I appreciate you. Thanks for your wisdom, respect and appreciation of Mother Nature. Your passion for bamboo is so satisfying. I need to look no further than to you for info 🕊️ God bless.
I grow this same sea breeze bamboo in North Central Florida, it’s interesting how the branching habits are different in different climates, mine does not turn yellowish in the winter, and I am actually colder than you in zone 9a.
I'm sure humidity has an impact on bamboo. It's so dry here! This past winter was the very first time I saw leaves yellow and drop. I believe it was due to an unusually long winter with frost dates from November thru March and then 60 mph winds. It should come back with strong growth now that temperatures are hot here.
Thanks for this series! Actually, I only found this channel because I was searching for more information on seabreeze bamboo a year or two ago and this was one of the only channels with information about this variety (in some tour vid I think), aside from that one guy selling it
As always, giving excellent information and I've been watching your videos about bamboo precisely because I need one, it's not exactly for privacy, it's because the sun shines on the house all afternoon and it's on two floors. What bamboo do you recommend and where do I order it? Don't you sell bamboo shoots? Anyway, your explanation was excellent. Thank you.
Thanks! I have not been successful in propagating bamboo so I don't have any plants for sale. Greenlife Nursery in Phoenix sells clumping bamboo. They get them from the same place I buy mine online, Tropical Bamboo Nursery in Loxahatchee Florida. For your purpose, Seabreeze would be a great choice. It's a bit too hot to order bamboo for online delivery now (as they could die in transit) so your better bet is to pick it up locally. I recommend calling Greenlife first to confirm they have Seabreeze in stock.
Love the sound of the water in the background. I've always been concerned about bamboo spreading into other areas of the garden, but the 12" barrier you use is a great solution. I'll be curious to see how your mangos do in that Arizonia heat and very low humidity. It's definitely starting to get hot!! I really liked the milder spring, but my trees are all running a little late this year. I just ordered a Santa Clara Gold Avocado tree from Epicenter Nursery in Santa Cruz, CA. Do you grow tomatoes?
The heat is really pushing great growth on the mango trees so I'm excited to see their progress over the next few months. The avocados are doing well too. I do grow tomatoes along with other veggies in my container beds. The tomatoes were amazing this year with the mild spring but are now baking on the vine so they are probably done until fall.
@@EnlightenmentGarden I love home grown tomatoes! I use a 50% shade cloth that has made a big difference with my tomatoes. It protects the flowers so they don't wilt and die off, and keeps the tomatoes from burning. This will be my 2nd season using the shade cloth. Nice to hear your mangos are doing well. Looking forward to a post on them later in the summer. Stay cool..........
Can this be grown in a long pot, as a privacy screen? I have pavers down that go to the fence line. Dani plant this in a large, long pot and have it grow to 10-12 feet high to block my neighbors view of my yard?
Seabreeze will not do well in a container. It will get root-bound very quickly because it grows so fast and is a medium-sized bamboo. For container growing, I'd suggest a dwarf variety like dwarf Buddha belly, Alphonse Karr, or Chinese Goddess.

Excellent!
Hi Natasha, could i put a clump of sea breeze next to a shangrala mulberry?
Hi! You certainly could but they'll probably bump into each other as they both are very aggressive growers on width and height over just a few years.
Hi! Where did you get the barrier from??
Dakota Tin is online and carries rolls of garden edging up to 15" high. I got the galvalume finish
