Kirk, I laughed and I cried and rewinded many times throughout this episode. THANK YOU! You are helping me to stand. The pain of doubt by everyone my entire life came full circle. I am married 34 years with a 26 and 21 yo. (My biological doesn’t have grandkids and always wanted them) True Family! (Let that sit) I just hosted my genuine biological for Thanksgiving and I have no words. He watched videos of my children and engaged with us beautifully. This is a process that is not for the weak. Man did yall feel that? The shift when they started speaking about Kirk’s biological family. I think they might of even forgot they were being recorded. This was beautiful! When men drop and check their egos and allow vulnerability to permeate. Bet they become Life long friends. Kirk spoke freely and honestly about his pain. Which allowed Unc to not chastise or provoke, but lovingly and empathetically encourage. To make a sacred space where he still called him up higher but held space for his pain. I had the pleasure of meeting Kirk while working my part-time job and he was super down to earth and kind. I didn't get a chance to talk to him because I was working but I was able to get a quick pic with him!!! Kirk is a real one and I have been listening to his music since I was in college. His music really got me through some tough times and I appreciate his ministry and ability to touch the hearts of people. I know he will probably never read this comment but I had a chance to meet him years ago when he visited my church in Nashville, TN. Kirk can PREACHHHH!!!!! If you never had the chance to hear or see Kirk minister to people, you are missing out! Kirk is anointed and truly living in his purpose. Kirk, thank you for reminding me how much GOD loves us! I’ve been a fan of Kirk Franklin since ‘95. When I saw him perform in The New Orleans Superdome. His music kept me from abandoning God as a teenager. When life was going crazy,his albums helped me stay grounded. Even listening to Master P,Eightball & MJG,UGK,Ruff Ryders,Jay Z. Kirk stayed in the mix,when my nights were darkest. Thank you for that

I'm honestly here because of the now infamous Katt Williams interview. Why, because as much as I love Kirk's music, I maybe watched one clip of this interview and feel that THIS interview, from three weeks ago, should have gotten press, even without watching five minutes of this yet.
Best interview to date. This interview touch my heart in so many ways because it allows me to look at my own life and my upbringing to know that God hasn’t given up on me and never will.
He is so right about the limitations within the church and trying to balance that perception with opportunities. I grew up in C.O.G.I.C., and their idea of success is only reserved for the pastor. They believe everyone needs to stay on God's path, struggle, and miss opportunities. As soon. as I was older.....I realized that a relationship with GOD is a personal journey, not what others think it should be.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kirk Franklin on a flight and he insisted on putting my luggage in the overhead bin for me. He is a very kind and humble human, and a gentleman.❤🙏🏾

Im only 15 mins in, but this is the best description of some of the problems in the church. Taking a personal feeling & trying to force someone to believe your feeling. Most of problems in today's society. I get what Unc was saying about some of the newer gospel artist as it took me a minute to start listening to some of the new gospel artist. I loved the old school gospel artists. But I have definitely heard "Take me to the King," so don't fuss at me😂

Life long friends. Kirk spoke freely and honestly about his pain. Which allowed Unc to not chastise or provoke, but lovingly and empathetically encourage. To make a sacred space where he still called him up higher but held space for his pain. I could go on all day about what those kind of convos do not only in us, but to those around us. Thank you for your humanity kings! Thank you for your vulnerable masculinity. I’m better for having witnessed it.

My apologies in advance for this long comment but I must say that this was one of the best interviews I've watched in a long time. I will give Kirk Franklin his flowers NOW!!! I had the pleasure of meeting Kirk while working my part-time job and he was super down to earth and kind. I didn't get a chance to talk to him because I was working but I was able to get a quick pic with him!!! Kirk is a real one and I have been listening to his music since I was in college. His music really got me through some tough times and I appreciate his ministry and ability to touch the hearts of people. I know he will probably never read this comment but I had a chance to meet him years ago when he visited my church in Nashville, TN. Kirk can PREACHHHH!!!!! If you never had the chance to hear or see Kirk minister to people, you are missing out! Kirk is anointed and truly living in his purpose. Kirk, thank you for reminding me how much GOD loves us! You are a class act and I really appreciate you!!!!!! Thank you for doing this interview Mr. Sharpe!!! This made my night!❣

I’ve been a fan of Kirk Franklin since ‘95. When I saw him perform in The New Orleans Superdome. His music kept me from abandoning God as a teenager. When life was going crazy,his albums helped me stay grounded. Even listening to Master P,Eightball & MJG,UGK,Ruff Ryders,Jay Z. Kirk stayed in the mix,when my nights were darkest. Thank you for that

He made some great gospel music, especially for the young generation. I'm honestly here because of the now infamous Katt Williams interview. Why, because as much as I love Kirk's music, I maybe watched one clip of this interview and feel that THIS interview, from three weeks ago, should have gotten press, even without watching five minutes of this yet.
Best interview to date. This interview touch my heart in so many ways because it allows me to look at my own life and my upbringing to know that God hasn’t given up on me and never will.
He is so right about the limitations within the church and trying to balance that perception with opportunities. I grew up in C.O.G.I.C., and their idea of success is only reserved for the pastor. They believe everyone needs to stay on God's path, struggle, and miss opportunities. As soon. as I was older.....I realized that a relationship with GOD is a personal journey, not what others think it should be.
I had the pleasure of meeting Kirk Franklin on a flight and he insisted on putting my luggage in the overhead bin for me. He is a very kind and humble human, and a gentleman.❤🙏🏾

Im only 15 mins in, but this is the best description of some of the problems in the church. Taking a personal feeling & trying to force someone to believe your feeling. Most of problems in today's society. I get what Unc was saying about some of the newer gospel artist as it took me a minute to start listening to some of the new gospel artist. I loved the old school gospel artists. But I have definitely heard "Take me to the King," so don't fuss at me😂
