Only issue I had was my 13mm ratchet wasn't long enough. Had to remove a couple of the plastic covers that were screwed in with Philips screws in front of the battery, but got there in the end. Thanks!

just changed the battery though my golf 4 has more plastic stuff in the way so i had to dismount the headlights cover cause i couldnt reach the big bolt holding the battery, but everything worked fine. feel like a man now. thanks for the video tutorial

I tried a group 35 battery same dimensions to try saving money but I realized on my VW GOLF i could use only the H--5. I had to take the group 35 back to walmart and pay a little more for the H--5 EVERSTART, I paid the difference to get the H--5 because its completely flat on top. For my VW GOLF has to be the H--5 for perfect hood clearance.

Yes, as long as the negative terminal has already been removed it should be safe to do

Where is the clip to block the battery...bolt 13mm. Would have been nice to know where one can find it.

13mm hold down bolt can be found, if needed, at advance auto also probably at lowes. Ive got to get one i dropped mine n couldnt see where.

Have to remember, 13mm socket for the top of the bolt, & should be 8mm, bolt diameter. Dont know the length since i dont have the old bolt, i dropped.
