One of the real problems facing all atheists, particularly those relying on a scientifically informed view, is the problem of entropy: that the universe started out in a state of maximum energy density or 0 (zero) entropy proceeding to decrease in energy density thereafter thus doomed to ever increasing entropy (except for short periods relating to local islands like the solar system arranged around our sun, for example) until it's eventual heat death. The paradox thus exists how was the universe able to arrange itself in the first place into its most energy dense form without an input of some kind (meaning it would require other energy to achieve this original state since it could not be achieved autonomously)? The fact remains, by logical deduction, before the universe came into existence it required an organising cause - which is what one might refer to as God or Allah to give Him His correct name.
@@think-islam-channel - not really, and certainly not convincingly as their arguments all rely on huge conjecture as well as massive statistical insignificance. You have to acknowledge one of the traits of humans is their ability to rationalise pretty much everything with some bullshit argument even in the face of stronger evidence/arguments. Which is what will lead so many into the fire thru' their explaining away the unexplainable: including tyranny, murder, torture etc and the supposed non-existence of God, ultimately.
_The paradox thus exists how was the universe able to arrange itself in the first place into its most energy dense form_ No, I don't think that's a problem. For one thing, I don't have to explain how the universe exists in order to be an atheist, since atheism has nothing to do with that. I'm an atheist because I haven't seen even *one piece of good evidence* that any gods are real. I'm quite willing to admit that I don't know how the universe began (and neither do you, whether you're willing to admit it or not). This is just more of the "god of the gaps" kind of argument from ignorance, that's all. But second, as far as I know, no one is suggesting that happened. No one knows how the universe "started out." Cosmologists have different ideas about it, but they haven't come to a consensus because it's very hard to get evidence. And *evidence* is how we distinguish reality from delusion and wishful-thinking. But if a god can just... exist, with no explanation required, then so can a "most energy dense form," certainly. In other words, this wouldn't be a paradox _anyway_ because you haven't demonstrated that it _needed_ to "arrange itself." If everything started out in a state of maximum energy density (zero entropy, as you put it), then there's no paradox. Of course, we don't know if that happened, and it's unlikely that the natural laws we see inside of our own local manifestation of spacetime would function the same way outside it or 'before' it (if 'before' even makes sense in that situation). But this seems to be just a god-of-the-gaps kind of argument from ignorance, with an additional claim of a paradox which doesn't seem to exist _at all._ After all, where's the "paradox" in going from maximum entropy to decreasing entropy? But, as I noted earlier, even cosmologists don't know how "the universe started out," so all of this is just speculation, not evidence. Get back to me when you have *one piece of good evidence* that your god isn't just imaginary. Because _that's_ why I'm an atheist. (One piece of good evidence might not be enough to convince me, but it would let me take religious claims _seriously,_ at least. After all, if you don't even have *one,* you have nothing at all.) _before the universe came into existence it required an organising cause - which is what one might refer to as God or Allah_ And what "organizing cause" did your god require? Obviously, if your god can just... exist, with no explanation (and no evidence) required, then so can... whatever there was 'before' the Big Bang (which no one knows, even if we can ask about 'before' in the absence of time).
The philosopher mentioned in this video managed to overcome his ego. I think many modern scientists and thinkers understand that atheism and materialism do not make any sense, but they can't accept it because of their arrogance. Thank you for a nice video. Keep it going.
Through my personal study, I came to a conclusion that gives you credibility that there are two types of atheism: atheism is practical and atheism is theoretical. All atheists are theoretical, meaning they atheist out of love for atheism and arrogance. As you mentioned to us When reason and logic accept that 0+0=75, we conclude that there is no God

