I feel like a funny April Fools joke would be Mojang announcing a small update but working on it a lot in secret, then saying on March 31st that they needed an extra year, then the next day they release the update they've been working so hard on and it's a huge update that was meticulously prepared to make nearly nobody infuriated, and the update would revolutionize whatever the community was asking for.
