Hi! I have been thinking about purchasing the mic 2 for my pocket 3. Your video has been of great help with my decision-making process, thank you! By any chance, do you know if there has been an update with the pocket 3 software to accommodate two mics via bluetooth? I've been thinking of buying the pearl white version now, then buy another one in the future. I would prefer to use mics via bluetooth than have a receiver plugged in. TIA.
Ughhh. I don't want to upgrade yet but that is so nice that the mic 2 will bluetooth directly to the pocket camera without the need for the transmitter. Always awkward walking around with the transmitter dangling off the pocket 2.
I have the Rode 2 Go system and I am happy with it on my Lumix S5-2 but on My action 4 I have to mount the receiver on the Camera and we handle the camera on shoots and it is awkward so I just got the white transmitter for the Action 4 and keeping the Rode kit for my Lumix. PS: If you do not need noise cancelation keep it off as it is very aggressive and sucks the life out of the dialogue.
I agree 100%. That intelligent noise canceling just sounds unnatural. I tried it the other day in a park and it removed all of the birds chirping and all ambient sounds. Definitely not something I would use. Thanks so much for your comment!
I had it on for the first time and thnought I was going to have to return it but once I turned that off the mic proved it is better then my Rode Go 2 and the bluetooth connection tot he action 4 is solid.
great minds must think alike... I made the same purchase. Enjoyed your video! Mic 1 with receiver seems more full or rich sounding. For a professional shoot, I'd stick to that . HOWEVER, Mic 2 did a good job but its a close second based on this test. To me, it's a major convenience to go without the receiver. Having said all this, I am not taking into consideration the 32 bit float. Its nice to have it so you don't have to worry about settings/gain or blowing peaks or too low sounding therefore its consistently good. Thus, the Mic 2 - it's good enough. Since this was an indoor test, the big benefit is noise cancellation, but save that for an outdoor ambient video. Peace brother!
Thanks Alex. I agree with you about the Mic 1 sounding more full. That Intelligent noise canceling is no joke. I used it outside yesterday and it almost works too well. I'm going to get some more testing in outdoors hopefully this week. Cheers, my friend!

I will check for you. I know either the pocket 3 or the Osmo Action 4 can use two, but I can't remember which one. I will check and let you know.

Yes, it is finally so nice to not have to worry about a coldshoe or something falling off your camera.
