This trick still requires a lot of strength. It looks easily because he has a little help, but you try to stand in mid air being supported (even if partially assisted) only on side, in the sun and painted silver. Kudos to this gentleman
@Agian Andagian when he does the free fall trick that requires him to flex his arm pretty hard thats why he only does that for a couple seconds then goes back to being straight. You can also see his upper body shake due to the amount of force and flexing of his arm
I was wondering about that. I understand the concept of a bracket going up his sleeve and down his pants leg. I imagine that this still takes a lot of strength.
must likely he is wearing a full torso corset that attaches to the metal arm that grabs the shovel handle.... and His left arm is free under the silver jacket??? If so, there is no real strength need it, so he can be there for hours.

My theory is that he wears a climber's harness through his crotch, so he is essentially sitting all the time. He has a steel tube inside his left coat sleeve that attaches to the stub that's welded to the shovel handle, shown at 3:28. The top of the tube in his sleeve gets hooked to hinge attached to a steel frame that encircles his torso below his armpits. The hinge is probably just a round steel stub that gets slipped into a round socket. The climber's harness is hung from that encircling frame. I believe that he connected the tube in his sleeve to the frame around his chest at 3:58 in the video. Before that, he was moving his arm freely out to the side. After that, his arm only rotates forward and back. His center of gravity is below the pivot line, which is just below his arm pits. That means he has to muscle himself into the prone position, which must take some real strength. Knowing how it's done adds to the respect for the engineering involved. And it does not remove respect for how much strength it takes, or how uncomfortable it must be to hang there in that hot clothing.

I was mesmerised by his performance a few years ago, and I couldn’t work out how the illusion was done let alone how he could just keep going for hours. Performers like him really add character to Covent Garden or any other location.
Even if he's got a support on that arm up to his underarm it's still amazing that he can do that continuously and lay himself out etc on one arm that takes some serious strength 👍👍👍

Ilya Kuryakin So he doesn't have superpowers, but he pretends that he is pretending that he doesnt NOT ha... ya know what? ok :) What's for supper.... :)
I suppose so... But its clear he is doing that as an distraction tactic while he actually adjusts to whatever stabilty mechanism he got in the other side
@@NoLefTurnUnStoned. There is a rod connected by a hinge to the shovel handle. It runs up the inside of his sleeve to a harness he's wearing under his jacket. The hing allows him to lean forward in a bow when people donate money. He's basically hanging from his armpits and doing a short plank when someone drops a coin.
Regardless, you've got to be strong to do this! You can see him shaking from the strain when he spins down. I would have designed it so the bar goes up to the armpit support but continues across the back (hidden under the coat) and has another armpit support on the other side! Would be a lot more comfortable and a lot less strenuous!
gremmiehodad I don’t think you can invent something and expect it to be functional, how are you supposed to hide the bar behind the jacket then? You would have to stand and let the girl dress you and when people see that its a scam it loses interest.
Vuk Pantovic There's actually people using that method, instead of just being attached in their arms, it's also attached in the back and sometimes they have it where it's like a chair and it looks like the person is meditating in mid air. Use your imagination.
Spoiler alert !!!!!!! Lol . Now I no how they do it thought it had something to do with a bar up sleeve but that will take some doing and strength like some have said
@@MrDextrator Well it's not a scam either way. If he were trying to hide anything he woudlnt have set it up in plain view. Just a man having some fun and entertaining others.

