9:25 I kinda took it as a metaphor for the idol system. All these huge companies micromanaging everything the idols do, say, wear. Imagine if they flipped the script on them? And that's kinda tough, because Simon their Producer/CEO was an idol, started XGALX with these girls, and they seem to really care for him and are enjoying themselves.

It'd be dumb to take it fully at face value since the company wouldn't probably reveal bad things. But, he just seemed to be really open and honest and consistently an authority figure as well as supportive within the scope of what was shown. So, he is sort of like their dad or a close mentor instead of some ceo pulling the strings from a building somewhere.

I think the message was about how female idols are treated like they're puppets by their companies; I'm not saying that it's any different from male idols, but the song is more targeted towards that, I believe.

its a bit of everything, they do say “where girls be takin control” implying it is about girls and boys. but there are many angles to it which is what makes the meaning special, it also could be about the government but then again the men are the ones in power there.
i think the song is supposed to make men feel uncomfortable, to show them what women go through on the daily. it’s supposed to show a different perspective. it doesn’t show that if women were in control they would control men, it shows the experience that women go through and puts men directly in their shoes.
