    This Thanksgiving will be just the two of us. I am going to prepare a fried chicken meal that we both agreed on. No children are coming because we are so vulnerable at 86 years old and both have preexisting physical conditions. Have a relaxed Holiday and God bless!

      Your 86....impressive to see you using UA-cam and even commenting 👏 my mother is in her 60's and doesn't have those skills. We are also just cooking for two at 34 and 38 years old as to not expose anyone to this "cold" we have...waiting on lab results to see if its covd19. Thankfully you can use technology to Skype or video chat with the family and still feel like you connected with them and stayed safe. Happy Thanksgiving 😊

    Just a little tip for your mashed potatoes, heat up some milk in the microwave, and use warm milk, it keeps the potatoes warmer, and makes it creamier 🧡

Pls read these verses to know it... John 11:25-26, Revelation 14:13, John 14:1-2, Luke 20:36, 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 and share it with your mom n comfort her. TC :)

    Awww, such sweet people! Did you notice his shirt was freshly pressed and she has the house clean and tidy but very cozy and welcoming? Thanksgiving AM, I am typically running around in a house dress, looking homeless and yeah. Before everyone arrives I get it together, hurry and go over the bathroom one more time, vacuum, DH sees to the farm chores and such. Very fun to see people that really do seem to have it together from the get-go!

    Both my grandparents have passed away. My grandma was raised in Hazleton, Idaho and oh how you remind me so much of her. My grandparents raised me and after they passed we bought their house. This is the first Thanksgiving without either one of them here. It makes me sad. And it feels odd. But I’m grateful for your video and my favorite part was when you sat down together and passed around the food.

    Lumpy gravy comes from pouring in the too much flour mixture too quickly at the same time. Poor in parts of the mixture at a time while whisking the pan. I love how You two work together in the kitchen. 💗

    • @LaSopRAWna
      @LaSopRAWna 4 роки тому

      i'm thinking lumpy gravy comes from pouring the flour/water mixture into BOILING drippings, too, where you'd in essence be making "dumplings." it looks like the drippings were not boiling before you added the flour/water mixture and you added a little at a time and whisked continually.

    Both of you are wonderful people! But try adding some flavours to your gravey. For example roast onions and root vegetables with rosemary and then add the turkey juices. You can add cider too. Strain it and reduce. If needed add some flour to give thickness. Your way it doesnt have much flavour I assume. You wondered why people are afraid of gravey. I think they are because it HAS more to it than just mixing flour into the juice.
    Steaming the turkey keeps it very moist which is nice but put it on high heat into the oven afterwards to roast it. That gives much more flavour.