@Patricia Hill so? He did say the author embracing aristotle god or something and we all know it. It is about comparative religion or in this point is atheism with religion in general. Nothing wrong if he's refering islam as well. You just need to be chill. The point is the author changes his mind that there is A god. Then the discussion leads us to monotheism faith, which makes us comparing the teaching of the religion between christianity and islam.
@Patricia Hill I think you need to push CTRL ALT DELETE in order to reset your knowledge about Islam. Many of you pretend to show love of Jesus but in fact are more mean, rude, and treacherous and talking with hate and without knowledge. Before you point out a finger to the beloved Muhammad, you must know first this. He fought for his Freedom of Religion! That is a right that he didn't have at that time, and the Kuraysh Tribe didn't want to give him this right. If I will take from you your freedom of speech how would you feel yourself? Aren't you going to fight for your right? That is exactly what he did! Therefore the tribes wanted to terminate his monotheistic religion by killing him and they asked help from other tribes and also the Jewish tribes who lived in Makkah and Medinah. What would you do if someone tries to oppress you and to kill you so that you can't speak freely ? And yes you will stand up. That is what he did! In his reign of 23 years my beloved prophet was not a warmongering warlord. You need to just put this into perspective and not behave as low IQ dude without any knowledge. He fought about 80 battles where the total casualties on his side were 259 men and on the enemy side 759 men. He had forbidden to kill women, children, old people, fauna, flora , priests, in war! In total there were for all the 80 battles 1018 casualties! Let us compare with next wars, Alexander the great wars; 142000 deaths, Napoleonic wars: 2.000.000. Crusaders wars: 3.000.000. Roman Carthagic wars : 2.000.000. Hitler: .60.000.000. Spanic wars native Americans (Inca Maya Aztec etc):12.000.000 deaths. This proves that our prophet is a true prophet who limited bloodshed compared to the real warmongering idiots who named themselves Christians such as Hitler and Napoleon and others. Do you get the picture? All prophets (David, Jesus, Mozes, Abraham, Noah, Muhammad ) came with One consistent message to mankind: "There is only One Allah, believe in Him and pray to Him". Question, as you said Jesus brings love according to your bible, I don't think so since in, Luke 19:27-28 states: But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me. '" After Jesus had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.…, Have you read well your Bible? Was "killing" the love you meant? Jesus nor Muhammad will never say these words, they were not sent to shed blood of people even if they were unbelievers. When Muhammad entered Makkah the polytheists weren't harmed nor prosecuted, they were free to live. May Allah guide you and us to the right and true path!
He didn't deliver war,it was imposed on him.He had 313 men power against 1000, and all 313 didn't posses weapons, some had swords, some archers, some were riding horse and camels, Ill prepare for battle, but they fought with determination and won.

The complexity of cellular chemistry, especially gene maintenance and protein synthesis, boggles the mind in terms of its complexity. And how this all came to exist simultaneously within a phospholipid membrane to make a fully functioning cell is simply unimaginable to me without there being some sort of externally applied coordination. It's one thing to gather an orchestra together in one place, but it's another thing entirely to harmonise each musician in such a way that they collectively produce a meaningful, and hopefully beautiful, piece of music.
@@bradholms6400 Actually I was employing the "chicken and egg" argument: cells depend on a complex cell membrane which must contain all the various cell organelles as well as facilitate various other functions such as gates which transfer nutrients useful for, and waste products produced by, cell chemistry; but cell membranes are built and maintained by proteins made by gene functions, which themselves have extremely complex processes. So you see, cell membranes contain everything required for cell chemistry, but cell membranes are created by the very same cell chemistry. So which came first? The watchmaker thought experiment is all about how such complexity could arise: could something as complex as a pocket watch come into existence by chance, or does it rather suggest a maker? That argument could be made for cells, but even simple cells have a complexity orders of magnitude greater than a simple pocket watch. I agree that the pocket watch is not a great analogy, because a mechanical watch is not a dynamic living, self replicating homeostatic system like a cell. But if you reject the argument, but can't suggest an alternative solution, then surely you must at least remain agnostic with regard to the "maker" hypothesis unless you can definitively rule it out: which noone really can. To claim that cells appeared by chance, without evidence, is itself a belief statement. I don't rule it out: I'm agnostic on the chance argument, but the maker argument seems more plausible in this instance in order to avoid the chicken and egg conundrum. Please bear in mind that this planet is evidently optimal for life: it started very soon after the Earth formed and has persisted for billions of years, so would it be reasonable to assume that life would be a simple or easy process to get going when chance requires a long time to work: to get all the components of cellular activity in the right place, in the right configuration, at the right time, doing the right things to function long enough in an environment which is just right for survival, providing all the right nutrients, all long enough to enable cell reproduction which this chance event seems set up to do? On a stable planet, around a stable star, in a stable solar system with just the right type and size of gas giants which soak up most of the solar system debris which could be harmful to life on earth? The chance theory is so incredibly far fetched when you think about it. But if life got started so soon, apparently with ease, would it not be reasonable to expect the spontaneous appearance of life to continue? Shouldn't life be popping into existence by chance on a fairly regula basis, especially considering how amenable this planet is to life? Yet there is no evidence for the spontaneous creation of life from inorganic materials, beyond the formation of some essential building blocks, such as amino acids. I'm guessing you don't understand just how complex cellular chemistry, indeed cellular anatomy, really is. But if the "watch maker" idea is so bad, what would you suggest as an alternative? Peace!

