Where does the discharge of the gas goes after the test? Is it released into the air? When you expose a monitor to the gas it is detecting and it detects the level it is designed to detect, the excess gas appears to be released into the air or some way to capture it. The gas goes into the monitor and it has to come out somehow when the clip comes off of the front of the monitor. Reason, I am asking is: We had bump tested 2 H2S monitors with the Honeywell IntelliDoX docking station, and after the tests, we smelled rotten eggs and we left the area. It didn't have a way to capture the excess gas. Somehow the gas going in to test the monitors has to be released somehow.
Thank you for your comment, Tornado. We’ve looked into this and found the gas does disperse into the air after use. While calibrating with the H2S monitor, smelling rotten eggs for a short while after is normal. If the room you’re working in is fairly small, it’s recommended to open a window. This will help disperse the gas more quickly. Please let us know if we can be of any further help .
Better the area where bump. Test should be done must be properly ventilated or cylinder cabinet must have exhaust fan to dilute the gas in the air and use of recommended mask even to not expose to.the small.amount of gas..
