Every UA-cam video covering one-hit wonders from this era either incorrectly mentions Looking Glass or correctly omits them, resulting in a ton of irate responses in the comments section.

A song I enjoyed and had forgotten was 'Strange Way' by Firefall. I heard this song in passing the other day while I was filling up my truck at the gas station. It took me a while to figure out the song, having only a vague memory of it from decades ago. Its worth a listen, I play it often.
Minnie Riperton had another hit, "Memory Lane", in Summer 1979, just prior to her death on 7/12 (the same day "Disco Inferno" happened!): as the Disco era came to an end!!
The song in 1982,JUST AN ILLUSION by IMAGINATION was the epilogue of Disco! IMAGINATION was a Techno-Pop/New Wave group out of London and Sussex England and this release was the nails in the coffin for disco in America and in other countries.
How did you overlook Afternoon Delight by the Starland Vocal Band? The song reached #1 on the Billboard chart and earned a Grammy for Best Arrangement for Voices.
Rock me gently is now just that car insurance company commercial squirrels running out on the road I think? Good song anyway. Most of the 60s and 70s songs are cool.❤✌️
The seventies were a hodge podge of musical genres, hence the rise of "One Hit Wonders". Disco and easy listening/soft rock got the majority of radio play on AM radio or in dance clubs. But for those of us who stayed away it and dug in on FM radio, we still had bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and the band who had the album that stayed on the charts throughout the decade Pink Floyd with Dark Side of the Moon.
The very old fashioned roller skates were wheels you slipped on your feet over your shoe. They were tightened/adjusted with a special roller skate key.
I like more the versions of Joan Jett, Cindy lauper, ccr , Aretha F, Johnny cash, Whitney Huston, no disrespect to the other performer, very nice job on this documentary
"Driver's Seat" by Sniff n' the Tears didn't hit the USA top-40 until the week ending August 18, 1979. Also this video contains numerous other factual errors. That's why every time I see a video with the words "One Hit Wonder" in the title, I look to see how wrong the content creator is. Chalk this one up to LOSS OF CREDIBILITY.

Romans 10 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

the song brand new key is a wonder it was a hit, the fact she came up when she was starved explains how bad it is and the fact it was a hit means most listeners must have been stoned.

None of which I recall which is the key point. They weren't hits hence the 'one hit wonder' noted with the songs in this video
Don’t forget. Look what they’ve done to my song Ma.
I've always felt Andy Kim sounded alot like B J Thomas
Lay down 1970, look what they done 1970 and brand new key 1971. Andy Kim had several hits in the 70's but the last one was rock me gently.
I loved Melanie Safka. RIP Melanie.
Definitely can't go wrong with 70s music.
No where near as good as the 1960's.
The 70's were the greatest.

The Hustle is one of the very first popular line dances that would carry into country music!
"Torn Between Two Lovers" by Mary McGregor and "Never Been To Me" by Charlene are two songs I think of when I think of one hit wonders from that era.

Yes it is m where the hell is Canada
Yes, the USA is the only market that counts in the record industry, especially for their records. Yeah, Life’s a bitch, and then you die.
He had seven top 40 hits in the US too.
Best one hit wonders of the '70s with no mention of Brandy by Looking Glass or King Harvest's Dancin' In The Moonlight? I call shenanigans.

How about Afternoon Delight by Starland Vocal Band, and Play that Funky Music by Wild Cherry
Andy Kim's version of is wonderful !
We bought Loving You on our honeymoon,ah memories 💚Thank you Mini
Melanie had a few hits and performed at Woodstock. Not a one hit wonder.
Liked her version of Ruby Tuesday and of course the Nickel Song
Lots of one hit wonders in the 70’s. One of my favorites is “Never Been Any Reason” by Head East. Off of FLAT as a PANCAKE album.

Never heard of Chevy van Never made it here in the U.K.
How about Stories “ Brother Louie”

San Francisco Wear some Flowers in your Hair -- Scott McKenzie

'Green-wich'! Oh Dear
I’m Australian and know all these except Drivers Seat and Chevy Van. The Rubettes had other hits in their native UK
Drivers Seat was top 20 here in Australia but never gets played by Gold radio stations that i can remember.
How could you not know Drivers Seat? It was huge in Australia. Maybe your age?
If they had other hits, by definition they are not one-hit-wonders.