@@nassar2156 Please forgive me, I am locked into so many comment debates that I have lost track. If you are asking about my statement about the claim in the video that Anthony Flew changed from being an atheist to believing in the Abrahamic God, I can back it up by suggesting you read his book. As I mentioned before, there is much in it that is confused, not least being his poor grasp of modern science. It is this that leads me to think he was beginning to suffer from senility. He admitted that he was unable to do the writing and I suspect that much of what we read is in fact the work of his co-author. But the main point is that he is very clear that he came to believe in a deistic god. i.e. a god who created the universe and then stepped away and who does not get involved in any way. Unless and until scientists can actually prove this idea to be false, which I do not think will be possible, the deistic god is at least plausible and it does not conflict in any way with what we know of the universe, ourselves and our planet. The author of the video claims that Flew came to believe in the Abrahamic God but that is either a bad mistake or a deliberate falsehood. Having now watched other videos by the same author, I think it is more likely a mistake brought on by his own beliefs.
@@BloggingTheology Thanks, I'm a strong believer that even in this day and age, we have not been left in darkness regarding the greater truth of the reality of life, that the greater truth can even still be found in the day to words we use everyday, if we take the time to con-template them correctly. Noticed a book on etymology you were showing on an earlier video around of the origin of many English words. I have a fascination for words, in fact I go further than this to believe all language are a gauge of our ability to understand the greater truth underpinning existence, that key words hold exavtly that, important keys to unlock the greater truth as a way for seeing the true spiritual reality that is underpinning existence. An example of this the english word 'matter'. We use this word to describe the physical property of all material things. But 'Matter' has another meaning, what matters to us. It can actually be proven that nothing we as humans have ever done happened unless it first mattered to us. So it can be seen that the primary cause of our making things happen, the intentions that matter to the one making it is the primary cause of the physical actions we undertake. Which points to showing the spiritual desire to make or create can be seen as the foundational cause of what is created by us humans. Why then can people not accept that there is an even greater spiritual cause underpinning all creation. That this incredible Uni-verse could not and can not continue to exist without a greater spiritual input and intention causing it to exist. We can see this as the only way our own abilities gives us the capacity to make physical things form in our own reality from the ideas we have. Yet fail to accept this cause and effect for a universe far greater and more complex than anything we could even comprehend making. There are many English words that have deeper meanings that help expressing a deeper insight for thinking beyond the physical reality. Just a thought to share. I'm happy to share the many I have found if interested.
God bless Antony Flew. He was a very brave man he knew that once he revealed that he believed in God that many of his atheist friends would turn on him.

