  • I was watching another channel and she started reviewing these bikes (and trikes) she spoke highly of them so I had to see for myself. Wow. It's like a moped minus all the noise and smoke. Really a cool experience and one that I can't wait to try out at the various national parks we visit.

Very cool video. Your channel is starting to remind me of horsepower TV on Saturday mornings and I am here for it!!!

It looks cool. I live in an area with loads of long winding hills. My neighbors have a few ebikes and the first couple did great in town where it is mostly flat but the big long hills killed the battery's. They changed things around with the gearing and it helped but not enough. They finally purchased one that had front and rear suspension, hydraulic disk breaks, and the heavy duty battery pack. I think it had 7 speeds. It was much better and you could unlock it and it would go much faster than the legal limits in most areas. But it still struggled on the big long uphill grades. So they purchased a gas powered motor that was a universal mount probably for a bicycle and not an ebike. That combination allows them to ride it into town and all around where they need to go and then when they get to the bottom of the long steep hill they fire up the gas engine and between the gas, electric and manual power it can climb up the hills at a decent speed and make it back home again. I don't know how much in total they have invested in it, but I am starting to see more like theirs in the area. So it must be a decent setup. I think the tank holds a little less than a half gallon and they top it off once a week. Not to bad. I have a regular bicycle with a 7 speed rear and front suspension. It is a nice bike and it's comfortable for me to ride it. I thought about adding a gas powered engine to it to help keep it at a higher speed overall, and of course help pull the big hills. I really wish I could try one, before buying one and possibly scratching up my bike and then finding out that it doesn't have enough power to pull the hills with me on it. I was going to look for a gas kit that hooks to the chain so the power from the gas engine goes through the 7 speeds to give it the best chance of pulling the hills. Then at a later time I can add a electric kit with a front hub motor that could be used alone in town or saved increserve to pull the hills with a higher speed. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to really play around with this stuff like I would like to.

I think if I were to do more riding in the mountains, a hybrid might be the way to go. This one is great on flat areas, but hills it is not a fan of( or it could be I weigh too much)

I look for VW to bring back the beetle but all electric, I think it would sell well. Nice bike , older people would like that in a 3 wheel version maybe with a basket on the back for quick trips to the local grocery .

I kinda wish this was 3 wheel for better stability. I have not ridden a bike in a long time so it took me a while to re learn

I was watching recently a vid from a guy who just bought a $6000 E-bike. On his first run about 2.5 miles out it started smoking and burst into flames. Umm not for me.

Ha! Holy cow! Well, thankfully this one didn't quite perform like that one did.
So far, I like it. We are looking to get a second one for when we go camping and for trips like to Gettysburg pa. This would be perfect for touring the park.

How far does a bike travel on a single charge?

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  День тому

It can vary depending on the terrain, how much the rider weighs, etc...

I can see that, but depending on where you live, this could replace a car or uber rides

A decent bike costs at least $800.

Don't encourage kids to be any lazier!! Ha ha. Get them a bike that you have to pedal.
Have them mow the yard and enjoy the satisfaction and accomplishment from working hard!!
Nice bike though for someone who wants to take a tiny break from good ole fashion pedalng.😀

I would say that this is a great option for people like me with RA in the knees. It makes it easier to ride

@@FarpointFarms oh indeed a good option to take a break from pedaling. But the physical therapists at the center where the knee replacement doctor works will have you pedal at great resistances and for about 15 minutes or so before you do the other exercises to strengthen the muscles surrounding the worn out knee joint as well as the hips. First hand knowledge. And the bone to bone joints are thankful as well as relieved from these exercises.
But I do like the idea of a "break" from some pedaling. Like your channel. Gonna subscribe!!
