- Masks have become a hot commodity as the Covid-19 coronavirus wreaks havoc around the world. Even before the outbreak, China was already the largest producer of surgical masks. Now, with demand soaring, factories have been working around the clock to produce even more.
We went to the factory of Sanqi, China’s largest mask manufacturer, to learn how they’re coping with demand.

Some of these workers were not wearing gloves when touching and manipulating the masks (at 0:15, at 0:36, at 2:14 and at 3:15). The worker filmed closely will have gloves but in the background you can see clearly the other workers with no gloves. I don’t get it, they wear masks but no gloves and someone is buying these to put over their mouth and nose, disgusting 😩

The Chinese government has asked mask factories to pay workers three times their usual wage during the outbreak. The price of the mask has doubled (from $0.15 to $0.30 each).
N95 masks are a little more expensive. Now they are about $2 (usually about $1)

Hmm. First china produces cheap masks to kill local manufacturing around the world. Then creates a virus and portrays itself as a victim. Now when the world needs these masks china is is selling it at 20 times the cost before .
On top of it now china wants to malign its main competitor India by using videos of small fake manufacturers of masks. Yes there may be some unregulated small mask manufacturers in india but so does china and other growing countries but India has world class Europe certified masks manufacturers as well.
Indians only need masks when China starts being sick from eating animals. Else they don’t need masks , 95 % are vegetarian

Your information is wrong. At present, China can produce 120 million masks a day. The number of masks produced by this factory is less than 1% of the total output, not 10%