No, the existence of music, love, empathy or curiosity does not point to a ruler of the universe that is personally concerned about our sexuality. @Borsalino Kizaru Nowhere. I can't be anywhere unless I'm alive. And there is also the time when I'm a baby where I am not me at all. My consciousness still has to develop.
The satellite phone analogy is a good argument for consciousness not being local to the body but coming from a greater source somewhere inaccessible to us
The most interesting point was, that if nature gives rise to consciousness, then consciousness must have already been there attracting nature in this direction. Actually, that is awesome!
That just sounds like a very narcissistic assumption. In your view the most defining attribute of yourself is your consciousness. So you just assume consciousness is the most important thing in the universe. But its really not.
@Tom Sutherland Depending on how you define it you can also exchange "consciousness" with "the force" from Star Wars and get the same result. Some people are simply dodging into vagueness because that feels like you provide a smaller target that way. But religion is not really so vague if we are honest. Religions claim that they know what the ruler of the universe thinks about our sexuality. If they are suddenly getting vague when they are required to spit some actual facts, this is a sign that they are hiding in vagueness on purpose.
@@AliothAncalagon I have thought about consciousness being but a small part of what we are. I would imagine that 95% of what bodies do, we have no awareness of. For example, do you have any awareness of your uriters transporting urine from the kidneys to the bladder? Do you know HOW your brain works or which muscles lift your hand? Healthy people don't know of such things. Our consciousness runs a very small part of our lives. But why are some people in prison? Because of what they did with their consciousness. Yet their entire body goes to prison, not just the mind or soul. When a king is asleep, nobody fears him until he wakes up. So, I am convinced, that consciousness is the real meaning of what we are. I also wonder, is our individualality real? We come from ancestors, and our parents hope that we give rise to future generations, and a person alone, is completely disfunctional. We are like knots in a net
@@benavraham4397 None of your points is wrong per se. And on some I would agree. But its really important to understand that you have decided here what "the real meaning" is according to YOUR personal point of view. Because "meaning" is no objective property in the first place. You can decide that consciousness gives things meaning. And I would say that there is some truth to that. If you would theoretically only be sleepwalking your entire life without consciously taking part its not hard to convince someone that this can hardly be the "meaning" of our existence. But this is no objective reality. Its the subjective truth of a species that holds active consciousness in very high regard..... because thats its own reality. If you will, its a very selfish perspective. We say that the thing has meaning that we want to have meaning because its what our existence is made of. If our reality would be different, our perspective might be entirely different.
@@AliothAncalagon You push my mind into a corner to understand, and that's fine. I can imagine that from the view of a sea spunge, consciousness, would seem superfulous. The difference between pre-Islamic Ramadan and Islamic Ramadan is that pre-Islamic Ramadan was practiced by pagan tribes in Arabia and Islamic Ramadan is practiced by Muslims all over the world. During Ramadan pagan Arabs used to abstain from food, water, sexual contact etc, from dawn to dusk. Muslims practice the same pagan rituals during Ramadan. It is a well-known fact that Islam adapted this pagan practice of fasting. There is a Hadith in Sahih Bukhari that mentions the ritual. Bukhari 5:58:172 - Narrated Aisha: ‘Ashura was a day on which the tribe of Quraish used to fast in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance. The Prophet also used to fast on this day. So when he migrated to Medina, he fasted on it and ordered (the Muslims) to fast on it. When the fasting of Ramadan was enjoined, it became optional for the people to fast or not to fast on the day of Ashura.’ The fasting for Ashura (10th of Muharram) originated from a Quraish pagan practice. Ramadan fasting came later from Sabian tradition. Sabians are mentioned in several verses of the Quran [al-Baqarah 2:62], [al-Hajj 22:17], [al-Maa’idah 5:69] along with Christians and Jewish. Sabians, a non-Muslim Iraqi tribe, believed in monotheism, observed a 30 day fast every year and prayed 5 times a day.
@Planck M. Islam is submission to God in concise terms right? Also consider this verse 4:31 "If you avoid the worst of what you are forbidden, We will remit your sins, and admit you by a Gate of Honor." Is there worse than shirk according to Islam? Allah knows how and why humans came to their conclusions and he is the best and fairest judge. To my knowledge Islam also puts strong emphasis especially on the state we leave this world in. I don't have any particular Hadith to quote at hand, but I am sure there were some I came across.

