- Asian-American jazz band, Hiroshima, won a Soul Train award for Best Jazz Album @ 2nd Annual Soul Train Music Awards March 30, 1988. They performed their song "Go" from the album. George Duke was included in the performance.
I love this band! "Go" is one of their best albums. They're still at it after 40 years. Their new album in 2022 is another classic!
My favorite Jazz band of all time! I loved the way they fuzed Japanese instruments with neo jazz sound. It was, and still is amazing, even today!
What a callback from my childhood! I liked this band
“Go” was the jam! Listen to that bass, sax 🎷 by Dan and those sensual vocals
Those sensual vocals were from Barbara Long.
I love this group!
This may be Hiroshima's best band lineup, featuring Barbara Long on vocals to complement June on koto and Dan on sax/flute. The guitarist adds some harder edged sounds to some of their songs on the album "Go", such as on "No. 9" and "311".
No way. Dane Matsumoto was WAY funkier. The first 2 albums were the best by a mile.
Barbara was good, but Teri Kusamoto was their best vocalist ever!!👌🏾
Best asian jazz band that's ever LIVED. Still playing and making music too! If you want some oriental steven seagal action movie beats these guys bring the beats and melodies! :D
a tip: you can watch series on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Forest Ismael yup, have been watching on flixzone} for since december myself :D
@Forest Ismael yea, I have been watching on flixzone} for months myself :D
I love this song and "Heavenly Angel" and the nominees were the same group of people that you would listen to on the '80s Weather Channel.
I'm not really a jazz fan but I do like Hiroshima.
It was a great time for me
I remembered this performance and had to search 32 years later

See this song and how happy everyone is? NO it's not because everyone was on COCAINE lol It's because we were AMERICA. Observe the difference between CONSERVATIVE RULE versus RADICAL CANCEL CULTURE....
