro
Paul Baluk Stravinsky composed the Rite of Spring. Tchaikovsky composed the Nutcracker.
+Ryan James I thought I was the only one that noticed!
I stopped in my tracks when I first heard that oboe. "Wait... wait! No! YES!!"
When leveling I overlooked Spires of Arrak, then after hitting cap i went back to finish the story line. I am glad I went back, the most memorable moment was on a quest, I needed to recruit some of the outcast and as i was walking on a swamp, I saw something fall. Then i got close and saw that the Arrak were being dropped to the ground, and one screamed "MY BEAUTIFUL WINGS!". That moment... shit i was like damn....
very touching.
In that moment, I believe everyone can imagine what a fantasy bird-like people would feel and why it's unfair.
This curse hasn't broken me yet
the first song is a reminder that it has been 8 years since this expansion came out and you are still grinding the mount. Was that what you thought your life was going to be 8 years later?
The music is impeccably matched the exoedus of Arrakoa civilians.Got teary abit on my first step into the spire of arak
10:10 amazing piece of music. The slow ambient build-up and the deep, grinding sound combine in an indescribable way. I miss WoD and it's encaptivating soundtrack.
I absolutely love this music. The first time I heard it, it brought me to tears. So sad and hauntingly beautiful.
ohh man the atmosphere in this zone is so amazing damn..
Yeah, this is actually my favorite zone in Draenor.
***** I think this i even going to contest Grizzly for my favorite zone.
Alex Tygesen Naah, I wouldn't go that far =)
***** what is so amazing about grizzly hills? It is cool, but why do people give it so much acclaim?
Jason Hall Because that zone feels like a place that you could live in for real.
12:05 - that oboe melody is so much like the Arabian Dance from the Nutcracker.
Thank you! I knew I heard something familiar there.
Yes, I knew I'd heard something similar but I couldn't quite put my finger on it!
so doesn't only me when i heard the first time... i watch fantasy of disney so many time... shishishishi
when I first came here I have never thought that this zone had such beautiful music. melodic and mysterious at the same time. I love it
Just walking along trying to figure what the crazy gold beam in the sky is. Then someone says, "Its... alll gone....", "Come we should go."
The the music and realization hits you as you sit there in silence.
2:54 - 3:20 its so beautiful!. Spires Of Arak is my favorite zone by far. It reminds me alittle of The Barrens
I wish the Arakkoa will be playable one day.
I like that the soundtrack is different.
And to which faction would they go? Alliance or Horde? Or would they be neutral at the beginning like the pandaren?
Their esthetic would be very welcome in the Horde, to give some change, but lore-wise they chould be in the alliance since they had lot of squabbles with the Orcs and never really fought on their side if not with the alliance at the same time. But probably neutral ten, also what race would you give the horde if they went to the alliance? Ogres? It would be redundant, wouldn'it?
@@LeDingueDeJeuxVideos They had a lot of squabbles with the Iron Horde Orcs, not the HORDE Horde Orcs. I think it would be best if they were neutral, that way we get two neutral races.
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 No, they had squabbles before the Iron Horde was a thing, and in the first timeline too. I believe I was actually more thinking about Outland Arakkoas when I wrote my comment
4:15 When a bee enters your room
I like the fact that along with the great music, there are also beautiful screenshots showing that wowmusicable has an excellent sense of photography. Nice work.
0:00 to about 4:00is so freakin sad. You can really feel the sadness of the Outcasts.
Same, the sorrow and defeat they feel. I can almost see the facial expressions on the arakkoa traveling the road like refugees fleeing a wartorn city.
Get Aclue Spires of Arakk felt like its own game to me, I could play a single player based in that zone. I wish they'd expanded more however, a dungeon *alone* does not do justice.. Its so short and sweet, but MMO's are all about never-endings.
Sounds kind of familiar to me.
Anyone an idea how this particular track is called ?
Towards the end you have Nutcracker Arabian Dance, I'd imagine the beginning may be something people know as well.