Philosophy is about understanding. Christianity is only about itself and the narcassistic idea that the ruler of the universe is personally concerned about your sexuality. Thats why its not really offering "understanding" regarding anything. The last good Christian argument I heard of was the one that was asking weither God is evil, because he wants people to suffer.
@@AliothAncalagon If you read widely and watch many other videos, you will discover that there's much more to Christian philosophy than you think there is. The fact that a great God concerns himself with us is really amazing, and his concern regarding our sexuality reflects his benevolence and desire to see us florish as individuals and as communities and as the human race. It's not really narcissistic since its implications regarding moral responsibility demand that we don't think only of ourselves but also help others. Living without regard for God's presence or existence could just as easily also be narcissistic, but is not necessarily so.

Or those parts of the bible that explain which specific rules you should follow if you sell your daughter into slavery. But this should tell you that the bible is neither "holy" nor is its content especially wise or clever. Its just a story some dudes from 2000 years ago wrote down. Some of it is nice advice, much of it is prehistoric nonsense. And the reason why I can see that and you don't (yet?) is that I read parts of the bible that you obviously choose to ignore. The reason why you ignore the stupid parts of the bible and clutch at the rest is that your moral values don't come from the bible. If this was any different all your moral values would agree with the bible. They don't because your actual morality decides which parts of the bible you want to take seriously. You should care for a widow? Your morality says yes, so lets read that part more often and feel good about the "great values" in your holy fantasy novel. Killing fortune tellers? Your morality says no, so lets try to avoid that part as often as possible to not feed the idea that your holy fantasy novel is not so moral after all. Your morality does not need a book. And I am extremely glad that your personal morality is more powerful than the moral ideas from some iron age men who happened to write a book people now take very seriously. Because it means that you are a more moral person than those original authors originally intended you to be.

That is by far the most elaborate, scientific, conclusive, enlightened, humilitistic, description of God I think I've ever heard. The only thing left is to except that description into your heart.
Personally, (eve as a child) I thought that there just might be a God. I thought that there just might NOT be a god, also. I could argue both sides. I wanted to believe but, all discussion seemed without evidence. Still, I would not reject the possibility. Then, after MANY years and religious opportunities, I had a (very) personal and enthralling experience which gave me the leap of faith that I needed. Because of that, I took the next step (in the dark) and was rewarded with more (personal) experience. Now, I know. There are things which I believe and things which I know. I think that each of us may NEED that very personal experience to truly believe. THIS may be what happened to Anthony Flew.
Sadly this is just the old argument from personal incredulity. So, "I can't believe that something as complex as the universe could happen by chance, so I invent something, of necessity more complex than the universe, to explain how the universe came to be." It's important to remember that, byu their own logic, theists have to accept that their god is more complex than what their god created. So how to explain god? There is no explanation, god was always just there. My question is, if god could just 'be there', why couldn't the elements of the universe just 'be there'?
A very good point, but the theists' concept is a bit different. It is not a question of complexity, but rather that of Mind vs. Matter. Matter cannot bring itself into order without the Mind. Mind can organize itself, and anything else. Matter had mind behind it, no matter what is this mind. No pun intended
To me it comes down to the laws of the universe that we can measure and observe. Matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed. Entropy must increase. Life only comes from life. Meaningful information only comes from a mind. Those however are only the laws within our universe but it means that the universe cannot create itself or spontaneously generate life. If there is something outside the observable universe however, and the previous statements would indicate that there must be, then it may not, and logically must not, be limited by the same laws. A God, from nothing, or who ‘has always existed’ is only a surprise from the viewpoint of our universes laws, but logically there must be somewhere where those laws don’t prevail, otherwise the universe wouldn’t exist at all.
The elements could be just be eternally there. We wouldn't be having this conversation if there was no intelligent catalyst to transform inanimate matter into living, breathing, sentient life, though. There'd just be a bunch of inanimate matter.

