My friend died two nights ago, we used to listen to this at night by the Columbia river in oregon. I searched this song and this came up. Thank you. I sit and listen in aw at the ebbs and flows of changing tides of our existence. Who will be next to depart for the unknown
I am so sorry! This song for me reminds me of someone in my life who passed as well.. It was one of his favorites too. I wanted to make my own lyric video for it 💕 Very underrated song.
I was in Oregon and found something spiritual happened to me, I returned to Nevada only to then hear my father had passed in Mexico. I am happy you found this song, it's 2am here in PST and here I am listening to it. Rest be your friend. oh my son's name is also Pablo. A toast to your departed.
Oh, soul twin, I wish you peace. This entire album is my black heart in sound & I rarely listen..it's been 20yrs & here I am in Portland at dawn listening to this...I send sweet life's breath to you🖤
...one of THE best songs of all time! Everything about it is perfect. That is one fact that will never change, imho... It's always been there whenever I needed it, too! 🥰 ...in fact the whole disintegration album is an absolute masterpiece!
I totally concur... quick question do you know what album "Underneath the Stars is on This and Disintegration are prob my top favs followed up closely by A letter to Elise /Charlotte Sometimes/Pictures of you...
my first love...i will never forget our time together, listening to this album every day, two teenagers in love for the first time. We danced our First and Last dance that year...
this album was released the year i was born. my mother listened to it constantly. she said i calmed down to it which must be true since it is one of my top 5 all time favorite albums to this day at 35. perfection from beginning to end.
"The shallow drownd lose less then we" you breathe... ...But I don't see, and I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes your smile... So deep
The Cure and Smashing Pumpkins are my top two. This song is on my life playlist. I never get tired of listening to it. Such great memories with this song. Thanks for making the video Miranda.
The Cure and Depeche Mode for me. I liked siamese dream a bit when it first came out in my early 20s but that year I don't remember it being THE album. Whatever they did after that just sounded like some overly long concept album, with Corgan's head way too far up his own arse. But each to their own. They made a 'few' decent songs, but nothing like as good as, or as innovative as, or as prolific as Depeche Mode were. The 80s was The Cure and DM, at least on this side of the pond where KISS, ZZ Top, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston weren't quite so big (still painfully big enough though) and the 80s was a lot better for music than the 90s. I lived through the 70s, 80s and 90s and the 80s have it by a mile. So, the best two bands would have to be the best two bands of the 80s. Who were The Cure and Depeche Mode. 'Imo'
For my cousin Ana Banana reminds me of her UC Berkley days and the Cure being played in her 1988 Nissan sentra lol she , just adored the Cure and taught me to love music at a young age as well I would get so lost in her albums for hours ,, I see u in my dreams,, rest sweet cousin you are never forgotten 😢☮ ❤ .......2017
It's a shame on my part. I never really liked the cure when they were popular. It wasn't till bout 2 years ago, I was listening to inxs radio on pandora and pictures of you came on. First time I ever heard it. So, I made a cure station and this was the first song they played. Hooked since. An amazing song!!!!🤘
Disintegration is the best album ever bought! I've got faith Lp, Pornography CD, staring at the sea, and their greatest hits, Would love to take my dad to see them live next year.
Disintegration and Music for the Masses (not Violator, yes released in 90 but recorded in, and some singles off it were released in 89) are the two best 80s albums imo. And if they're the best 80s albums they must be THE best albums as there wasn't a better decade for music or to grow up before or since
This has been my favorite song for over 30 years. To me, this song is a familiar place of comfort. It's like a warm comfortable sanctuary. When I get overwhelmed and I need some alone time and my anxiety is kicking in and I need a reset, this song in a dark room through headphones with a cup of coffee does the trick. I've been known at times to break down in a good cathartic cry. I'm manly as fuck, but I'm not ashamed to admit it. Sometimes we all just need a good cry. Anyone agree?.