Dont know if youre still interested but i wondered the same thing and found it, its called 'Traversing the Spires'
It's my favorite area, has a music and atmosphere that make me go all night just to watch and listen :)
6:18 I FOUND IT HAHA YES, THE BEST TRACK IN THE EXPANSION! While other songs in this zone are more generically epic (I've heard them in my garrison a few times, so I've lost appreciation for them) this track is the Arakkoa all the way. The instruments match the zone perfectly, exotic and dark, but also beautiful in a weird way, just like the Outcasts. The best part by far is 7:52 just, oh, I got shivers at that musical climax.
Also, what instrument is that at 7:52 in the background? A zurna? I can't seem to find it with my lame attempts at descriptive google searches.
I get chills EVERY TIME listening to this piece, as well. Always.
I suppose its pretty good, although it felt kinda like any other piece. But that's just my taste lol. I like MoP music a lot even though some people say it was annoying so, everyone has their own tastes.
It sounds like the way the Arakkoa walk! Lol
@@thebradzone3922 it sounds just like the instruments used in troll zone areas. Very jungle-y and Amazon-y sounding.
I simply wish i could pay the money per month for the music artists only and get every month new epic music. I swear its more than 50% of what the game is about i swear
Do I hear Nutcracker music? Toward the end? It's definitely the same melody at one point, just with different instruments. No wonder I loved it so much when I heard it.
The first track is probably my favorite piece of music this expansion
Looking at the screenshots made me realize I never actually saw Arak during the day, as I play only in the evening. Oops. And Arak is VERY dark at night, one of the darkest zones I think. I got so used to its shadowy atmosphere combined with its quiet, moody BGM at 0:00 that watching this video with all the daytime screenshots just feels so wrong. Well um... shadows gather and all that, I suppose.
One of the best zones in WoW history...
Some of the best music in all of WoW right here
when i went to spires and i saw the arrakoa being exiled with this music on the background it just gave me chills
i thought nothing could compare to Nagrand or Storm Peaks... but this zone's music made me feel the depth of the Arrakoa "experience," from the top of Skyreach to the low Veils.
I spent 30sec before I realized it wasn't a panning video
Agreed. Spires of Arak is definitely the "Nagrand" and "Stormpeaks" of WoD, which saying a lot since Nagrand is also in WoD, yet it just isn't the same as BC Nagrand....
I never really thought about the arrakoa until I heard this music. What it would be like, as a sentient species, to have flight, and then lose it.
This music makes me feel sad, but hopeful. ^^
"Shadows gather..."
Jackie Sarsfield ...when the Raven swallows the day.
+Bruno Pereira burning sky is extinguished ....
+jan steyaert (Vhoxz) as black wings fold gently about the Heavens.
+Bruno Pereira Rest, my children, rest.
Jackie Sarsfield As legion expansion ends.
Currently, my favorite part lies at 11:40.
9:55 perfect soundtrack for a shunned outcast stalking through Arak!
Absolutely love the Arakkoan. They draw so much from Native American and Middle Eastern cultures, yet at the same time they feel so alien and different, and the music is PHENOMENAL. Definitely my favorite region in all of WoD, if not all of WoW.
What do you reckon that instrument is at 1:55 I was thinking harp but I don't think it is....it kinda sounds like a sitar.
@@captaincrum1 It is a harp
"What would we be without the sky?"
I had a good time in this zone. It was a nice change of pace from Orcs.
At 2:56 from here it's like the soundtrack is grasping my soul and hugging it lol 😂 what a soundtrack
"Its just...gone..."
2.06 Best.... Oh I believe its not end, and in future we will know more about Arrakoa...
This was my favorite zone in wod
I feel like the composition team has taken a different route for these WoD tracks and I think that they all sound great!
The atmosphere in this zone is simply awesome...
We need more zones like this Blizzard :P
Beware the burning sky.
But what are we without the sky? m(-_-)m
Agent1W Even the sun must sleep
;_;
Shadows gather.
cupandmouse To sleep, or to be swallowed by the Raven?
Destroy their false sun that we may meet again in shade.
I am sitting at a lake waterfront and i can listen to the beginning of 11:45 forever..
This is so sad, but awesome! Atmosphere in this zone is something phenomenal.
We're already in legion. But I can't forget draenor.
I demand a 10hours version of the music from 11:40 to 13:55.
2:06 so awesome. Close ur eyes and see the magic. Love it.
