- How to improve your back foot punch and your back foot drive technique with these 2 simple drills that even beginner cricketers can practice at home.
The back foot punch is a simple cricket shot and in this video I first teach you what is the correct technique when practicing the back foot punch or back foot drive. I then show you 2 simple batting drills that even beginner cricketers can practice to improve their back foot punch or back foot drives.
Back foot punch and back foot drives is a great way to score runs of fast bowlers as well as spinners. It is a great technique to have in your armoury to boost your confidence while batting in cricket matches. The batting drill shown in this video can be at home and I would suggest 15 minutes of practice each day.
All the best!

Mashala Maula Salamat Rakhe aap ko.thanks.sir
Suppose I have back and across trigger movement like Marnus Labuschagne. I move my front leg forward when the bowler bowls. After I have touched the ground with my front foot thinking it to be a full delivery and it becomes difficult to come back and pull if it's a bouncer and I get hit or miss it. What to do?
Hi Rishi, good question! Next time you are in the cricket nets, do your trigger movement but do not put too much weight on the front foot (during your trigger - when the bowler bowls). Keep it a light touch. This should help you get onto your back foot quicker. Try this and let me know if it works or not!
Good Luck!
Sir. Very helpfull drill 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Very good tip's sir
Thanks and welcome
Sweep shot
Hi, sure shall make a video on this soon!
Video on back foot punch when the ball is slightly away on the 6th stump. So the punch is not straight it is more towards the point region.
Ex : Sehwag to Mitch Johnson.
6th stump ball should be played with a horizontal bat, so it becomes a square cut / late cut
I want to learn pull shot
Sure, I will make a video on that too!

Back foot punch is a safe option to score runs against both spinners and fast bowlers who pitch the ball short of good length