(Muhammed Asad, The Message of the Quran, 41:53) based on the commentaries from the classical tafsirs inclduing those from the Islamic mystical tradition. Also it would be fascinating to see what Ashari and Maturidi theology says on this issue. Shaykh Abdul Hakim Murad can definitely give you enough support in this effort if you succeed in getting some time from him.

But how does it even compare to trinity? Where trinity talk about 3 separate(son, god, mother(for some other sect Holy spirit) entities and then say these 3 are one and thus trinity. But when it comes to me, I am just one but I have different relationships but in trinity it isn't talking about relationships, it's talking about separate entities, Son who came as Jesus(as Christians believe), Mother who gave birth to Jesus and God residing in haven and then it says that these 3 are one and the same.(as far as I have heard from all the Christians I have asked and some priests too who explained in similar manner and have found so in my own looking into things). Christianity has proof. I'm not quite sure what or who I am but I confessed to myself earlier this very evening that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour. I'm not sure if that makes me a Christian or not - I'm a Doubting Thomas (which is ironic because Thomas really is my name) - but I've been looking for proof of the Resurrection for a while and it's all there in history, not just the Bible. You just have to look at the historical facts and make logical deductions based on surviving evidence.
@@tomnorton4277 ..Tom.. Gotta love how religious theists are swift to cling onto anything that affirms their dogma. I am at a phase where i find myself accepting such a god. An impersonal god. A Descartian, Spinozist God. I have no quarrel with such a god.
Very true. For atheists, what will happen to them if there is indeed Supreme Being that create, sustain, watchful, etc and The One that has sent His Messengers to guide them? And for believers what will happen to them if there is no life beyond this physical life?
NM Atheists would discover whether he was a true God because he would not be like us and punish a non believer, that is a human weakness. For believers in a God it would simply be like sleeping at night , the only difference is you never ever regain consciousness..either way it is certainly not a worry. ❤️
@Patricia Hill Well, I guess it's not that weird for them not to believe in those things considering that there is no scientific evidence for them. However, whoever says that those things definitely didn't happen just because we humans haven't been able to find the scientific evidence is really arrogant. What has humanity achieved so far? We haven't even explored the whole space yet, let alone discovering the 'ghaib' that is not supposed to be perceptible. Science is still growing. So many discoveries hasn't been made yet. It's just too early for them to reach that premature conclusion.
What a stupid statement. I was an athiest for 40 years for goodness sake, and it took no faith at all... but it took a lot more ignorance to remain an aithiest thats for sure.
@@jamesmorphe8003 Very wise words. How gullible people are who believe we evolved from apes. The fact that there are still apes today after millions of years, is proof we DID NOT EVOLVE from apes! Besides, there has never been the discovery of a missing link.
All of his original premises except requiring empirical evidence of God were flawed. So, once his perspective changed to be able to see that the evidence is so mundane to us that we take it for granted, all the rest naturally fell away.
This is exactly what my lecturer told me. Entropy is the answer
@@heru6394 - yes, it's a huge difficulty.
Isn't there the perspective about whether it is a closed system or not. I thought atheists had a reply to this.
_The paradox thus exists how was the universe able to arrange itself in the first place into its most energy dense form_
No, I don't think that's a problem.
In other words, this wouldn't be a paradox _anyway_ because you haven't demonstrated that it _needed_ to "arrange itself."
If everything started out in a state of maximum energy density (zero entropy, as you put it), then there's no paradox.
After all, if you don't even have *one,* you have nothing at all.)
_before the universe came into existence it required an organising cause - which is what one might refer to as God or Allah_
And what "organizing cause" did your god require? Obviously, if your god can just... exist, with no explanation (and no evidence) required, then so can... whatever there was 'before' the Big Bang (which no one knows, even if we can ask about 'before' in the absence of time).
The philosopher mentioned in this video managed to overcome his ego. I think many modern scientists and thinkers understand that atheism and materialism do not make any sense, but they can't accept it because of their arrogance. Thank you for a nice video. Keep it going.

