O'NEILLs first run was soo good. Love having COLE on commentary. It is crazy to see a human being do those tricks with such ease back to back. Beautiful to watch.
Dashawn Jordan earned a new fan in me. Dude is an incredible, vicious skater and also has a heart of gold. Love how genuinely happy he was for Yuto, being the first guy, twice, out of all the skaters to go congratulate him. Awesome final. Sucks that Nyjah and Shane ended up falling short.
Acute Cloudd The crowd was small and those competing just seemed not that into it, of course, still trying to win, but now all that amped about the contest. That’s just me though.
1:18:47 - Suciu does a regular stance grapefruit, scored 8.5 1:22:35 - Yuto does a switch grapefruit, scored 9.2 I can see how those scores would make sense from a judge's perspective, but in my humble opinion, regular stance grapefruit is the harder trick because you have to lock in, grind, and roll away switch; which is the meat and bones of the trick. So a switch grapefruit only requires the 180 to be switch, and from there it's just a normal back feeble. Idk, maybe I'm wrong.

They judge cleanliness. Anything he does it almost perfect and cannot be done any cleaner. His style makes it look easy when almost any other skater in the contest cannot make it look as smooth as him.
He doesn't do anything really fancy or super technical but he does it insanely smooth and clean and effortless which is insane. So I think it's pretty deserved

Partial to Yuto, yes, but to Nyjah, no. Nyjah is often given low scores just because he is so consistent with everything he learns. Yuto annoys the shit out of me though. Back in the day the judges started to give lower scores to Nyjah, who then had to bring new and bigger tricks to win, whereas Yuto is still given big points for the same three-four tricks...
Kevins second run was fucken insane, sick tricks, lots of action, that nose to tail slide was fucken crazy yet he only gets a 8.9 i thought that was a 9.2 utleast

I think we were all surprised, when you watch replay of the trick, maybe for judges the "fault" on his back foot during slide removes few points, like - 0.3? Half of his foot was on bar not the board, a'd it is a final. I just try to understand why it should not be a 9 club for judges.

Most people don’t know that yutos father owns the biggest oil company in japan. He clearly pays the judges to give him a 9, no matter how overdone and boring the 270 rail slide is. The fact that it scored a 9, the same score as the guy who slid UP the fucking rail is a joke. I don’t like yuto anymore. His dad pays the judges and the judges made me dislike him

I love seeing the skaters responding to each other's runs and killer tricks. Thats why I love skateboarding ...Skaters love other skaters even when money is on the line they just SKATE together support each other and have fun.

I've all ways said it... the runs needs to be scored higher. Maybe have the limit at 15 or even 20 for a run? and 10 for a best trick. I think its obvious why this would make the competition much better.

Okay so around 1:14:58 or so, Yuto lands that switch front 180 to krook and snags an 8.8. Right before that, Deshawn lands a damn biggerspin flip back lip and also gets an 8.8 .... A BIGGERSPIN FLIP BACK LIP. I get that the landing was a little sketch for Deshawn, but still. I get why there's not one SLS comp where people wonder what the hell the judges are thinking half the time.
Only top 4 scores count. The total best 4 added up to 35.2, so they needed to get a 9.5 to knock out the lowest top 4 score they had. Not rocket science

Only top 4 scores count. The total best 4 added up to 35.2, so they needed to get a 9.5 to knock out the lowest top 4 score they had. Not rocket science
He just needed to up his lowest score by 1.8 to take the lead. So he needed a 9.5 to do that