Robert SMITH's voice has always been so gorgeous 😲😞😢😭😉🤗😍👍🏼👌🏼🤘🏼❤️❤️❤️... !!! Even my ex girlfriend used to listen to my Dear The CURE 😏😉😍... Thank you Miranda 🤗😍😘👐🏼❤️❤️❤️
Hi Miranda :) thanks for deciphering the song 4 Me!!! Together forever Eternity. Love Infinity 🕯️. I Love u ❤️ 🙋🏼♀️ God 💋. PS/c u in Heaven if I Make the cut!!! PSS/'im in good with Sosa'so u will soon live in Glory 🕊️
For me, I find a few of their best songs, especially this one, are on par with my favorite songs in the world. Then there's the songs I find enjoyable, especially the rest of Disintigration & some random songs from other Cure albums. I am not at all a fan of some of their more pop-ish songs (boys dont cry comes to mind). Due to this I don't know what genre I would classify The Cure as a band. Not sure they can fully fit into one genre 🤔
Only someone of the younger generations (yeah it's a guess) would even care about 'genre'. It didn't even cross our minds in the 80s to define what 'genre' something was, not mine anyway. Academia and the trend of labelling everything, 'identifying' it, boxing it off, is a very unhealthy way to think, and yet an entire generation thinks exactly like that 'cause I watched it happen to my own kids as they grew up in this modern world. 'Genre' is how they want you to think. Package it, label it, stack in the right 'section' at the record store etc. Any band that fits neatly into any one genre is obviously very one dimensional, and not one that would keep me interested for long. In the 70s and 80s ppl would debate, pointlessly over whether something was rock n roll, or just rock. It's pretty dumb in all honesty. I wouldn't try to find a genre to put them in, instead I'd find a place to dump 'genre'.
Don't even have 24hours left an total exposure coming I'm barely touching the surface today. No body wants to talk about what a grown ass man air sign. Found. Not my kids. Either

I'm so very sorry for your loss. :-(

I was listening in '89, and still listen today. Didn't think we'd still be around, but here we are. Disintegration, what a classic!
This song is marvelous, amazing, awesome.its perfect for any film.A very masterpiece
I fell in love to this album. It made it a hard listen for a long time. This is probably the moodiest song on the album. A masterpiece.
His voice is, like always, completely out of this world...
...one of THE best songs of all time! Everything about it is perfect. That is one fact that will never change, imho...
It's always been there whenever I needed it, too! 🥰
...in fact the whole disintegration album is an absolute masterpiece!
You said everything my friend
I totally concur... quick question do you know what album "Underneath the Stars is on
This and Disintegration are prob my top favs followed up closely by A letter to Elise /Charlotte Sometimes/Pictures of you...
This song is perfection. You can hear Robert Smith's voice breaking towards the end.
my first love...i will never forget our time together, listening to this album every day, two teenagers in love for the first time. We danced our First and Last dance that year...
I 💘 this dreamy song forever! 1989 was a very good year...
Very deep
This will always be a favorite of mine 🥰 My love was born in 1989.
Oh, to look back. I turned 18 in 1989 and this is probably my second fav Cure song. One can just lose themselves completely....
And!
1990 Depeche Mode :
enjoy the silence 🥀
So much beauty in so much sadness. Bravo
this album was released the year i was born. my mother listened to it constantly. she said i calmed down to it which must be true since it is one of my top 5 all time favorite albums to this day at 35. perfection from beginning to end.
JUST A. MASTERPIECE ❤
Such deep emotional song.. Cure always deliver!
BEST. ALBUM. EVER. Love this song..
"The shallow drownd lose less then we" you breathe...
...But I don't see, and I don't feel
But tightly hold up silently
My hands before my fading eyes
And in my eyes your smile...
So deep
Lovely picture. It fits the mood of the song so well (not just because it's a picture of, you know, water).
My favourite song too. I dont't get tired of listening to it.
I never do either ❤
I don’t get tired of listening to it but it makes me sleepy at night
Same I can listen on loop all day
My favourite song, too.
I've been listening to it on repeat for like
.....three days lol. Every now and then I just get stuck on it
The Cure and Smashing Pumpkins are my top two. This song is on my life playlist. I never get tired of listening to it. Such great memories with this song. Thanks for making the video Miranda.
