I remember visiting Granville island on my way out of Vancouver back home to New Zealand, but I didn't make it any further than the first pub... seems like I missed out on quite a bit. So cool to see all those bikes! I'm still dreaming of a day where my fellow citizens can accept that bikes belong in my city, rather than constantly fighting any chance of us cycle-commuters being safe and catered for. Exploring a city by bike is by far the most exciting way to do so, so much you miss out on when you're locked up in one of those large 4 wheeled things people seem to love so much.
What a champion, i think the beard convinced you he's the real deal for your beautiful daughter. Congrats on gaining a son in law to be proud of. Cheers and beers
Congratulations to all of you, grand style for such an occasion. Chasing a slice of utopian living on the water with family around is worthy existence.
Often we spend all of our time working on the projects we hope will bring us this joy and I'm so pleased to see you experiencing that joy in life. Best to you all.
Wow Peter. What a wonderful addition to your family. That was such a sweet old fashioned thing to do and share (bloody dust in my eyes 🙄) Caitlin, he is definitely a keeper. That was such a utopian visit one you’ll treasure more so as it was caught on camera. I loved David’s Super 8 cine camera. I still have some reels of my kids when they were little. Must get them digitised. What a great new chapter in your family life. 👍
hi Peter, thanks for another wonderful episode. just finished a great trip on the rocky mountaineer with my oldest daughter Kate. my dad was Canadian and I proudly fly the MAPLE LEAF at my cottage on Lake Michigan. fair winds and following seas. JDR
Some people think life is about a big house, fancy cars or building obscene amounts of wealth, yet at the end of our lives none of that matters, what does are the memories we made along the way. That is the beautiful thing about MV Geordie and the work you have put into her, now she is letting you make those memories with the people who matter to you, and you are able to have that experience. And now as Kate and David start down their path together, and start their own family, and Peter as you become Grandpa, you will be able to make even more memories with their kids that will be incredibly special to them for the rest of their lives. Making those memories, that is the meaning of life, and you are doing a mighty fine job of it!
And that's the beautiful thing about you and La Ruina with all the projects you started on her. Only a man of true passion would start all those projects and work on them simultaneously. Completion is not a priority when working on the love of your life. You're such an inspiration.
From all of us on the Queen of Scots, congrats on the addition to your family! Outstanding! Any young man with the respect to ask a father for permission has my respect. Fair winds to the young couple. Great news!!
Another holiday moment, Another cruise in the sun. This time, however, with family Which makes for even more fun! The family seems to be closer Than you have been even before. May the young couple soon find their Utopia of love - and much more!
What a beautiful video. A pleasure to see the boat you worked on so faithfully being utilized in ideal environment, both outside the craft (no finer scenery anywhere) and within the craft (good companionship). That is the dream, humbly portrayed in this video.
What a nice surprise! More than 20 years ago I was lucky to spend 4 months in Vancouver. Seeing all these places again came unsuspected and digs out lovely memories. Would love to go there again one day. Seems you spend a happy week in town and out on the water. Can’t get any better. I have no clue how to include utopia here.🙂 Keep on filming and share it with us. Thanks a lot and best wishes from old Europe!
“Bittersweet “ such an appropriate word for the occasion. I have been following your Utube channel for quite some time and always look forward to see what projects you are up to. We too are out this end of the country visiting our family and just got back from Bowen Island and understand the lure of cruising out here. We will be here in Surrey for a bit then back to BH2O and as you know just a little north of your old stomping grounds. Curious our paths did not cross as we were active in the boating life back home and spent many winters in the Bahamas after retirement. Just to throw in more pain a few years ago restored a TR3A, did sell that one. All the best.
Over the years I have felt part of the Travels with Geordie family. Sharing a special family moment like this is just all the more special for us. Thanks for allowing us to be part of your family and this special moment. All the best luck to Kaitlyn and David. Just fabulous!!!
Utopia excellent choice for word of the week! I thought it might be Special but Utopia wins this special bonus episode. Congratulations two the lovely couple Peter. 🙌🍻cheers
What a wonderful surprise in so many ways. A bonus mid-week episode, a trip around Vancouver, the appearance of your beautiful daughter and her now husband to be. Awesome 👏
Well, utopia is actually defined as a perfect, but imaginary place. While no place is actually perfect, life aboard Geordie seems to be pretty darn close. Gongrats to you, your daughter and future son-in-law. You know, I think I was watching two lucky men in this episode.
Now that was a great vid ya all looking like ya enjoying life as it happens. Great to see Kaitlyn and David starting out on a new journey in life I suspect the shall find there own Utopia as time goes by. Loved the look around town as will probably never get there so good to see somewhere new as with all the Cruising you do. Great to see the asking ir okay to Marry ya Daughter bit quite Fun. Be well now and carry on.
We all seek that "Utopia". Some of us find it, some continue to look for it. I hope your daughter and future son-in-law find it. Congratulations to each of you.
Didn't see a ring in this bonus edition, but I'll presume what I hope is now obvious since it's common knowledge... Congratulations to Kate and David! Thanks to you (and Peter, always), for allowing us a continuing glimpse into part of your lives. 🥂
You know what Peter. This video was awesome. I lost my daughter to drugs. Wished she only liked beer. Peter you got it all. However I'm totally binge watching . Totally psyched on this upper helm refit. Carry on Geordie Crew.
I hope you never replace the canopies (ok, maybe some cleaning), their so distinctive than any ready made ones you can purchase. MV Geordie wouldn't be what she is without them. ;-)
Haha. I still remember asking my father in law for permission to marry his daughter. She was his favorite, and here I am, a 20 year old shit, thinking I can do better. LOL We just had our 42nd anniversary on the 23rd. I too am a lucky man. Congratulations Kaitlyn.
Wow, what a special moment! Thank you for sharing that with us and we wish the best that the future has to offer for your daughter and her soon to be husband.
@@TravelsWithGeordie well my son just arrived home to Ireland after a summer in Vancouver Peter and he hasn't snagged any beautiful young women so I'm guessing your young lady chose wisely. Genuinely happy you are in Utopia Peter. Sean
Well congratulations to you Peter and your daughter and future son in law. That was very cool of him to include all of us in his approval question... A lot of us have been on the journey with you for a while and love seeing you and your daughters in the episodes so this special moment was a little bit of a tear jerker... Lol This episode was definitely Utopia as it couldn't have been better... Cheers to you and your family...
Yay! Fabulous news about the old hitchy ho and lovely reaction from you, Peter. Restored my faith in humanity. I was old fashioned enough to ask my first wife's dad, a dairy farmer, the same back in 79. He lifted his head from the Sunday Express and said, are you sure? Apologies if this is a bit dour.
Thank you so much for sharing this, Peter. In a world that seems on a precipice these days, its WONDERFUL to see, and hear, people who love each other, who love life, and who follow their dreams. All of you, come hang with me in France, anytime !
Caitlin and David, I suspect you might be toying with moving to Vancouver. If you want the best weather in Canada, want to live in a city that feels like a town, is beautiful and is in beautiful surroundings, think Victoria. You do get tired of the grey in Vancouver, I lived in Vancouver and North Vancouver for 42 years and now am on Vancouver Island in the central area. But in 1973 I went to fleet school training as a junior Navy officer in Esquimalt. Victoria has changed wonderfully over the years and is a very laid back area to live. And Peter, when you had your boat in Nanaimo with the marina off of "Head" road, I always thought a good joke, kind of like naming the road "Bathroom."
Hi Guys wow what a beautiful place thank you for sharing the video wonderful to see you’re enjoying each other’s company , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia from the big island
Now that's pretty cool. Young lad, gets the lovely girl, dad's approval, and a nice little cruise. That's word of the week worthy.
Couldn't agree more!
Peter, I never lost hope in ya, And now I’m in Utopia ! Congratulations to your lovely daughter and her very lucky fella..
Thanks so much John. And congratulations to you!
"great times"
so nice to see the joy of youth, makes for a true utopia!
change that to "the best of times".
So true.
BEST episode!! Congratulations to all!! Word of the week…MARRIAGE!!
Heh, it will be.

