- This week we're on a little road trip in Japan in the Kyushu prefecture. We're specifically in Miyazaki. Miyazaki is famous for mangoes and wagyu. Their wagyu is known as being the best in Japan! They also produce the most expensive mango, Taiyo-no-Tomago. Watch the video to find out why Miyazaki mangoes are so expensive.

I have a passion for mangoes as well so I enjoyed this episode! I've had mangoes from around the world (including Miyazaki) and while Miyazaki is amazing, the Pakistani Chaunsa mango beats it. I'm from Canada and it's available through import only in June. You guys should find some and give it a try cuz it's life altering! LOL

I was salivating watching you guys eating the $40.00 mango. What a experience for you guys. Beautiful hotel, what a spot. Loved the Japanese cultural outfits you were waring. I've been to Tokyo but it was a pity my stay was short as would have loved to have tried more food and seen more history of Japan. So I'm really enjoying the watch and Taku's knowledge. Loving your mini kyushu grand tour so far. We went out of our way to visit miyazaki a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of fresh foods that were top class. From beef, chicken (jidori), pork, lobster and of course, the mango. The sights were varied too with forests in the interior and beautiful coastal overlooks and beaches on the seaside.

People who are saying they've had Mangoes that taste the same or similar likely live next to a tree that lives in perfect conditions. Take Kauai for example, you can find mangoes all over but there's a select few tree's that grow in specific area's and were well cared for that produce Mangoes that blow the rest on the Island out of the water.

Hey Taku & Jocelyn the next time you guys are near a mango tree and youre able to "pick the leaves" pick out some "young leafs" theyre edible and they taste like the skin of a mango. its very delicious with fresh type meals where you can wrap it aka spring rolls or vietnamese banh xeo. please try it and let me know what yall think bout it!
