Wow. I'm speechless, really. This video is gorgeous, but more importantly, your editing and incredible sound track made me feel like I was walking right next to you. That doesn't just happen.Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!! Oh my goodness, those churches...
Dear Jodee, your comment brings tears to my eyes. I tried so hard to create a video that was really unique and different than anything I’ve done in the past. And your comment is exactly what I was striving for. What a gift this messages to me! All of this is self-taught and learning through experience, and while I’m certainly not a professional, my love and passion for this country creates an overwhelming desire to be vulnerable. And draws out my creativity. You are right in saying that this doesn’t just happen. This took so many hours and days of work and planning. But this comment you shared with me is worth it alone. Thank you.
Thank you for this wonderful video of Troyes. I'd never heard about it or seen videos of it before today. I've subscribed to you channel and look forward to viewing other videos.
Quel beau reportage !
Hi - I watched this video because my wife spoke highly of it. At length. We can frankly say that she was going on and on. 😉 And now I see why. This is an incredibly lovely and enjoyable video! Thank you for sharing it and thank you for the obvious hours invested in its production. We'll absolutely be visiting Troye this fall, and it is absolutely going to be because of this video. Merci bien!
Carl! What can I say? This made my stomach flip, like a roller coaster, so full of butterflies and happiness. Your honest review, kindness, support, and encouragement, along with some of the other comments I received today, is beyond anything I could have dreamed of. It encourages and motivates me. And fills me with so much joy. Thank you for taking the time to watch. And THEN to post this? What a gift 💝. Merci.
I was born here 38 years ago. All my family is from this wonderful place. I still live here and I won't leave for the world. Thank you for making my hometown known beyond the borders. The first medieval city of France.
Awwww thank you SO much Pilar. I worked extra hard on that video. And I’m thrilled it resonated with you. Thank you for taking the time to message me. It means a lot!
Just stunning. Your best video to date. I am adding Troyes on my must visit list when I come to France. So happy you have reached over 1k subscribers! And many more to come I am certain.
And this is the capitale of Champagne wine and near Chablis Good and cheap restaurants. 1 gothic cathédral and another church as manificent. One of the richest city during middle age and renaissance period. A crossing market between venitian goods and spices from east and furs and iron steels from north etc. Really nice place to be.
I agree! I think the ideal itineraries would be one day to visit the churches, one day, to visit the museums, and one day to try some of the champagne from that immediate area. There’s so much to do!
Our second video with coffee this morning. It was like opening a present, beautifully put together and once again a delightful soundtrack. Something we notice in many of the churches is the chairs instead of pews, not all the churches but it does stand out to us. Were there pews at one time Shannon? We do realize how old these beautiful churches are and perhaps the pews simply aged out. Merci once again for a fabulous tour. 🥰
It’s a great question but I don’t have an answer for you. I will say that I can’t think of any church that I’ve been in here that had pews. So perhaps it’s the opposite and it’s a newer seating style that was never adopted here?
Quelle beauté! L'année prochaine je vais faire un échange avec l'UTT mais j'ignorais totallement quel endroit merveilleux que c'est! Vaut peut-être le coup de saisir une place dans le centre....
Well done, Shannon! Took me a while to be able to watch your video, but so glad I did. I'll be adding this to my itinerary while in France this year. So appreciate you taking your time to find & share with us, the special places you find in France. When visiting, I'll likely stay more than a day and wondering if you can suggest budget minded lodging that would be walkable to & from, but not necessarily in the central tourist area? Also, the idea of doing the bike route sounds amazing to me. 🚲
Hi DiAnn! Thank you so much for watching. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed this video. 🥳🥰🥰 So, I generally do not offer lodging recommendations unless I have (preferably) stayed in the property myself or, at the very least, toured it. That being said, I do recommend Booking.com. In France, it has a wide variety of professional and private listings, in all property types and a TON of filters to choose from so you can get exactly what you need. Additionally, their cancellation policies are superb.
Great video! I’m going to be in Paris in late April and was thinking of a day trip and decided that this is it. I was not familiar with Troyes before your video. How far in advance did you buy your train ticket?
I’m thrilled that this video helped you with your travel decisions! And I hope you’ll enjoy this trip, Barbara. I can’t imagine how even more magical it will be with the gardens in bloom. I purchased my train tickets only just a couple days in advance. It’s a commuter train. But best prices will be 2-3 months out.
Great video but there are many informations concerning the rival city of Reims located in the north of the region... The Fêtes Johanniques, the Coronation of the kings of France, the Michelin restaurants. That's all in Reims!
Thanks but I beg to differ! The fete was originally held in Troyes and I’ve seen posts about it’s return. And yes, there are a LOT of restaurants, including Michelin, to choose from in Troyes. Thanks for watching!
Troyes was the home of Rabbi Shlomo Ben Yitzachi, better known as Rashi, one of the most famous and influential Biblical and Talmudic interpreter in Jewish history.
The music you picked to accompany your beautiful shots are just chef's kiss!
Oh thank you! I worked hard on that particular edit! 😊😊 this means a lot that you recognized the effort. Merci! ☺️
Very nice video
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is such a lovely city! The church architecture and artwork are wonderful. So much to take in and enjoy. Merci, Shannon!

Enjoyed the music choices & use of subtitles!
Thank you so much, Carol!

I share the same thought. Thank you for your video.
Beautiful tour! Thank you for sharing. I did watch this before when you first posted it! Love these half timber buildings. Absolutely lovely!♥️🩷♥️
Thank you very much!
Ma ville ma fierté et une des villes les plus importantes de France dans le moyen âge !!

Gorgeous video! Loved the music & soundtrack to accompany the image, plus informative!
Thanks so much, Summer! 😊😊

Merci Béa. l'office de tourisme dispose également de superbes cartes et ressources. J'aime Troyes.
Pareil, j'habite pas loin. Excellente vidéo. ^^

@@ThisFrenchLife Thank you!
You should come back in April: I've just spent 3 days there and it's even more stunning with trees in blossom and flowers everywhere!
Thank you! That’s a great idea!
Thank you !!!!
You're welcome!
Merci Shannon! Troyes looks fascinating - do you know when the Joan of Arc festival is held?
Usually it’s held in June or July, and sometimes its hosted in Reims too.
Great video but there are many informations concerning the rival city of Reims located in the north of the region...

Beautiful town but dangerous at night 😏
Thank you for sharing.
I'm from Troyes and the city is eclatax, nothing to do.
I found it very charming and interesting to visit! I hope others do too.
@@ThisFrenchLife Yeah maybe for visiting 1 day. But as inhabitant it's very boring, there is the cinema, outlet stores and that's basically all.
Troyes n'est pas un village
Merci
