Going well so far 👍🏻. I’ve had that same bike dryer for the last few years, and apart from having to glue the lead connection into the body of the blower, it’s been perfect.
Hi Pete, that is so funny. I had the engine bars in the boot while driving down to Ross the bike seat expert in Hinckley. I thought I should have these bars gloss black powder coated 🥳. So went straight to the best ‘Two Brothers’ in Sheffield who did all my cafe racer. They said they will be ready Friday🤗🤩
You might have considered using a hair dryer or similar to apply some even heat to restore the colour of the black side panel to see if that works, for example on the nose cone at the front before you respray it. I have not tried it myself but heard it being recommended. I watch with interest having owned an R1150GS twin spark, having lost it after a hit and run driver drove over me. My next project is to do exactly what your doing, buy another R1150GS and revive it, I love learning.
Hi Neil, thank you so much for your comment. I never thought of heating the part but someone also mention that. I knew that new MAPP torch would come in handy 🤣🤣🤣. Sorry to hear you got hit in your 1150GS. Strange that I get more enjoyment out of an 18 year old bike, and riding it, than a new one🤷🏼♂️

@@JM-rw9je thank you so much…really appreciated 🤗
Your workmanship is second to none Norman! I can’t wait to see how it turns out! It couldn’t have found a better home.
Thank you Israel, keep watching. I collect the engine bars today, sandblasted and powder coated in gloss black🥳
Black is a good plan for the crash bars and the vht product looks great 👍🏻
Thanks Bjorn…hope to get them sandblasted as they are in a worse state than I thought😱

Hi Rumien, yes it is more powerful than the dryers that are branded as ‘bike dryers’ at double the price🤷🏼♂️. Works brilliantly doesn’t it 🤗
@@normski3091 mine was advertised as a bike dryer, even though it says pet dryer on the unit, but it does a great job.
A fine project indeed!
For my pennies worth, perhaps consider black powder coat for the engine bars.
Good luck! 👌🏻