@@PANCHOSWAY The left arm is not actually in the sleeve holding the spade. My guess is that what's actually up the left sleeve is a very strong support for a harness he connects to allowing him to float and move. I could be wrong
@@Drummer1000George when he first hooks in he moves his fingers on the shovel. She that's his actual arm. But he is hooking into some sort of body harness. Regardless of the harness, still probably takes an impressive amount of upper body strength.
The title says trick revealed. I see nothing revealed. It is obviously a mechanism hidden under clothes, but since it said revealed, I expected to see it, not to imagine it. So, thumb down for clickbait. Still the two links goes to videos that reveals the obvious.
@@ravenbonanza1522 that is part of the support, not the entire support. Under the clothes is more harness and support. If would have been pure strength and stamina he would have jumped into position tot climbed the stairs. This is the actual illusion, that he uses strength, when actually he is just hanging. For sure there is need for training, even for sitting on a chair you need training. I decided ten years ago to avoid chairs. All I do I do fully vertically or horizontally. Sure, in some circumstances I sit. I cannot argue with the doctor for example that I want to stand. But if I sit for more then few minutes my butt hurts, as when first riding a bike, if you remember. If people are impressed by somebody hanging on a harness why the support is hidden? just put the harness over the clothes.
Perhaps the support we see on top of the shovel somehow connects to a very sturdy harness around his midsection that helps him pivot? I dunno, but the tremendous strength and grace on display is jaw dropping. Would get a big tip from me!
This is very artistic, would be nice to appreciate in person. And, that can't be comfortable basically he is basically on a small bar beneath his armpit.
I hope your aware that the "magic" exists in the act. It also exists in the hearts and minds of little children that walk by. It exists for the person that is lonely and just wants to be noticed or notice something. The magic is also in the adults as they argue politely with the stranger next them about how is he doing that. And finally the magic is in the heart of the performer. He carries it with him anywhere he goes. (the magic) He keeps it alive in his act. If you still do not believe in his magic powers then answer one simple question. How many people and strangers did you make smile today? Because he does it every day for hundreds if not thousands of passers by. Thank you good sir.
I can explain it better I think, here how it goes: For him to perform the trick he does is to first learn how to fly, once he master's that, he then needs that stick to somewhat make things believable and to make sense of things. So yeah that's all there is to it
@@angies5082 He's wearing some kind of attachment under his jacket that connects to the supporting bar, that's why the jacket is puffy so you can't see it. But you can see him connecting to it when he reaches into his jacket with his right hand @3:57. The join is cylindrical so it's free to swivel forward and back. It would be sized and balanced specifically for him so that he can swing back and forth effortlessly. Also, notice that the shovel is mounted on the extreme left side of the base, otherwise his weight would cause him and the whole base to topple over.
Thank you for thinking about us, Unfortunately not many took the effort to come back after Covid-19, We even lost a beloved magician 🙏. I am only doing it sometimes as a hobby as I am really pleased to hear that people are enjoying my performance.
3:15 shows the rig, where the shovel handle is welded to a frame piece that supports his arm, then at 3:55 he reaches into his jacket and attaches that upper support to whatever rig he's wearing under his clothes that supports the rest of him.
I see. And you don’t watch any footage of him putting that rig into that jacket and what it is attached to. Nonetheless, he has amazing endurance and strength to make this performance happen.

I was mesmerised by his performance a few years ago, and I couldn’t work out how the illusion was done let alone how he could just keep going for hours. Performers like him really add character to Covent Garden or any other location.
He actually moves a lot faster than most Roadworkers.

Usually there are at least 3 or 4 road workers each with a shovel to hold them up.
Yep when are they gonna invent the shovel that stands up by itself lol 😂
Even if he's got a support on that arm up to his underarm it's still amazing that he can do that continuously and lay himself out etc on one arm that takes some serious strength 👍👍👍
That’s what he wants you to think.

@Jac D well I need to grow up too cos I can’t work out how he did it.

@Jac D
Take your blood pressure meds and chill out. Acting the hard man in youtube comments. Hero.

So how tf is he doing it I’m still confised
@@PANCHOSWAY The left arm is not actually in the sleeve holding the spade. My guess is that what's actually up the left sleeve is a very strong support for a harness he connects to allowing him to float and move. I could be wrong

@@Drummer1000George when he first hooks in he moves his fingers on the shovel. She that's his actual arm. But he is hooking into some sort of body harness. Regardless of the harness, still probably takes an impressive amount of upper body strength.
For those of you who don't get it, he's wearing a harness the upper shovel is a frame that holds his harness.
@Sir Eebral the harness is preventing him from going down but he still has mobility with the harness
i think the platform is on a pivot that turns when you put weight on it
The title says trick revealed. I see nothing revealed.
It is obviously a mechanism hidden under clothes,
but since it said revealed, I expected to see it, not to imagine it.
So, thumb down for clickbait.
Still the two links goes to videos that reveals the obvious.
3:23 this his support for the lift, but still with one arm holding the entire body requires a lot of practice & stamina

No strength involved otherwise he wouldn't be there hours would he?

Making people smile is of great value, but it isn't magic, as the term in commonly understood.
I remember being a kid in Cancun and being so fascinated with these kind of street performances
I can explain it better I think, here how it goes:
For him to perform the trick he does is to first learn how to fly, once he master's that, he then needs that stick to somewhat make things believable and to make sense of things. So yeah that's all there is to it
Forget the silver man trick... I was in awe of the way he put that glove on one handed! 😲
