John is a master of all things bait related and reveals hard won knowledge to anyone who asks And is a lovely man too . His talks and enthusiasm is infectious and has helped me reassess my Fishing at 77 years old I don’t fish much and haven’t for the last three years
Hi John. I'm a customer of yours, and no doubt you recognise my name, with the amount of correspondence we've shared over the past year! (although basic information, it's been invaluable to me!) love your products, I appreciate your continued advice, & I love the channel. Thanks guy's for another interesting upload! 👍
Oh, John!! John!!! You are literally setting me free! I’m learning so much watching these (at the age of 45), and it’s nice to hear a bonafide expert confirming a couple of things I thought I might know. ( Hemp protein..I bloody knew it!!) Seriously though, many thanks for doing these vids, invaluable. Can’t wait for my little bottles to arrive!
Great video John, I have had the pleasure of watching your videos over the last couple months and for someone like myself who is just getting into bait making I have to say you are an inspiration! The amount of knowledge and level of wholesome you present is top notch all the way from your presentation to the lawn mowing sounds in the background lol, truly made me feel like I was taken a class! Cheers from 🇨🇦
Thanks John. Really informative again. I always learn something new from watching your bait vids even though I have been making bait for over 30 years.
I made my own baits since I took up carp fishing in the early nineties. Some baits were good some were incredible. I smiled when I heard you mention some companies, as I used them myself and know how good some of those flavours were. Used in a 50/50 attractor mix on their own they were brilliant. As I developed my skill and understanding of the carp and it's olfactory system, it's digestive system and dietary requirements, I began including ingredients that were specifically included to present bait that was nutritionally beneficial for the carp and my results concluded that fresh, nutritional valued baits that met the carps dietary requirements outfished poor quality with a flavour as the label and attractor only was not the way forward. Watching your videos John has given me confidence, that I was on to something following the research. Your videos mentioned a lot of the logic behind your base mixes mine also followed the same logic. Subtle is far more palatable and stimulatory than too much of something or overloaded and repellent to the carp at too high a rate of inclusion. When the Carp actually can be observed congregating in numbers in the area your bait has been introduced hunting out the last remaining bait in the clear water, and going into a frenzy when more is introduced is something to behold . Thanks to you John I was able to witness that reaction from Carp having learned a great deal from your own research and sharing that information with us. Paste was the word and how to utilise it that really changed my fishing. It was you John that was instrumental in changing my bait making and fishing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
Great video's John and clealy explained. I remember you from the Hutchy and Geoff Kemp bait area and your advice on keeping levels low is spot on, more of the same please 👍
Hi John I'm the Zimbabwean guy that spoke to you at the big one show and bought some base mixes and liquids you suggested. My son on our first season caught a pb carp , we used the paste wrapped around small boilies and caught well .
Bonjour John, merci pour cette vidéo,vos explications sont riche d'enseignements et très intéressantes. Merci de nous transmettre votre savoir ,continuez comme ça.
Thanks John, was wondering where you had gone. Great info, can’t wait to get fishing on the boilies I make from your products. Funnily enough I’ve got the the Roast chicken and alar salar, but with shrimp extract and bio shellfish base mix…..great video
Very informative John good to see someone else who believes in real food as us old heads call it lol I’m not the only taster but don’t tell my mrs keep up the good information john
Hi John,i have recently started watching your videos, and will be definitely buying your products and making boilies as you describe how to.I fish a 45 acre pit with a relatively low stock, but many large carp in the lake, and if you can give me an edge regarding making boilies and hookbaits, then i will be very grateful indeed.I have tried various bait aporoaches, with no luck at all..but there is a problem in the lake and that is crayfish, they are a real pain in the neck.I loved Mr hutchinsons scopex, and i see you do Topex,a flavour i have yet to buy but most certainly will be doing so.So if you can advise a recipe,i eould be extremely grateful and any tips to go with it.Thanks again for your videos, they are great snd very informative, and certainly opened my eyes even more to home rolling, which is something i have done for many years.I always used ,and still do use Rod hutchinsin’s products,as they are quality oriducts. So i look forward to hearing any suggestions you may send my way.thankyou very much .Anthony Grady
Hi John iv got a big problem with the baits taking on the smell of the eggs used. Any recommendations to kill the eggs smell while making your own baits? Its got to the point im done wasting basemix for the outcome to stink of the eggs used..
I actually prefer using powdered egg these days nothing to do with cost but I don’t want all my attractors locked up inside the egg. I’ve found using powdered egg that solubility is much better especially in colder water.
@@wakofish I’m not making a cake though am I?. Fresh egg may well be better. But if you use egg powder to replace liquid egg with hydrolysates and other attractive liquids it’s my view you end up with a more effective end product. Of course it’s only my findings I’m certainly no expert.

Our first sessions using your baits at a small comp in our little syndicate lake . He caught a pb 28 .9lb and biggest fish of the weekend.
Great refresher John, I will be making session packs a week in advance from now on!! Cheers 🍻
Glad to hear it!

Absolute masterclass...!!!
Stunning
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi John, if you could only add one flavour to the Taste hookbait mix what would it be ?
I don't have enough room in the freezer and my missus goes mad. I bought some bio shellfish last year is there anyway of making it shelf life thankyou
excellent video
You may have to moisten the cork ball for better adhesion of paste with some mixes.
When is the 3rd instalment due
Great stuff
Wow. That was fantastic.
I have plenty of taste 2 base mix.
Can it be seived as i dont have the hookbait mix.
Sieve it and add 10% hookbait hardener 👍🏻

Fair play John, but why do some of the biggest carp get caught on sweetcorn time and again a low val
And indeed your own tuttie frutie baits out of a packet been catching for years not to forget tiger nuts contradiction in terms of you ask me!!

If it works for you then fine but the quality is in fresh eggs. You wouldn’t make a cake with powdered egg…

If your using powdered egg. what other liquids are you adding to bind it all together ? This could be totally changing the flavours