In total there were for all the 80 battles 1018 casualties! Let us compare with next wars,
Alexander the great wars; 142000 deaths, Napoleonic wars: 2.000.000.
'" After Jesus had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.…,
Have you read well your Bible?

It's one thing to gather an orchestra together in one place, but it's another thing entirely to harmonise each musician in such a way that they collectively produce a meaningful, and hopefully beautiful, piece of music.
beautifully put!
You've relied on the watchmaker argument; stupid argument.
@@bradholms6400 why is it a stupid argument? Maybe your mind is lacking?

@@BloggingTheology
Thanks, I'm a strong believer that even in this day and age, we have not been left in darkness regarding the greater truth of the reality of life, that the greater truth can even still be found in the day to words we use everyday, if we take the time to con-template them correctly.
As well they should. The absolute best outcome for theists is to argue for a god of the 18th century deist flavor.

Better to keep your mouth shut as many theist scientists do, unless already in stable leadership positions. I'm sure you could find some by searching the internet. Have a nice day.
@@gy5240 Yeah "obviously many people" blah blah. You are the archetypal Theist (believing and asserting without evidence.) Flew argued without evidence and a philosophical argument is not a sound basis for evidence of reality.
My sheikh last night mentioned this book. I’m so glad you’ve done a mini summary video about it
I'm relatively unintelligent and not very educated. I don't understand the meaning of most of these complicated words, But when it comes to whether or not there is an intelligent creator, I'm appalled that so many don't believe it and want physical evidence there is one. They refuse to accept spiritual realities. Doesn't beautiful music convince us, or our ability to love (I would die for any of my kids) or our sense of sympathy, empathy, curiosity, creativeness (art, cuisine, etc.), logic, humor and so much more? This gorgeous earth convinces me we have an intelligent creator. And all within the laws of science. (Matter cannot be created nor destroyed) People who argue with their wealth of scientific facts and knowledge I think are blinded by their own intellect and too proud to be as a little child.
YOU ARE A GOOD SOUL
No, the existence of music, love, empathy or curiosity does not point to a ruler of the universe that is personally concerned about our sexuality.
There are easy natural explanations for all of those. The easiest one is that animals develop helpful properties for their survival. If they don't, they don't survive. Just like a person has to adapt useful skills for a job otherwise he or she won't go very far.
Its a fascinating process sure. But it has been well explained naturally and does not need magic as an explanation.

@Borsalino Kizaru Nowhere. I can't be anywhere unless I'm alive. And there is also the time when I'm a baby where I am not me at all. My consciousness still has to develop.
The satellite phone analogy is a good argument for consciousness not being local to the body but coming from a greater source somewhere inaccessible to us
He is honest enough to admit, what he believed was wrong. He has a system of thoughts. Three cheers to Anthony Flew.
But the sea spunge is a component of a larger web of life which does reveal levels of consciousness in its spectrum.
From a rock's perspective, is any life at all necessary? Maybe we are selfish to imagine that life is essential. After all, we are all destine to return to the "inanimate."
(But I actually, what I believe is that, all is connected and consciennes permiates everything, but is concealed in most of the universe, and revealed life, and in human consciousness most of all).
I like this man to be honest...He talks nothing from his personal perspectives...but comments everything from books and in between the comments mentions the authors...
When the fasting of Ramadan was enjoined, it became optional for the people to fast or not to fast on the day of Ashura.’
The fasting for Ashura (10th of Muharram) originated from a Quraish pagan practice.

@@jamesmaybury7452 Thank you for the beautiful explanation. I agree.