Awww, thanks David.

Thanks so much. Heh, I have some 8 mm around too somewhere.
So happy for you Peter, you haven't lost a daughter, you have gained a son. 🍻🍺
What Chris said!
A stay aboard MV Geordie would make anyone feel they were in a utopia. Congrats to the future married couple!
It is pleasant, no doubt.
Family time! Ah that's what it is all about. So happy for you and the family. Thanks for the video

The resemblance is uncanny.
Congratulations I had a tear in my eye there, I wish them all the best for the future.
Thanks.
WOW, such a beautiful father-and-daughter relationship... makes me want to do more for my girls💖
From all of us on the Queen of Scots, congrats on the addition to your family! Outstanding! Any young man with the respect to ask a father for permission has my respect. Fair winds to the young couple. Great news!!
Thanks so much.
In a perfect utopia, all young men would be as respectful and honorable towards their future father in law as this young man. Congratulations to all.
He is an absolute gentleman in every way.
Peter, you are a lucky man indeed. And is it a coincidence that your son-in-law to-be sports a hairstyle similar to yours? 😁
I love it!
perhaps, but it works better on him!
I loved this video! This was the best propose moment that I've ever seen. Congrats for David to get approval from her dad. Amazing storyline !!
Thank you so much!!
Another holiday moment,

What an uplifting episode. Congratulations to you all! No doubt Geordie is smiling and frolicking with joy in doggie utopia upon hearing the news.
Thanks Ivar
Brilliant video! The beauty of your daughter and Geordie is certainly no utopia! Take care.
Thank you
Marriage is not a utopia but is worth it with the right person! Congrats!
Congratulations Peter on the growing family! They are a beautiful couple, and as someone else already said, congrats on gaining a son!
Thank you!

Thank you Peter. come back for a visit.
I have no idea what the word utopia means so I will leave it at that. Congrats to the young couple, all the best in your future
Does anyone else think that David looks like a younger version of Peter? Utopia or bust!!! Love the show Peter
Heh, I was never that handsome.
Kids are great! The night bike thing looked wonderful!
was some kind of wild, lit up bike rave.
Your daughter is so sweet and looks like your mini-me.. The resemblance is so strong.