The story of the outcasts make your eyes wet .....so does the music in this zone :(
Easily my favorite zone in wod
The only explanation for the quality of WoD is that all the new team members they hired were solely for the music department.
your profile picture is awesome. XD
I'm going to miss this expac I'm sure :)
+VisualEntertainmentz Even with all its faults, I'm going to miss it too.
@@VV-nz4dv You gotta admit that Spires was amazing, and that WoD had some fucking phenomenal dungeons and raids.
My heart, the first part, can't, stop, the feels.
Brings me to tears, man. Especially when it plays as you go through the war ravaged areas of the Spires. Seeing those devistated veils... the homes lost... the lives lost, and it's all because of a religious conflict between the Arakkoan.
I can't figure out what instrument that is at 1:55 :S
@@captaincrum1 The harp? Or the strings (violins, viola, cello and double bass)?
Track who bring feeling of melancholy and loneliness...
Like it. And the whispering chants around 6.30 clearly confirm that an old gold is around, which was suspected since BC. Good job as always!
A dark wind is blowing!
I got Talonpriest Ishaal as my bodyguard.
Anyone else find the Fifty Shades Of Grey parody highly amusing?
warhammernerd52 Yeah, So obvious and so fun =D
warhammernerd52 Awk! Nasty bird...
Hey where is that in this video show me.
In a Spires of Arak quest where you have to help Reshad recover something, his bird Percy picks up a book. When Reshad asks to see the book, he reads "Fifty Shades of Shadow" on the cover and scolds Percy for bringing him such a...foolish book in this urgent moment.
In german it was turned into a parody of the german series: "School girls report" ("School chicks report?" Percival, put it back immediately! Naughty bird.")
This music gives me shivers every time. At times it reminds me of some of the best Studio Ghibli soundtracks
I now miss wod man. Very touching music actually. But moreover, I can't play wow anymore cuz it gotten much expensive now. Can't afford that.
Amazing music. And then you remember that the entre zone was destroyed in Outlands
My fave zone in all of WoD
When the raven swallows the day.
If they can find this quality of composers and musicians, why is it so fucking hard to get someone to write a story-line that isn't laughable (or voice actors that don't make you hope the characters die so you don't have to listen to them anymore?)
WHAT ARE WE WITHOUT THE SKY!?
I feel so bad for killing arakkoa back in outland after learning their history
The part at 5:10 imagen the stone at the top of the Spire starts to glow very brightly and then followed by a Super beam that Melts the very ground it touches and sets everything else close by on Fire and turns all in it's way to ash and you are seeing it all happen before your eyes. And then as soon it began it's over. i'm telling you,a very short yet Very intense Part right there.
"Nasty bird."
"What are we, without the sky?"
what are we without the sky? Scalies ofc man o man I sure do love dracthyr.
shadows gather
...when the raven swallows the day. Who sent you?
Listen from 6:18 onwards.
Shadows Gather...
i can't wait to see the new arak models :)
11:40 is so moving.
i need first 4 minutes on my comp RIGHT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
будто в консерватории побывал. очень красиво. вов лучшая игра!!
favorite zone
This zone is like one giant Jim Henson movie.
4:15
A dark wind is blowing
4:14
So beautiful great work blizz! Btw if u guys wanna hear an really good soundtrack much like this one search for " Pans Labyrint" its almost in a wierd way the same or maybe its just me who is tone deaf as usual xD
12:09 onward is what i came for ^^ ty
Outland should be a fantasy Omen and a warning for Humanity. How such beautiful place like Draenor can change into ash, dust, shadow and death.
People are like Burning Legion, we are destroying our Draenor which is slowly turning into Outland. Soon our land will be a barren steel frame, without primal beauty which earth gave us. Sad but true.
I take a lot of screenshots of WoW as well. I like your photography skills. I made 3 parts of beautiful WoW landscapes. :) I used some good music too, from other games and some classical. :)
Did anyone else hear the similarity to the Arabian Dance from the Nutcracker starting at 12:06?
raaaaaakkkkk trinketssssss yesssssss.....aaaaahhhhkkkk shineeyyyyy trinketssssssss
Nobody says that
9:56
4:15 FF7
Im crying....this reminds me of my ex bf...we used to raid and dream....now it's over, a past ...and i'm buried with hhim
Stahp. ;-;
OMG, this Part is so fuckn........ wow...... . 4:15 - 6:16
