It's such a clever strategy that Nyjah does a stellar trick that forces them to score him big -> gap back lip 44:48 and then he adds a twist to it, to force them to score him even higher -> gap kickflip back lip 1:12:00
What the fuck... 56:20 Horigome his Nollie Inward Heelflip over a gap with that airtime in the best trick section? Shoulda been a 9.3 at the very least !!!
It’s cause Nyjah adds in more tricks than other skaters runs and flips his board a ton, Yuto does a lot of nollie stuff which is hard, but the board doesn’t leave his feet a whole lot, if he through in some flip into grinds in his run he’d be unstoppable
People complain about Nyjah's scores, but while Carlos Ribeiro had 5 tricks in his 8.4 run, Nyjah had TEN TRICKS in his 9.0 run, most of them just as technical as Carlos' or more. That's a difference of WAY more than 0.6 in my opinion.
I notice how unfairly Yuto is scored on SLS contest by watching old vids. First run he just does 7 tricks, street and ramp, weird combinations all non-stoping, no fail, for a 8.9

He's the best contest skater. Because of his consistency. Yeah the guy is amazing but there's skaters better at other things just like nyjah is better at some that they aren't.
It ain’t about being the best. Nyjahs a robot, guy can land any trick bolts and make it look easy which is absolutely mind blowing. But not nearly as fun to watch as someone with a more individual style for some people.
