    What an awesome tutorial! I almost didn't watch it because I've been stitching for 30 years...this means I taught myself before the internet was invented. I had no idea there was a fabric viewer online, and only recently discovered a stitch calculator. Technology is a fantastic thing but you have to know what exists before it can help you. Thanks so much!

    This is very informative. I've come back to cross stitch after a 10 year absence and things sure have changed. I am going to look at the websites you were using. I especially liked the stitch converter and the site where you able to see the fabrics. I have only every used up to 14ct, so as I say its all new and exciting. I love the Mirabeli, but also have fallen in love with Heaven and Earth charts, found them after watching Theresa Craig on flosstube. Thanks for all info. Happy stitching

    The art work is magnificent, so why is it called mirabilia? Any way the name sounds beautiful.

      Not sure to be honest. Mirabilia is the company which produces the chart. Nora Corbett is the chart designer.

    Love your videos. I'm also in the U.K. And starting to kit up a mirabilia so thank you for showing the fabric viewer; it's brilliant, but now I'm undecided on which fabric will make my petal fairy pop.

    Randomly stumbled upon your channel while researching Mirabilia. So glad I did-that fabric website is going to be my new best friend. I also found a killer deal for a Mirabilia kit on eBay that I decided to purchase while watching you. Yes-I get the irony that your video is on how to kit up, and I bought an already kitted up piece. But-I’ll use the tips for next time I kit something up.

    What a great idea! I had used the Viewer before but couldn't figure out how to change only one background so I could compare the fabrics. Thank you so very much for showing me that!

      Hi,
      If you want to see which hand-dyed fabric would look good for those charts go to fabricviewer.com, use the fabric and chart options to see. You could also use a plain fabric from your local needlework store.

    Are the symbols/ colors all the same for all Maribillia charts?

    • @Denkai
      @Denkai  3 роки тому

      Not that I have noticed to be honest. I think the symbols and colours change with each chart but they are easily understandable.

    Wow! There is a lot of great info in this video. I've been cross stitching since I was 12, but stopped around the age of 25 and started up again a few years ago. Things are really different and I really appreciate you taking the time to show all the great tools and new ways of doing things that are out there now! Great job...keep up the great work! Love your jokes too!

    Great video, love your floss tube! I have a question, i just bought all supplies for my first Mirabilia and was wondering how a blend stitch is stated on the chart. I am looking and looking but can't see it. In the chart it says Blends are one strand each. So am a bit scared I will do it wrong. I am starting Emerald Mermaid. It is so beautiful.

    • @Denkai
      @Denkai  7 років тому

      hey, so for blending it will give you two numbers. you need to cut a length of each that you find comfortable sewing with. I use a chest to extended arm length. when you have the same length of one strand of each number.you thread both colours together on the needle and stitch with them. let me know if thats not clear enough.

    • @willemijn9990
      @willemijn9990 7 років тому

      oh really like that, ... gosh, that is a big help, thanks!!! And when there is a symbol for a bead, is it correct that you don't do a cross with thread beneath it, only the bead on that place?? Sometimes it looks on pictures that there must be a colour beneath as well. thank you, you are a big help, can't wait to start it, bit sacred hahaha

    • @Denkai
      @Denkai  7 років тому

      when you bead, use a matching thread and make the first cross, but when you come up add the bead on, down through the fabric. You can make a full cross by going back and coming back through the set bead if you want too.

    • @willemijn9990

      Thank you so much, you are so kind to reply to me so fast and a big help!!! Had bought invisible thread to add the beads but this sounds easier.Thanks!

      Hi Cherise, Thank you so much for your kind reply. I ordered some needle minders last week, can't wait to receive them! I have 1 more question if you don't mind. The Krenik #4 in Emerald Mermaid, do i need to use the thread double like i use 2 over 2 with the DMC in this piece? Or just 1 thread? Thanks!
