    I'm not usually into shirts like that, but that's pretty funny. I'm getting back into gardening and that's the size of my bed. I'm growing potatoes in it. I plan on adding more and more beds that size but will be building removable cages around them to keep out grasshoppers.

      @TheNakidGardeners  Місяць тому +1

      Welcome back to gardening. Good luck with the grasshoppers. We had no success with keeping them away. Plan on putting some bird oasis around the garden to help eat them lol

    I must admit I was smiling a bit as you used the string to lay out the new bed, not trusting your line of sight. The reason you make such good videos is that you are aware of the details.
    I hope you win with your big watermelon.

    Good luck on that contest. I caught your live and enjoyed it. Question, how deep is the bed you made for the watermelon planting?

    • @TheNakidGardeners
      @TheNakidGardeners  Місяць тому +1

      That bed is about 5-1/2" deep. I used 2x6 lumber. Most raised beds should be about 5.5 to 6" deep.

      @@TheNakidGardeners Nice thank you, for the size. I've been making 12-inch-deep beds, so I may change that up.

    Be careful of the Black Cow. Another homesteader's garden was ruined with the current use of Black Cow.

      Yea we heard there has been an issue with it at certain plant and distribution centers. We have been using it for over 6 years with no issues though
